Rutger roster is almost complete and it looks bad. Really bad. And not "I'm a bad man!" Muhammad Ali-bad. Like Charles Barkley "turrrrible" bad.

Josh Harris would be a flat out excellent addition -
Nick Dorn to Indiana from Elon
Stuhoo replied to IU Prof's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Lost his mom to cancer after high school. Both older brothers D1 athletes. Not good—great looking shooting stroke. Pretty athletic. If we are a national surprise success I fully expect Nick Dorn to be one of the primary reasons why. -

So what your saying is that we’re gonna truly pay homage to school history by pre-dating the Knight era all the way back to: -

Dorn kinda stunned me too. Him and Miles seem like carbon copies of each other and Dorn had other big boy schools (= $$) wanting him. The track record for Devries and ‘offensive coordinator’ Coach Bergen is most definitely not a Nate Oats compare for pace of play. -
Slower week and the off-season, so thought I'd get our history buffs activated. Name your all-time IUBB defensive team. Say why... or don't! (of note - please don't turn this into a discussion of how good an all-around player Calbert or Isaih were -- we already know that! :) Ready... GO!!

Sam Alexis to Indiana from Florida

Alexis played a ton more during cupcake season for UF, and the very good block rate was in a much lower tier conference. -

If they sign either Federiko or Miller it's no longer clear, but I would still speculate that even then, Bailey starts at the five. We seem to have too much roster focus on the 1-3 (Wilkerson, Conerway, Miles, Dorn, Drake, Enright) and will start three of them, along with Tucker D and one other. I would guess the one other is Bailey. -

Text from my UF son, who is a bball player who grew up a rabid IU fan (and I suspect would still root for IU over his own school even after they just won the natty— I raised him right). My kid also sat in the first ten rows of the student section for every UF home game this year. This is what he’s got on Sam Alexis: “He’s not bad, he’s strong/decently athletic and can rebound and has some post moves. He’s a true center and not a very good defender and definitely not a rim protector. Hopefully he’s not a starter but he’s definitely decent.” I then asked him for a player comp and he said: “Kind of a shorter DeRon Davis before Davis got hurt.” -

No. We will need to perform to the expectations that Devries has a plan, and with players that he believes can and will execute that plan we will be a tourney team. I am so done with judging a roster based on star rankings and national media expectations. I want a proper college basketball lifer that knows what the **** he’s doing a puts a system and culture in place. -

Jason 'Deuce' Drake is a Hoosier!!!

Larry ‘Rocky’ Ohtani. Fat, sloppy, drunken sushi chef in Japan. Rarely shows up to work on time. Sneaks out for KFC xtra crunchycrispy during alley smoke breaks. An embarrassment to his brother Shohei. -
Sacrilege!! PS: I like cheesecake.

Imagine a game of 1-v-1 between Scary Larry and Tijan. There'd be blood and broken bones everywhere.

One of the comments in that tweet "I couldn't imagine anything better than running into Tom Crean in a Target." Agreed! And if I ever do, you can be damn sure that me and Coach Crean are gonna end up having lunch and talking hoops and life in general.

Other side of the coin... Full-on rotation players who were a defensive train wreck: James Blackmon Jr. Matt Roth Tom Pritchard Marty Simmons Mackenzie Mgbako

I started the thread, so I get to start: Bobby Wilkerson. Team Captain - best defensive player in IUBB history Victor Oladipo OG Anunoby - for the Jamal Murray tournament shutdown, and so much more. Quinn Buckner - strrrrong, and the other half of the best defensive backcourt in college basketball history Jared Jeffries - so long and so good Just missed my first five: Dane Fife, Dean Garrett, Chris Reynolds, Ray Tolbert, Jeff, Newton, Steve Downing

Nick Dorn to Indiana from Elon
Stuhoo replied to IU Prof's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Miles and Dorn apparently have similar skill sets and therefore I would assume that Miles will be an impediment to getting a commitment from Dorn. Players don't just want a bag of cash; they also want to envision the potential for a featured role. -

Baba Miller is a slightly less successful version of Reed Bailey. That's a good thing to be, but that's what Miller's skill set would bring.
