I definitely get what you are saying and I think you are basing your thoughts on what this means for future success. I say enjoy it because it doesn’t happen often. I think that’s where I am because we play weak schedules like this every year. Our non conference is weak every year. B1G always has teams that surprise, teams that suck, and teams we won’t beat. I think us doing what we should is a huge step in the right direction. Whether that leads to future success I don’t know. I am enjoying getting to 8-4 and hoping we get to 9 wins. I can almost guarantee every season we got to 8 wins we weren’t playing many teams with winning records. That said we may go 6-6 and we are still moving in the right direction. I think everyone gets that end of it but they also realize we have had this type of schedule over the years and still did not get to 8-4. It’s IU football. We have never beat who we should. I think the thing Lucel is saying is do you remember who all we beat in 93 without looking it up? We beat one ranked team that year and they ended up 6-6. No team we beat that year had a winning record either. We mainly beat up on very bad teams that year too. Our teams we beat that year had a collective 33 wins. No I am trying to say you are trying to compare since something happened in basketball it should create a pass in football. At Indiana. It doesn’t work like that. There are reasons why the boosters love it and CAM is recruiting the way he is. This is like saying since the football program at Notre Dame does something it’s ok for the basketball team. There are explicit differences between the basketball and football programs. If you can’t see that I don’t know what to say. It’s not as personal and dramatic as what you are making it. He definitely deserves a raise and an extension, but I have no clue how Archie Miller entered the discussion. You have always had a hate/jealous relationship with IU basketball, but comparing football recruiting in this state and the level of importance to basketball recruiting is just a bad comparison. Tom Allen could win with all walkons from Russia and nobody would give a damn as long as we win. We just want to win. But if you win at Indiana with a Trayce Jackson-Davis it will mean something to not only the fans but the boosters. I hope we keep doing what we are doing and the powers that be continue to move on capital projects for football exclusively. It doesn’t have to be a football vs basketball thing. They aren’t mutually exclusive. Never have been. Never will be. The thought processes that go into decisions have never been the same. Never have been. Never will be. Honestly this was the least complained in game thread I have seen all season for basketball. Football? That is another story. The basketball game was just one of them games. We got up ten in a quick burst. Then we stayed in the same range for most of the rest of the game. It wasn’t really ever in doubt. I think the Tuesday crowd will help out. It wasn’t even about the shots. The offense as a whole was non existent. No movement. Our shot selection was atrocious. The shots they were taking I am honestly surprised we hit 41%. Then we had wide open layups that didn’t hit the rim. Our freshman PG taking 3’s on multiple possessions early in the shot clock. Al not making good decisions with the ball. Then you had your freshman future lottery pick carrying the team to the win. Doing it at both ends of the court. The offense as a whole needs to be better Tuesday for us to have a chance.
