Rutgers was 3-1 in conference. Getting blown out by Penn State in State College. It’s tough to win on the road in the B1G. That, and Penn State is pretty decent.

For X and Parker especially

It's a good post, but as an eternal believer in the good of people, there are few things I am sure of: Anthony Leal and Trayce Jackson Davis are completely committed to Indiana University. There is no other college basketball destination for either of them. I cannot imagine Trey Galloway ever playing for a college program other than IU either. If Xavier Johnson continues to play college basketball, it will be for Mike Woodson. Rob Phinisee too.

I like this one because it has us one spot ahead of our archrivals, Wyoming.

It did not count last year. It counts this year, and going forward. 13 max scholly players.

Crean put together one absolutely complete team roster: Yogi, by then a true championship quality point, RoJo, Zeisloft, Troy, Bryant, OG, Juwan, and Beilfeldt. That was an eight player championship-quality rotation. Two things went wrong: We were far, far thinner at guard than up front. When RoJo got hurt we had to use walk-on Harrison Niego as our third guard. The timing on RoJo's injury was brutal. We ran into the eventual champ, UNC, took away their inside game, and a low shooting % guard got super hot. But that roster for IU was loaded.

Son, ya gotta play defense, use your right hand, and again, you gotta get rid of the damn percolator. -
Indiana now receiving poll votes again. #31 in coaches poll. #32 in writers' poll. Two road wins this week might just put us in. Ought to, but maybe too many teams to jump. Moral of the story? When a team starts the year with a low ranking, it's hard to climb in.

(2023) F/C Austin Parks to Ohio State
Stuhoo replied to Gnet550's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
He visited Ohio State for a game in December and did no such thing. Also, posting a picture in the uniform of the team he visited is very common. Changing the profile pic? Never seen that before. Maybe it's just an awkward tech moment by him, but still. -
An intriguing player for sure. Would love to know how he's been faring against Race and Trayce in practice.

For sure - this - our bench is better than most any team. OR (with a glass half empty view) unlike most teams we don't know who our best five players are on any given night. Only two of our starting five are guaranteed to be on the court during crunch time. For all of the talk about which players are our best and should be starting, Woody is more concerned with us finishing each game with our best five players. So, the question then stands -- are we ever without one or two of our finishing players on the court? With Phin and Trey now most likely to be among the final five, it seems that we are not. -
A homecoming for him: The native of Carlisle, Pa., was a three-time all-conference selection at Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and was a two-time NAIA All-American at defensive end and two-time academic all-conference selection. Wilt earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Taylor University in 2000 and a master’s degree from Virginia in 2006. His father Steve is a lifelong football coach and was the head coach at Wingate College (N.C.) and Taylor University (Ind.).

He switched back to a non-IU uniform Twitter profile pic this morning. Still... -
All, Let's make sure this thread stays generally on point, and not veer into a thread that judges which posters are better fans. Thanks

Was that from your post? Because it reads like the transcript of an Archie Miller assessment of him. ;) -

I think a good part of the answer is Phinisee’s personality. He is not a complainer on his worst day. He has never been an alpha personality. Probably thought it was his fault, not a leave the program issue. But Woody and Fife are bringing out some dog in him. And damn, he can defend. -

Watching a little bit of game replay. Jordan Geronimo closes out on shots like no one at IU since OG Anunoby. Maybe even better. He can be a special special weapon on the defensive end. -
No kidding! Wisky hangs on by one after being up 19

This is an example of the respect for the program and it’s history Woody has instilled. Trayce knows:
