Anthony Grant out at Alabama Alabama has fired head coach Anthony Grant, the school announced Sunday.   Grant, 48, was with the Crimson Tide for six seasons, winning at least 20 games three times and making an NCAA tournament appearance in 2012. He also led Alabama to a pair of NIT appearances, reaching the championship game in 2011. After getting off to a 12-3 start this season, Alabama struggled over the final two months of the season, finishing 18-14 overall and tied for eighth in the SEC.   If 18-14 while struggling down the stretch gets you fired at Alabama, what does 17-15, 20-13 get you at Indiana University? I think I see the future.

    Ooohh. Let's give him a test:   1) How many final fours was Calipari in before he came to UK?   2) How many total college degrees have been earned by Coach Cal scholly recruits in the seven years he's been at UK?   Hint: It's the same number!

Emmitt Holt was excellent. And not just because Dakich said so.   Need to keep in mind, he didn't join the team til late August; he started out surpisingly well, but now he is truly becoming comfortable.   And next year, he will be comfortable and ten pounds stronger.

Nice, solid win.   I think we'll be playing without Hanner for the rest of the season, which takes the edge off of my happytude.

  Swanigan is also an example of a high school player who lives in the house of a professional sports agent.   Not saying that our staff doesn't entertain kids with "handlers' (Thon), but Swanigan's handler is a freakin' pro agent!

    Is that pure conjecture, or have you heard/read that from a confirmed/reliable source?   If so, not what I'm hoping to hear coming from an IU basketball coach..
