    Game Thread - Beat. Michigan.

Sudfeld finished that game. And I don't care if he only threw 1 TD. He had no INTs and finished with a very solid 128 QBR. And we won, on the road.   People can marginalize it all they want. Mizzou finished with a top 25 defense, and were ranked top 20 in Sagarin, FEI, and S&P. They were a good team. I just think it sometimes doesn't get the credit it deserves because of how the season unfolded after Suds got injured (damm I wish Wynn would have caught that ball).   Oh well  Go Hoosiers!

    Game Thread - Beat. Michigan.

He beat 18th ranked, two time SEC East champion Missouri on the road. Or does that not count because he got hurt and the season fell apart?

I believe they sued them and reached a settlement. Seattle pays a licensing fee to use the phrase.

    2012-2013 vs. 2015-2016

I didn't say they handled it pretty well. I said they would disagree with the premise that 6' guards "can't do anything" against that zone. In the 3 games Smith averaged 17 and Siva averaged 6 assists, won twice and lost by 2. That is something.   Was it a bad match-up, sure. Insurmountable, no.   Sorry for the thread hijack mods.

    2012-2013 vs. 2015-2016

Peyton Siva and Russ Smith disagree.
  10. Bama-LSU   Hate on the SEC all you want, but this is some high level semi-pro football.

    Let's Talk Hockey

It should probably be mentioned that hockey groupies tend to be extremely hot, thus greatly enhancing the best sport live aspect.

    Bowl Projections after week 6

The monetary impact of playing in a bowl would be negligible. Under the B1G revenue sharing model we basically get the same $ whether we sit at home or play in the Rose Bowl. B1G also gives teams a predetermined amount if they are a bowl participant to cover travel expenses.   The three weeks of extra practice is another story.

    Bowl Projections after week 6

"not near as bad" and "may be better" are entirely different statements to me.  Which one we are going with for future reference? ;)   I suppose addressing just how good or bad they actually are presupposes  the actual skill of the players. But your only evidence of that skill being better than the record suggests is that they played a bunch of good teams, and didn't look particularly good while doing so. Just curious as to what you see in them that makes them better than a below/slightly below average B1G team.   They looked absolutely horrid against WVU but the parts of their game I caught last week against Penn St they looked better. With a new coaching regime, I'm not sure what to expect when we head out there.

    Bowl Projections after week 6

Except you didn't really discuss the skill level of our opponents. You pointed out their difficult schedule, admitted they got creamed, and deduced they are not near as bad as their record ( 94th ranked O and 104th ranked D  notwithstanding). Then came the obligatory shot that we'd have just as crappy a record as them if we played that schedule.   As far as any realistic IUFB fan thinking a road conference game will be easy, probably not very likely, but thanks for repeatedly telling us just how we should approach IU football.   BTW, your quote in your first post "only have to beat Maryland on the road" doesn't occur in the article. Did you get it from the comments section or just paraphrase your interpretation since, you know, it might fit your narrative better?

    Prepare early for a meltdown!!!

Meltdowns are pretty much why I hang out here. I have a $400 monthly DirectTV bill and still can't buy that quality of entertainment.

  20. The ruling on the field was that the ball hit inbounds just before it hit the pylon. I never saw a good replay of it and Wilson never challenged it. But then again I find myself doubting Wilson too often these days.

    Indiana vs Rutgers Game Thread

They're both important, and a lot of it depends and the QB in question.   Its a transfer of weight issue. Suds is a power passer, watch his mechanics when he throws, he almost always has a big follow thru, putting a lot of stress on his landing foot. Yes, he generates some power from his plant foot, but his weight is rarely shifted all to his back foot. In high school you can get away with baseball type wind-up mechanics, Division 1 QBs don't have that luxury because of the speed of the game. That extra second it takes to transfer weight all the way back and all the way thru will get you hit. Often. And hard.
