I told you that FDU plays five out and bombs away and you said that equals a 40 point loss, yet you think IU has too many lane-cloggers! #saltysandwich

His sinuses look surprisingly good! -
You are one salty sandwich this evening!

All of FDU’s sets are designed to free up a three point shooter. Count me intrigued
-
Me either. But he’d go from second to third choice next year. Reneau is quite literally the only post defender likely to return.
-
We will have 50% more than currently as things stand.
-
But he's a true point guard and is 6'1". That's our position of lowest need with X, Cupps, and Trey.

We are guaranteed to lose three players (TJD, Race, Kopp) and I'd guess we'll lose a total of four or five. We have two incoming freshmen. So from the portal? I'd guess approximately two. Hulls would be the logical role to identify possible good fits for IU, though an assistant with a connection to a player would raise that name (like Kenya did with Xavier Johnson). There is also a possibility that a portal player would reach out to IU to express interest, likely through an AAU coach or family member. Woody should ultimately be approving (beyond interest gauging) our outreach to a player. We reach out to portal players by calling - either to the player directly or to his designated rep (AAU coach, family, etc.) Hulls would be the logical first caller, but for special players it may be an assistant or even Woody. Are we doing that now? I would think...yes, very much so. Especially by Hulls and especially to gauge interest.

They will double Trayce. Can Miller, Trey, JHS and Tamar knock down a few jumpers early? If they can? We good. If not? Ruh-oh. -

It's a solid point. Kent State is 70 in KenPom. The worst KenPom rated team that IU has lost to this season is Northwestern (twice), who is 42 in KenPom. -

He seems to be a nice player, but they have now won 11 in a row without him. -

That's an overstatement in my mind. If both teams play to an equal level of expectation, we are estimated to be about 4 points better. So, if all goes according to plan, It'll be about a nail-biting 70-66 IU victory. My prediction? With complete confidence, I can predict that the game thread will be full of all of these things: panic, worry, joy, and shock that we are either trailing or can't put Kent State away. And then extreme anger if we lose or great relief if we win by the expected single digits. -
Yes! FDU and Texas Southern players will undoubtedly be fouling Edey's elbows with their noses.

Kent State 81, Central Michigan 69 Central Michigan76, Eastern Illinois 60 Eastern Illinois 92, Iowa 83 Iowa 90, Indiana 68. Therefore, we appear to be approximately 59 points worse than Kent State -
He reminds a lot of people of Aaron Craft and Jordan Hulls. ;)

I truly thought you were joking. But you are not: https://www.al.com/sports/2023/03/reports-new-mcneese-state-basketball-coach-will-wade-suspended-for-first-5-games-of-next-season.html

After listening to this podcast, Kent State has now been described as a combination of the Michael Jordan lead Chicago Bulls, and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar UCLA teams. On their best day. -
True, but he beat out the other guys on Harvard for this.

This is an intriguing prospect: He has three years of eligibility remaining. His numbers in his one full year at Pitt were strong: 14.8 ppg/7.9 rpg in 30 mpg, though lots of turnovers and pretty low fg %. He's a true big that absolutely can play ball and bang down low. Coming off a knee injury and a lost season due to mental health issues. Finally, he has a pre-existing relationship with Xavier Johnson... and not a positive one. But it seems as though X has grown as a man and a leader: According to a copy of the criminal complaint levied against Hugley, Hugley and an unidentified accomplice stole a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu that had been parked on Coltart Avenue in Oakland near Pitt’s campus on July 19, 2020. Video evidence obtained by Pittsburgh Police allegedly shows Claire Green, the daughter of the vehicle’s owner, and three other individuals, including Pitt basketball players Noah Collier and Will Jeffress, exit the vehicle where Green said it was parked on Coltart Avenue on the evening on July 18, 2020. According to the complaint, Green said the individuals attended a party in Collier and Jeffress’ dorm room, along with Hugley, an unidentified friend of Hugley’s and Pitt guard Xavier Johnson.
