  1. I put $100 on Rutgers to win it all. Got good odds though! ;)
  2. Ummm, just sayin' ... If my recent memory serves me, there was a team that pretty recently won the B1G title outright by two full games.
  3. Cody, Wat, Vic, Will, Elston, Pritch. This group should be better, though. Especially in regard to quality depth and defensive rim protection. G-d bless it we are gonna have three or four outstanding defensive rim protectors!!! Heaven.
  4. A lineup of Rojo, JBj, TB, OG, and Colinn is without any doubt better than UK's five star freshmen temporary mercenaries. Period.
  5. Not quite: Troy has his degree. He will go pro. No inside info here, but I betcha I'm right. Put Collin back in the starting lineup; he provides good post passing, court sense, leadership, and outside shooting.
  6. Our frontcourt next year: TB, DeRon, Juwan, OG, Collin. STACKED.
  7. CTC showed tremendous progress in that area last season, even with all of those shooters on the court. Our offense has been consistently excellent for the past two years. The difference last year? TB and Max in the post instead of Hanner and Collinn. Additionally, Davis will not be anywhere near the low post scorer that TB is, though I assume that going against TB in practice will gear him toward that skill. Also, we will still have more than a few very, very good outside shooters: RoJo, Hartman, OG, Juwan, Josh N., Cujo, Devonte, and...JBj will be firing away again!
  8. The push for #6...begins.
  9. I wouldn't read too much into the "no recent offers for a big" dynamic. We have DeRon Davis, our young talented big, already signed and on the way. If we lose TB, it would be far more likely we'd be looking for a Max Bielfeldt type to fill the gap.

  11. Mostly true. If a player is top 15, there's lots of guaranteed money, and a future knee injury can't change that. If a player isn't top 15, a knee injury after getting that agent can lead an immature 19 year old down a very, very rocky road. IMO, players develop better in the pros than in college. Add that to the fact that Troy has his degree; and I think he oughta go. TB is not likely top 15; I think he oughta stay. PS: The rules that the 'adults' made...suck.
  12. It would also be nice if our student athletes consider the value of staying long enough to obtain, or be within close reach of obtaining, a college degree.
  13. Oh good lord. Everything is looking great EXCEPT for with the most important position on the field? Good grief

    Late 2016 signing/Grad Transfer

How crazy do we have to go if we want Spike Albrecht? ;)
  15. If that's what we're looking at, we are gonna have a whole lot of fun next year.

    College Bball Thread

Purdue is running out of scholly players. Including the incoming freshman, they have nine for next year; eight if Swanigan goes.

    Declaring early for the draft

Corey Sanders of Rutgers will be exploring his NBA Draft options, but not hiring an agent. I believe that Tall Tim Priller has as much chance of positive NBA feedback (MSB, on the other hand, would be an NBA hyper-star;)!

    Spike Albrecht....

    Would be a great get.

2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU

    "Freaky Freddie"??
  20. He came to IU to become a better basketball player, and to obtain a college degree. He has done both.

2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU

From the Bradley Bball forum: tornado Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 38,416 Freddie is a freak...like I have said - many of his juco games were available on streaming and anyone who watched would have been impressed...and he's still getting better... he's a mix of Chris Roberts' athleticism and dunking ability plus Theron Wilson's nose for the ball and scoring ability, but he's built like Marcus Pollard and could play center if necessary. Freddie knows a lot about some of the teams he has been recruited by and he's even tweeted about things he has read on their sites...so I know he sees that the BU fans love their team. Most of his offers are very low mid-majors and I would be surprised if he takes visits to many of those... The fact that he is coming to BU first says just maybe it's all he will need to make a commitment - hope so....he's be a huge fan favorite and he'd be adored by the crowds of 10,000 in Bradley's Carver Arena.

2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU

3/9/2016 Three Panthers named to the All-Region VI Tournament Team Neosho County Athletics Three Neosho County men's basketball players received post-season honors on the All-Region VI Division I Tournament team. The final Panther that received post season honors and was awarded Region VI Tournament MVP is sophomore Freddie McSwain. Freddie averaged 13.3 points per game and 12 rebounds per game over the four Region tournament games. "Freddie has had a great season and it carried over into the Region VI tournament." Coach Jeremy Coombs said "Freddie and Rich are the best one two punch in the conference and with their ability to rebound above the rim they allow us to control the glass night in and night out." Freddie was also named 1st All-KJCCC and 1st team All-Region.
  23. It is extremely rewarding to be a D1 high major scholarship athlete. It would be extraordinarily unlikely that a player would consider it to be in their own best interests to voluntarily give that up.
  24. I think you understand it correctly, but that would have to be Tim's choice, and it is hard to imagine that would be his preference.

(2016) PG Devonte Green to INDIANA

That's why I think that Josh can be so good for next year. He has the talent, the skill, the shooting ability, and most importantly, the personal charisma, confidence, and intelligence. Consistency comes with time, and he now has had that too.
