And I thought 25 years of losing and 6 head coaches would cause that. At least that’s what I was told with each coach. Good news. Dolson still has a blank check for the basketball program with donors who are more worried about wins at this point. Those are the people Dolson is trying to impress.

To the last point we are still talking about the University that could have hired many more qualified individuals and landed on Mike Davis to appease a group of kids that wouldn’t be there more than 5 minutes anyway. I do not think they look past their nose, and that hasn’t changed in 25 years.

This is our Olympics. As a football school this is our only entertainment in March every four years.

I am pretty sure they are and that’s what I meant with my initial list discussion. Not the committee. I have zero clue on Steven’s one way or another, or any actual names on that list beyond Beard. But as much as I saw it from close to a decade with unique window, I know the school will put stuff out on boards to control a narrative if they don’t like what’s out there. So I don’t know if that’s them putting up a smokescreen to temper expectations or not. At some point it will be obvious when they start flying places.

Or the athletic office could be putting stuff out there to temper expectations from Stevens with them knowing Beard would piss a small portion off. They aren’t above that.

No doubt. Just high level information gathering probably more than anything. Putting feelers out there to agents. Maybe connecting on a first call. Probably not more than that. I wish I could bill what they do for what they provide.

Agreed. To that point I have only heard Beard’s name with any level of certainty. No clue who else will get an interview. The only thing I ever heard in regards to this search was they had lined up a top 5 NIL budget for years to throw at the new coach. I haven’t heard salary being discussed like others. This has been the quietest search since Knight was fired. Easily.

If you want to argue on the basis of productivity, all discussions on this board are a waste of time. Just ask all the employers of fans on this site the last 3 or 4 weeks and tell me productivity didn't decrease... I am equal opportunity lazy. Whether it’s during a coaching search, or mid July, or mid October, steady as she goes. Under promise. Over deliver. Just don’t ever let them assume your productivity is decreasing by decreasing it day 1. Gentleman, that is how you maintain the amount of posts I have had on various forums over the years. It all pays the same and nobody is ever disappointed.

That may be, but he got more hate than anyone in my lifetime not name Luke Recker or Neil Reid. Let alone forum traffic. Do you feel others got more hate than him over the last 40 years? That’s really as far back as I can go.

Yeah. He was the most hated man on IU boards that I moderated since Wright. Probably since Recker.

With a new coach coming in, you may as well have a blank board and say there is opportunity for change. Nobody under scholarship is 100% coming back. Would be really surprised if more than a handful come back. I guarantee teams are already talking to MgBako, Reneau, etc.
