Ahem...Calipari and Crean have gone head to head for three Indiana high school recruits. 1) Marques Teague: A nice player, who had ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION OF PURSUING COLLEGE STUDIES. 2) Trey Lyles: Who, if you believe Dakich and others, spurned IU only after daddy Tom Lyles demanded a salary be placed in his back pocket. and 3) James Blackmon Jr.

Supposedly has a "throat infection" Missing his third straight game with said throat ailment. Not even traveling with the team. His dad is still the infamous Tom Lyles. Me smelleth something fishy.

UK has lost the ability to participate in a interstate rivalry on the campuses of two longstanding powerhouse programs. In front of their fans! In their respective home arenas! On the campuses of the Universities! Holy crap...college athletes that can play a big rivalry game in front of college students!! Some of my fondest memories of IU are of walking to Assembly Hall on a cold fall night for a big game. UK students don't even have an on campus arena, but they can relish a three mile walk to their big home matchup against...Texas A&M. It fits the UK model: Big-time players who don't live among college students, who have no intention of getting a college degree, playing in a pro arena.

Hmmmm...maybe we could try that. I'm pretty sure that CTC would prefer anything to Jeremiah April -

C'mon, Naples...I'm ready to throw down! :120: Yes, it would be ggrrrrrrrrreat to get a 19 year old Kent Benson, Cody Zeller, or Dean Garrett added to the mix, but a 6'11'' + low post big is not the only way to skin a defensive cat! Holt has excellent defensive instincts. Hanner...not so much. Juwan, some juco...who knows! -

We do not need a center. I am tired of hearing that we HAVE to have a traditional center. We need interior defense. To play effective defense a team does not need a traditional center. The defending national champion used a 6'8-9" big last year, and Michigan made the final four with Jordan Morgan in the middle. We need interior defense. -
Probably just strep, but... 1) Maybe not. 2) If it is just strep, UK went to extraordinary efforts to make it appear fishy. 3) It's fun to make fun of UK!

Per Kentucky Sports Radio: He won’t play Tuesday and I am hearing it is 50/50 whether he will play on Saturday. For the first time, Calipari called the issue “strep” and said that he thinks he is better. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That'll make five games over three weeks for strep. Uhhhhhh......no.

I am cautiously predicting that like last year, the B1G collective record for conference play this year will be EXACTLY .500. ;)

(2015) C Caleb Swanigan to MSU
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
If Caleb Swanigan's current trend continues, it "Looks like (he will play for the) University of Illinois!!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i37uttMA6Mc -
Back in June, he missed a two week trip because of an undefined "leg injury": Kentucky Basketball @KentuckyMBB Follow Trey Lyles is recovering from a medical procedure on his left leg. 11:35 AM - 24 Jun 2014

By the way, Juwan Morgan is also a big time athlete with Academic All American potential. I am very, very happy with our two 2015 additions.
-
Geez. He looks A LOT like Troy in that video. That is, Troy with a straight A gpa and a dad with an MBA from IU.
-
Maker worries me quite a bit too. In fact, any kid that comes to IU with no interest in obtaining a college degree worries me. I DO NOT WANT TO BE KENTUCKY (dammit).
-
PS: I want IU to recruit and get five star players. I just don't want them to be named Jaquan Lyle or Caleb Swanigan.

You're being too snarky for my taste; I'm trying to speak factually. I hope you're not implying that the following might not be true because it was reported on the internet: The suspensions are on the internet, and they are true. The academic dismissal from Oregon is on the internet, and it is true. The picture of him with the Mustang and the decommitment from Louisville are on the internet, and they are true. The videos of him berating teammates on the court, and walking off the court during games are on the internet, and they are true. You wanted proof positive that some of the negative stuff about Lyle is confirmed. Not sure what you were hoping for...secret Stuhoo undercover video?
-
All you have to do is Google "Jaquan Lyle red flags". There is too much to cut and paste. From the Oregon dismissal, to the suspensions, to the new red Mustang that he tweeted a picture of and admitted getting the same week he committed to Louisville, to the many many, many people who have posted from the Evansville area attesting to his volatile personality and lack of maturity.
-
I think I can summarize the feelings of myself and many on this board by saying that: We do not want Jaquan Lyle playing against us. We do not want Jaquan Lyle playing for us.

Who this team is and where they're going
Stuhoo replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
And you Coop, are no sunshine-pumper. Look, I am NOT saying that this is a tiny bump on this team's road to glory. What I am saying is that so far this year the good has outweighed the bad, that we have pieces that could play for a national championship down the road, but that we have some big holes to fill if we ever want to seriously have that discussion. Vent, be frustrated, but keep perspective. -
I expect our coach to be an unqualified, unmistakably cranky-assed bastahd after a piece of crap loss to Purdoo. Anything less would piss me off that much more. Of course I was raised on Bobby Knight post-loss vitrol, which made me feel that I wasn't the only one massively pissed off after a loss.
