Imagine a game of 1-v-1 between Scary Larry and Tijan. There'd be blood and broken bones everywhere.

One of the comments in that tweet "I couldn't imagine anything better than running into Tom Crean in a Target." Agreed! And if I ever do, you can be damn sure that me and Coach Crean are gonna end up having lunch and talking hoops and life in general.

I started the thread, so I get to start: Bobby Wilkerson. Team Captain - best defensive player in IUBB history Victor Oladipo OG Anunoby - for the Jamal Murray tournament shutdown, and so much more. Quinn Buckner - strrrrong, and the other half of the best defensive backcourt in college basketball history Jared Jeffries - so long and so good Just missed my first five: Dane Fife, Dean Garrett, Chris Reynolds, Ray Tolbert, Jeff, Newton, Steve Downing

Nick Dorn to Indiana from Elon
Stuhoo replied to IU Prof's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Miles and Dorn apparently have similar skill sets and therefore I would assume that Miles will be an impediment to getting a commitment from Dorn. Players don't just want a bag of cash; they also want to envision the potential for a featured role. -
Transfer Portal w IU Interest

Baba Miller is a slightly less successful version of Reed Bailey. That's a good thing to be, but that's what Miller's skill set would bring. -

If you remember Little 500 weekend? Well you probably weren't there. -
Offer lists are 100% more indicative than ranking. But a true freshman as a top four DT on a ranked P5 team would still be a revelation. RB or WR? Sure- that is easier to see happening than a offensive or defensive lineman.
-
Wha?!!? A true freshman that is coming in as the 1,300+ composite ranked recruit? That would be a hell of a revelation. Tell me more.

NCAA Women's Bball Transfer Portal

Yup. I'd fully expect Socka, Shay, Beaumont, Noyan, and either Phoenix or Caffey to be the five. -

Borderline first round pick if he stays in the draft this year. So an immediate major impact player who would start at the 3 defensively for IU, but would probably be a point forward on offense. Gotta think there will be some major Duke/Kansas/UNC/UK competition for this kid. -
Another way of looking at it? These kids may get a college degree and have more maturity before leaving because of the financial inducement to stay in college longer

I love ^^this^^ post. Warren Zevon demands no apologies. “If California slides into the ocean, like the mystics and statistics say it will? I predict this motel will be standing, until I pay my bill.” The man was f-ing brilliant. RIP. -

2025-2026 IUBB Season Expectations
Stuhoo replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
100% true that you don't have to outright say it to imply it. And I have no doubt that if the first year goes badly, some of the 'less patient' fans will outright say it, or at least strongly imply it. But for now? I don't see anyone saying or implying that a bad first year is cause for termination. -

You are arguing against... no one. I see plenty of people stating that making the tourney the first year is their minimum expectation, but I don't see anyone stating that the consequence for not doing so should be to fire Devries after one year. -

In any other era I'd be with you on this one, Jaybob, but in an era where many top tier teams are turning over the majority of their roster each and every year? We have two key 'returnees'; both Tucker and Enright are completely immersed in Devries' system and will play key on-court roles. So I think that, absent some really key injuries, we should be a top 45-ish team and therein make the tourney year one. Hell, Devries lost two of his top three players last year and was first team out (and arguably got really screwed in not making it anyway). So, I think that Darian Devries would also disagree with Jaybob; he'd say, "hell yes we need to make the tourney year one!" Thankfully, I don't think it'll be an issue. We have plenty of talent and a schedule that will get us in as long as we win 19 + games. -
Transfer Portal w IU Interest

I have two thoughts that seem contradictory but are actually congruent: 1) I am very interested in the pieces that CDD thinks are worthy and their quality and stats. Yet ultimately 2) I don’t give a rat’s @$$ how well-regarded our new players are. I just care how well they play together and how much they WIN. -

We finally got our 6'11" guy who can run the floor, set screens, and defend the post. Only problem is that he's a 32 year old alum.

Is there any reason to believe he has been contacted by IU? I very much prefer Federiko. Same size and skill set, but Federiko has put those numbers together entirely against P5 competition. Vander Baan had two years at P5 level and was unplayable there.
