For me, it’s too extreme to put that much stock in a single elimination tournament. Still quite a bit of luck that gets tossed into it. The body of work is more critical, imo, as any team can get insanely hot with the right draw. And then you could be stuck in their way. Us against Syracuse would be one that comes to mind. I am not saying he is the man or not, but either side trying to pull a gotcha from a single - single elimination tourney is more looking for ammo than outcomes.

Agreed. IU I could be talked into either direction. But UNC over WVU, and trying to act like it was due to that injury? What are we doing here? That is just absurd and with that statement shows what this was all about. Really disappointing and a lot could be said about hiring 12-15 people with the passion you have and no financial upside determining who makes it.

Completely agree, and hopefully Cooper can heal quickly. I was looking forward to watching him in this environment. Definitely have a team to get there if he is healthy enough. Not a bad draw either.

Should win in March and do win in March aren’t usually mutually exclusive. Things happen. Auburn happens to have lost 3 of 4 going into the tournament. Cooper’s ability to play due to an awful timed injury. They aren’t that ahead of a team getting hot in March in a single elimination tournament. IMO

I think that’s about the biggest thing that could salvage this week for those of us that take this week in PTO for the purpose of ensuring I watch IU in the tournament. Will enjoy it no doubt, but it’s not the same with IU out.

Oregon looks like the only 5 with a favorable matchup this year. Have to at least pick 2-12 seeds this year. I worry about UM playing all those games and have to turnaround and play a Thursday game in Denver at that altitude.

Thought the same with Purdue on the 4 line. But man there is no way they can justify UNC over WVU. That’s just bad. Louisville in the 8/9, I think is pretty rough too.

Wow Jay Williams just went out on a limb. Every Elite 8 game is a 1-2 matchup and every final four team was a 1 seed. Hope he doesn’t hurt himself there.

This is the team I felt got screwed the most today.

Wow, all they can talk about on ESPN in picking UNC is SOS and WAB. I get WAB, but what good is SOS if you win 1 game of the games that give you that SOS? Would feel better if they won like 3-4 more Quad 1’s and lose one of the Quad 2’s. To sit up there and act like 8-0 in Quad 2 is a great stat and determinant of them making the NCAAT is absurd. Again, when the UNC AD is the chair, that is not a good look. IMO. Not even from an Indiana slant. I felt WV had a better case over 2-3 teams.
