Ahem, Victor Oladipo got to make that money AND has the college degree. And I betcha he likes it that way.
-
When they leave after only one year, they very seldom come back for the degree.

CTC @ Hamilton Heights tonight
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Ummm...cc - I believe that Bloomington North has a 6'2" freshman small forward named: ... ... ...wait for it... ... ... ... ... Riley Crean! (Hope the younger Mr. Crean is a player...I think we've got a shot in this recruitment!!!) -
Sorry cc; Leaf ended up at UCLA with Alford. It was a true heartbreaker; we were in his final two!
-
I'm bored and my mind is wandering. Sooo.....I decided to put together a starting lineup for three years from now, I'm using today's freshmen and any recruit that I darn well please that I think has a legit chance of being a Hoosier. Please save this post; I am known to have end-of days and basketball prophecies that are occasionally uncannily accurate (except when they're not). Here ya' go: G: Eron Gordon (Fr) G: Robert Johnson (Jr) F: Aaron Jordan (So) F: Devin Davis (Sr) C: Luke Fischer (Sr) Bench: Stan Robinson (Sr) Max Hoetzel (Jr) Braxton Blackwell (Fr) Collin Hartman (Sr) Derrik Smits (So) Kyle Guy (Fr) Appearing in an NBA arena near you: Noah Vonleh Troy Williams James Blackmon, Jr

To be an injured late first round draft pick without a guaranteed contract, and NO chance at a college degree? That sounds like University of Kentucky logic. I'd rather have my kid stay back, get a Michigan degree, and have some life skills toward his future. This is exactly why young players SHOULD stay in college!

And nine rebounds. And no turnovers.

Recipe for next year: Select two highly competitive, fantastic long range shooting two guards. Insert one into starting lineup. Enjoy in ten months. Watch it cook.

Rapid Reacton IU vs. 2nd to last cupcake
Stuhoo replied to mdn82's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
First time for six of our thirteen having college finals week. Lots (and lots) of experimentation; with different defenses, with pace, with pressing. A very uninteresting opponent. All of that equals a game that was not particularly enjoyable to watch, but was probably fairly productive toward the education and improvement of an inexperienced group. I expect the final cupcake game to have us in a more focused state of performance. -
AH to be renamed Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall

Then it could be the KFC YUK Center! lol. -
And...in IU women's bball, there will be no early entries or OADs!

Indiana vs Notre Dame Post-Game Thread
Stuhoo replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wow, Jaybob: I was gonna post my thoughts, but you related what I'm thinking so well that all I have to do is say ^^^ "see above".^^^ -
Sorry, dude. A dude shouldn't du(de) that to another dude's dudehood!
-
How many players on the roster do you want to get significant minutes? We already have ten. Who would you like to take minutes away from?
-
Noah had a game this year with 0 points and two rebounds. This apparently makes it absolutely clear (even more so than with Max H) that Noah will not be able to play at the next level.
-
Vic is killing it tonight: 22 points, 3 steals, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, through three quarters!

OT: High Comedy - A Reporter Takes PaypalCal to Task
Stuhoo posted a topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Great stuff from Coach Calichicken's presser: The topic: Why are you flying to a neutral court ice storm game in Texas yet not playing Indiana? Cal: "We offered to play them and they said no". Reporter: "That's not true". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHXP2z2_Dmc -

EVEN MORE UK HIGH COMEDY!!! Don't miss this one; a caller in to Kentucky Sports Radio waxes poetic about how UK students' priorities are out of whack. Why, you ask? Because student attendance at games is down due to too much attention by non-basketball players to education and research. Enjoy: http://kentuckysportsradio.com/main/chester-questions-uks-priorities-in-one-of-his-best-calls/ -
Indiana vs. Oakland Post-Game Thread
Stuhoo replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
A player's ability to properly space the floor has NOTHING to do with his three point shooting stroke. Some people on "these boards" thought that HP was a one-and-done? And you believed them? They were wrong, and you were naive and gullible. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hint for next year: James Blackmon Jr. is not a one-and-done, Robert Johnson is not an early entry candidate, and Max Hoetzel is not likely to be a rotation player until his junior year. You heard it here first, and it's true. -

Your damn right Will Sheehey's work ethic, leadership skills, defense, and court spacing are cool. I'm not sure why in the world you would think it's ok to be condescending toward a player who excels in those attributes. As for the others, your expectations for players who are far less than halfway through their IU bball careers are completely unrealistic. -
Indiana vs. Oakland Post-Game Thread
Stuhoo replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You're wrong. -Yogi is our best outside shooter, a great kid, a leader, a very good on ball defender, and through his talent, skill, and quickness constantly draws defensive attention away from other players. -Will is our on court and at-practice leader, and was instrumental in establishing the work ethic that has improved Every. Single. Player. at IU. He's also a very savvy offensive player, and a plus defender. He hasn't shot well for a week or two? Oh well. Jeremy and Hanner are immensely talented players who have only been in the rotation for about 6 weeks in their IU careers, and are improving every month. They will be championship-caliber rotation players by the end of their junior years, if not earlier. It's absolutely your prerogative to keep slamming all four of them, but YOU. ARE. WRONG. -
Yogi's outside shooting may seem too prolific to some, but I believe the fan base is missing its huge value: Yogi Ferrell is the only current Hoosier that can create his own shot at the end of the shot clock or when the offense is bogged down. That may produce at times what looks to be a bad shot choice, but is nevertheless an invaluable asset to the team.

(2015) SG Malachi Richardson to Syracuse
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Aaron Jordan is not just a fantastic player. He is exactly the kind of kid, from the kind of family, that will make Hoosier Nation proud. I want Aaron Jordan, TJ Leaf, and Kyle Guy on my side, please. -

Also guessing it's Syracuse. Can't imagine there's evidence to the contrary.
