Plus/Minus recap: With Ryan Burton, +12 Without Ryan Burton, -9
-
John Johnson has been suspended from the Penn State men's basketball team because of conduct inconsistent with team standards and values, Nittany Lion head coach Patrick Chambers announced Monday. Johnson will not participate in team activities during the suspension. Johnson is averaging 7.4 points on 43% shooting this year (37% from three). He hasn't started a game, but has been brought in off the bench as an offensive spark plug, averaging 20.6 minutes a game in the process. He has scored in double figures on five occasions this season, including a pair of 17-point performances against Cornell and Marshall and a 16-point outing in Penn State's last game against Michigan.

HMP likely out 2-4 weeks with a knee injury
Stuhoo replied to Rookie33's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
HMP has picked up his second foul within the first one minute, 45 seconds of each of the last two games. Think of the next four games as just like that, only a little bit earlier ;) Speedy recovery to Hanner; we will welcome back the big fella with much joy! -

Burton, yes. April? I doubt it. -

For what it's worth: Peegs Premium lets the non-subscribers read each post and thread's title, and it's sometimes a pretty good way to see what the primary topics of discussion are, including those that Rabjohns is highlighting. Thankfully, there is absolutely nothing about any form of injury in there. EDIT: Shucks - guess it's a real issue. -

The only thing I like better than Coach Bennie is that picture of Coach Bennie!!

If Congress spends LOTS of time investigating this, it may fill too much of their time to allow them to address other issues. And that's okay!

(2015) SF Khalil Iverson to Wisconsin
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Bigger programs are starting to notice him. Sounds like a high-character kid with very good court instincts, a 36" vertical, a 6'`10" wingspan, and not much of a jump shot. A very good article is attached, which gave me much more insight into what makes this young man tick: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2014/12/05/delaware-star-draws-plenty-of-attention.html -
Excellent. I am hoping for an SEC team (even likely one with similarly low admission standards) to beat down UK now and then.
-
Eric Bledsoe couldn't pass his high school courses, and it has been reported was functionally illiterate. Are you saying that his 3.0 gpa for his year at UK was legit in any way?!? Of course Cal is thrilled to get a kid like Poythress: a McD's AA who is an excellent student. That is not the litmus test. The real test is what Cal will do when kids that have NO interest in college academics are McD AAs (Bledsoe, JWall, Noel, James Young, Davis, Jones, to name a few). Oh, and though they are one and dones, but how many Cal scholly players that he's brought in at UK or Memphis (about nine years worth) have obtained a college degree? That's right...flat out zero. Victor Oladipo has more college degrees than all UK and Memphis Calipari scholly recruits from the past eight years...combined. Is it potentially within the rules? Yes Does it make a mockery of the concept of student -athlete. Absolutely.

AP: 34th (last week 32nd) Coaches: 37th (last week 34th)

True...both teams need these types of games on a semi-regular basis. However, it seems that there are about seven or eight B1G teams that fall in this category (IU, Iowa, MSU, UM, Neb, Minny, PU, Illini). Sooooo, there will be a lot of games that fall into this category. In other words, this would be a big win, as it would put us at 2-0 in the "winnable, but not easy" games. However, it is far from a must-win, as the worst we can be is 1-1 after two road games against against that 3rd-11th in the B1G category.

Yes, Dawson is back, though he's been a major part of their offensive woes. As Trice goes, so goes MSU. Yogi needs to lock down and lead the way tonight!
-
Hanner has been considerably better than Goodluck this year, especially lately.
-
Maybe Holowell will be in town visiting family and will hook up with AJ!

Now THAT's funny! -

What I could gather from Peegs thread titles only is that the dreaded boot is back, and that this is not a new thing this year for Hanner. At least I hope that's all there is to it. -
Don't worry Sco. Your avatar will fix that next year.

Been a lot of basketball to comment on during those two and a half months. Since we apparently are "friends", as a favor for me, please summarize your thoughts on the basketball played over the last two and one half months in 17 words. Not 16 or 18. Exactly 17. Don't ask why, and don't comment on the number 17's importance. Someday you will understand. ccgeneral already knows why, and someday you should too! Oh, and also, no acronyms please (each acronym letter will count as a word if they are used). Mucho appreciado. Oh, and FYI, I don't wanna hear words in any of them funny foreign languages. (see, that gets ya right up to 17 real quick in that there sentence!) Gracias Thanks

It took you two and a half months to come up with this response? Must be a slow Saturday night in Plasticjimmyhat land!

Don't forget, Emmitt is a very young freshman, and I remember reading that he still may be growing. A 6'8" Holt with a summer of conditioning is a legit big. -
CTC not better than all, but... CTC > Coach Steve Alford.
