Not based on any inside information, and it seems unlikely given the current state of affairs... But I believe that Hanner Mosquera Perea will be a major factor for the Hoosiers next season.

I'm thinking this might be workable:

My Take on the O.W.I. Arrest, the Purdue Loss, and How to Keep a Positive Attitude
Stuhoo replied to DocLibby's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
"Cheer this group of young men on with the enthusiasm of a dog at a fire hydrant: take a whizz on it if you must, so long as you keep coming back with the same excitement." That line truly made me laugh out loud. As always, major kudos Doc. Overcoming adversity and excelling is extraordinarily satisfying, and leaves a good taste that lasts much longer than any temporary disappointment. -

Please...no Peter Jurkin jokes. In no particular order, I'll start: 1) Walking from the concourse, the first seconds into my view of the floor while going to seats. 2) Don Fischer on the mike 3) The traditions; all the things I love stay with the program decade after decade 4) Reminds me of my college days - just one of the great stages of my life that I am so blessed to have experienced 5) From my student days, scoring great lower level tickets in the parking lot thirty minutes before game time for $15.00 6) Darryl Thomas in the low post 7) Knowing that Coach Knight was smarter than whoever was on the other bench 8) Chris Reynolds and Victor Oladipo's on-ball defense 9) Dane Fife and Eric Suhr's off-ball defense 10) The band 11) Calbert Cheaney jump-stopping from 10 feet 12) Cody Zeller hedging out at a guard 13) Uwe Blab catching the ball consistently and hitting a bunch of hook shots by his senior year 14) Matt Nover outworking big guys who were way more talented than he was 15) Chuck Crabb

Hoosiers and Their Fans Must Forgive, Forget … and Fight on to the Finish
Stuhoo replied to DocLibby's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Ya know, it's kinda strange. I think the problem with college football and basketball players not getting paid is the system whereby they are the major feeders to the big money at the highest level. There's one big money sport that has few of these issues; baseball, where the primary feeder to the big pro money is a paid minor league. I'm not really offering a solution , I guess. Just saying that unless the D-league gets some major traction, this system is inherently flawed. -
I prefer to have a coach that recruits and plays COLLEGE students on my COLLEGE basketball team.

We don't want to live in a society in which individual police officers can indiscriminately decide when to enforce statutory violations such as class A misdemeanors and felonies. 'Nuff said.

It is no mystery why the Doc is a medical doctor, and her son(s) are, and will be extraordinarily successful: Talent Passion CONTEXT Focus Resiliency Doc; It is readily apparent that your disappointment and frustration are mitigated by well-placed pride and hope. As always... Kudos. -
Athletes should not be, and often are not held to a higher standard legally. For that, the standard should be the same. They are however held to a higher standard in that it is given that their indiscretions are aired publicly, and therein have a higher degree of embarrassment and fallout in public perception.

Everybody makes bad decisions in their life. It's how you handle them, whether you learn from them, whether you repeat them, and whether you improve yourself thereafter that is critical. We shall see.

Was in Orlando with the family over Xmas break. Got some Cyber-Monday tickets to the Magic game. We were there early enough for the shoot-around. My 7 1/2 is a serious IU basketball freak. He has not missed a minute of a game (thanks to the DVR and BTN) since the start of the 12 win season. The kid shoots for 45 minutes a day in the driveway and wears IU bball gear to his little league baseball games if we let him. Anyway, Vic comes off the court and towards the tunnel; I give the little guy my IU hat and a Sharpie and he practically leaps over the tunnel railing yelling "pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease". Victor sees him, we snap a mediocre phone picture, and VO signs the IU hat with "Victor Oladipo, #4, GO IU". Loved that he didn't put his new number with the Magic on there. The best.
