Gottlieb takes a lot of heat , but after hearing his takes on IUBB? He might start growing on y'all just a little:

Great video and yes; we’re gonna love CE. An example? During the recruitment he was always an IU heavy lean, but the one thing that sold him above all others was when he walked into Assembly Hall. Of note, starting at the 14:00 mark there’s some really good insight about Coach Devries; probably the best I’ve heard yet.

Good lord... really? Yes, every university has a small percentage of kids that are up to no good. SAMPSON ACTIVELY RECRUITED THESE PEOPLE, TRIED TO BURY THEIR ONGOING ACTIVITIES, AND HIRED SENDERHOFF (and McCallum) TO HELP CARRY OUT THE PLAN. Eric Gordon said that of the 13 scholarship players when he was at IU, only him, DJ White, and two others were not actively and openly using and/or dealing drugs. THAT's NINE OUT OF THIRTEEN IU PLAYERS. Hell, Jamarcus Ellis and Brandon McGee were among those who were actively using in the IU locker room. Dakich was in the locker room that year: "Rob Senderoff was cheating his brains out for Kelvin Sampson at Indiana and Kelvin is pretty smart. He got rid of Senderoff, but took care of him.'' ------------------- "Senderoff was a little cheat, and he wasn't even any good at it,'' Dakich said. "He got caught easy when he was at Indiana. It pays to cheat. Look at Kelvin Sampson. Nobody’s cheating more than Kelvin Sampson. And if anybody thinks it was just phone calls, I've got two words for you: My Backside.'' -------------------------- "Indiana fans, if you want to get under Senderoff's skin, cheer Bud Mackey,'' Dakich said. "Bud Mackey was a player from Kentucky that he sold Sampson on but never got to play. Why? Armed robbery, drugs, you name it. Multiple charges. ------------------------ "So we find out that Bud Mackey has been arrested and I'm sitting in my office, and I'm just laughing. I'm watching Senderoff, and Ray McCallum and Kelvin Sampson, it's like the Keystone Cops of idiots. We find out that Bud Mackey has been arrested and my man Senderoff is bawling in my office. Literally crying his eyes out.'' -

Sampson brought Armon Bassett https://www.meadvilletribune.com/news/former-ohio-u-basketball-star-charged-in-alleged-bleach-attack-on-girlfriend/article_215ac17e-b66a-11e5-99fa-27481cbace8e.html, Jamarcus Ellis Rob Senderhoff https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/kent-state-basketball-coach-rob-senderoff-refuses-to-discuss-ncaa-violations-at-indiana-with-kelvin-sampson Tried to bring cocaine trafficker/armed robbery criminal Bud Mackey https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/news/story?id=3041907 , Eli Holman and his plant hurling, https://www.espn.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/36034/detroits-eli-holman-faces-assault-allegation and Brandon McGee to Indiana Basketball. Before he was at IU, Sampson got caught for rules violations, knew he'd get his employer in tons of trouble if he continued, and then proceeded to keep violating the same rules. 'Kevin' Sampson can kiss my Hoosier @$$. -
All four of those are, to varying degrees, promotions. Of conference, of resources, and/or of the basketball focus of the schools..

Clayton defended it so exactly right. He went at the shot kinda like a guy trying to block a football punt; covered the ball while flying past, not at the guy with the ball. Normally a defender closes-out up to, not past the shooter's stance, but in this case Clayton was apparently so aware of the time remaining that he closed out with a fly by, making it impossible for Sharpe to get a shot off and no chance of body contact. -
He really got buried on the bench. Didn't get ten minutes of run in a game in February or March.
-
EJ is pretty damn talented, and he now has an opportunity. Seeing will be believing, but there's some serious potential there.
-
Thinking that though he's only 6'1", he's not showing stats as a point guard. 1.2 assists in 33.7 minutes per game last season.

(In Woody voice) ... "AGAIN" Already started hiding off-topic posts. Please discuss Sampson in an appropriate thread, or start a new thread for it. But leave the new coaching staff thread for on-topic posts. Thanks again.

I call him "Kevin" Sampson, because apparently he really appreciates that. I have also been in the habit of now saying "Gon-ZAH-ga." -
+1 Guys - a discussion about Sampson is all good, but let's keep this thread for discussion of the new IUBB staff. Thanks
-
Nope. Sampson saved that for his time at Indiana

I’m rooting for Florida in a major way. But every one of those calls against UF have been good calls. Golden hasn’t adjusted at all and so Houston’s defense continues to suffocate them. -

Clayton hasn’t scored. Clayton always gets going in the second half. Always. If this is the game he doesn’t? Yeah, then Houston wins. But I’ll believe it when I see it. -

If we can get IU to only play in three on three leagues against young Eastern European 5'7" girls she'll be fantastic. As a freshman she shot 31% fg, 26% 3pt, 52% ft, with more turnovers than assists. So while she may be talented, but there's significant work for her to do to be a winning player. -

Devonte Green years were also Archie Miller years. If we don't have a coach that can effectively use players in their system it's all futile. Reasonably optimistic that we will have our 'alpha' players and after that the system will then be critical. -

Gets to gym before practice, after practice, and at night. Seems like a pretty likeable young guy.
