Shame on you. Will has not had enough offensive production for your liking? Fine. Not a good post IMO. -

Add one more to Charlie's list! Jeremy, Yogi, Hanner, WIll I also assume that he doesn't think PJ, Collin, or Austin are ready for prime time. IU Charlie is gonna be rooting for only two or three rotation Hoosiers that he thinks are worth his time pretty soon. -

(2015) C Daniel Giddens to OSU
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I agree with this. However, by the time 2015 rolls around, the chances of PJ still being on the team are pretty darn low, and the chances of Hanner still being an unfulfilled project are also quite low. That would mean that any project big man who comes in 2015 would be the only project big, with Hanner, Luke, Devin, and Jeremy holding down the PF and C spots. -

Thank you for entitling me to my opinion! (tic) Are you asking me if I'd rather have the next Noah Vonleh instead? Sure! Or, are you wondering whether an ultra-athletic rim protector that our staff feels will develop is a great get? Absolutely; want that kid too. -

Hanner's potential has nothing whatsoever in common with the potential of PJ or Bawa. You let me add a Hanner Perea to the team every three years? I would be thrilled. -

Call it a hunch, but I think that Stan Robinson gets a starting nod tonight. -

Not for nothing, though he would not have been helpful last year, For this season... Wouldn't Matt Roth be the absolute perfect role player? -

Just tweaking you...no worries! I think that Hollowell, Perea and Fischer need lots of minutes against the cupcakes because of their upside, but I betcha that either Stan or Evan is starting soon. -

And, from the 247 board: "Why not? The best players should start, Hollowell is not one of them. Hollowell is probably the 7th maybe 8th best player on the team." Charlie; You're running out of players to root for! -

Freshmen in the Carrier Dome get cold feet? No revelation there. It's not good news, but it is to be expected and will work itself out by mid-season. I'm much more concerned with our lack of a consistent three point threat. That may not work itself until next year. But defensively? We're already almost there. -

Losing to #4 'Cuse at the Carrier Dome with primarily players who are still figuring it out? It's OK...and I like our team. A lot. -
It's time for me to posit a theory on Purdue and IU bball without the usual trash talking: Over the past three or four years, other than two top fifteen players (Cody and Noah), the coming out of high school "star power" of IU and Purdue has been pretty similar. Both squads have a bunch of four and three star players, and both have plenty of athleticism. Don't think so? Anthony Johnson, AJ Hammons, Kendall Stephens, Kelsey Barlow and Ronnie Johnson, among others, have all been four stars with excellent athleticism. In addition, Matt Painter has previously proven that he can coach when given four star talent. So, what is the difference between Yogi and Ronnie, between AJ and our bigs, and between Stephens or Davis and our wings? I'll tell you what the difference is: Coach Crean has said it again and again, and he means it. The primary characteristics that Coach Crean recruits for that Matt Painter does not are character, intelligence, and work ethic. If any of you have coached youth sports, you'll know that there is always a kid or two that looks great during tryouts, but never grasps the team concept. Purdue currently has a whole lotta players that were very, very good when their high school team cleared out for them as the primary option. However, those kids do not have the work ethic, character, or intelligence to buy into the team concepts of using their athleticism to play team defense, share the ball, and space the court. Kentucky had similar problems last year, and may have them again this year. Good for Coach Tom Crean, and great for Indiana University basketball.

The Difference Between the IU and PU Squads
Stuhoo replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Interesting points. I think the best point is when you say that Painter has to "settle". Very true. CTC has been able to bring in talent WITH character, whereas Painter often has to choose between talent OR character. PS; I am becoming more and more convinced that AJ Hammons is turning into Ralph Sampson Jr......junior.
