  1. Can PJ contribute during game situations against higher-level competition?   I know what Jeff Howard can do: he will provide maximum effort and awareness and most importantly, will not turn the ball over or make many mistakes. However, Jeff is limited from a physical standpoint.   With Peter, those that want to see him get game minutes need to understand that he will make mistakes; moving screens, bringing the ball down to where guards can swipe at it, and at times lesser reaction in help-side defense.   Moreover, I have no idea whether Peter's legs have healed to the point that he is able to play without limitations.   So; I pose this question to the gallery: Does anyone have any substantive info as to whether Peter is truly and finally healthy?
  2.   Hey, I'm a middle-aged hoops fan in the suburbs. My post is not necessarily an endorsement of Josh Cunningham. My point is that high-level players can be a little less tall and still very effective.    Seven footers aren't necessary. Matt Howard  (first example that came into my mind) took Butler to two straight national championship games as a 6'7" skinny center. Bobby Wilkerson jumped center and was a leading rebounder on an undefeated national champion as a 6'6" two-guard.
  3.   And that article was before last night's South Carolina loss.
  4.   We need tough, talented, hard working, good shooting basketball players.   To use an old phrase in a completely different way; "Size doesn't matter".
  5. And so it goes...welcome to next year's OAD kid playing for the cameras, Big Blew Nation!!   -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   "After nearly two decades, four divisional titles and a sectional crown, Piscataway Tech boys basketball coach Karl Towns Sr. is stepping down.   He is stepping away so he can more closely follow his son Karl Jr’s impending college basketball career at Kentucky. The younger Karl is a senior at St. Joseph-Metuchen High School and one of the top schoolboy talents in the country."
  6.  Retweeted by Joshua Cunningham Drew Messmer ‏@AllMetroDrew  1h #AllMetroHoops has confirmed that 2014 F Josh Cunningham (@JoshMCunningham) Morgan Park (IL) will be at Indiana today for IU vs. OSU game.
  7.   Ummm, SC got blown out by Manhattan and SC Upstate
  8. Define "wanting to take a close look?" We're seeing him on Thursday. He's already obviously a high-character kid . Therefore, if he's good enough offer him, get him on campus asap, and get him in the mix.
  9. 3.9 gpa student. Big and strong. Rapidly improving. High level rebounder. That's a pretty freakin' good resume in favor of wanting to take a close look at this young man.
  10.     Excuse me while I quote myself! And fix my quote while I'm at it! :)
  11. An interview with Josh Cunningham from ESPN; recent stuff!   http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:10530614
  12.   I would like to merge this post with the "Who Do You Think Will Be Our Next Commit" thread!

    B1G Opponents for 2014-2015

What I like about our B1G schedule next year:   ->  Three of our five "double plays" are against lower tier teams (Rutgers, PU, Maryland) ->  MSU should be down a bit after losing Harris, Payne, and Appling ->  Northwestern as a road game only; has the highest % of IU fans of any road arena ->  A single against Michigan; they will have a lot of talent returning ->  Always want to get a home and away with Purdue   What I don't like:   ->  Nebraska and Wisky are very, very tough places to travel to ->  A double against OSU; they have a lot coming back and a lot of talent coming in   All in all...I'll take it

    We've Got Really Good Mods

Yeah...what he said!   The only thing worse than a suck-up is a self-sucker (though in some cultures it is considered impressive if one is physically able to perform such a feat!)

    Noah stays or goes?

To quote one of my favorite BtownBanners posters:   Doc Libby ‏@DocLibby  13h @Noah_Vonleh Is a very very strong center that could increase his $$ by staying another year. It's the Cody situation all over again #iubb

    Robert Johnson

Tweener; listed at 6'3". Probably 6'1".

    Robert Johnson

Not as long and strong; potentially a much better shooter/scorer.   If all goes really well? Shabazz Napier

    The Future

Not based on any inside information, and it seems unlikely given the current state of affairs...   But I believe that Hanner Mosquera Perea will be a major factor for the Hoosiers next season.

    Iowa @ IU, postponed.

Nope! Tonight's promotion is "Flying Elvis' get in free".
  24. "Cheer this group of young men on with the enthusiasm of a dog at a fire hydrant: take a whizz on it if you must, so long as you keep coming back with the same excitement."   That line truly made me laugh out loud. As always, major kudos Doc.    Overcoming adversity and excelling is extraordinarily satisfying, and leaves a good taste that lasts much longer than any temporary disappointment.
