While I'm at it, huge kudos to Troy Williams. He is still, ahem, "un-refined" at  times, but today his athleticism was combined with incredible energy, and he was a big problem for Butler.

As a glass is half guy, allow me to call this a potential win-win:   Either:   A: We have an excellent year, recruiting picks up, etc. B: We have a progressively crappier and crappier year, and the cavalry arrives in the form of an new A+ coach.   Win-win.

  Not quite:   We need one out of Butler/Gtown. That would put us at 19-12 with wins over SMU, Pitt, Butler/Gtown, and at least 9-9 in conference would very likely include four attractive B1G wins. We only play NW and Penn St. once. To get to nine wins with w's over Rutgers twice, PU once, NW and Penn St, that would include four wins over good B1G resume-builder teams.    19-12 makes us an NCAA bubble team at worst, One B1G tourney win puts us at 20 wins, and we're in.

    I would hope that we are, at the very least... ... ... Wait for it... ... ... ... ... ... ... Semi-interested.

Not only does Purdue University suck,    ...so does their basketball team.   The transitive property does NOT apply, but in this case it's fun!!   St Peters beats Rutgers who beats Vandy who blows out Purdue.   So there.

  It probably goes without saying, but...great post.   The ultimate in good decision making from an AD and coach standpoint is reflected by the people that the AD and Coach choose to surround themselves with.   THAT is the ultimate recruiting decision: Which kids to concentrate on. The ones that have the proper combination of character and talent.    PS: The Boston Celtics dropped to 7-13 last night; just bad enough to be extraordinarily frustrating, and just good enough to prevent them from getting an instant impact player in next year's draft.
