Right now I think most bracketologists would have us in that 5 or 6 seed range based on what others have done. I still think there is room to move way up or down depending on conference. I feel there are a lot of teams of equal talent. There are really only one or two teams that stand above the rest. If anyone would have told me we would have only one loss going into the Arkansas game I would have been pretty happy with that. Hopefully it continues. Going to Breslin was on me. That was just dumb. But I have seen them in Bloomington, Indy, and Chicago. Never a good experience. With UL I saw a couple of fights in a couple different instances. I always thought UK was loud but not abusive. Illinois fans can be bad. Purdue fans are loud but they really have nothing. Duke fans remind me of Notre Dame football fans. To be fair the one breastfeeding her 6 week old besides me most of Elite 8 game against Michigan at Lucas Oil a few years back was pretty reasonable. I think that’s the longest I ever stared a woman in her eyes with my wife sitting next to me. She did put headphones over that kids ear but it didn’t work. For sure. It will change a little as teams will fluctuate based on their play. I imagine we will end up close to 40-50 in the nation. Northwestern and us will be very close. They may end up behind us. Maybe Nebraska? But I wouldn’t think anyone other than that. Like if we ended up with 5 losses overall our SOS will not hurt us from getting a top seed if that’s what we are worried about. Texas Tech has 164 SOS with 3 losses. We are 134 with 1 loss. They have 3 losses against top 60 teams using RPI while beating Louisville. 5 of the 7 wins beyond UL were RPi 269 or worse. They have 2 wins in the 125-140 range. We have 6 wins from 169 to 215. Win against 8 and 85 while losing to 63. Just using RPI because I am lazy and it was right there. Nobody outside of Southern Indiana fans remotely think IU vs UK is bigger than IU vs PU. It’s UK vs UL. It’s IU vs PU. The whole neutral site thing was a Calipari/recruiting thing. At that time he was coming into this state every year. He didn’t want them to come watch IU vs UK in AH. We offered a home and home, along with neutral/neutral for a four year cycle. Shortsighted? I personally don’t think so. But I have seen this song and dance play out a few times over with Kentucky in my life. We will be playing them again soon when Cal leaves. Edit: I absolutely think we should play them too every year. But at some point you have to compromise. UK was never willing to do that. We offered. It’s ok Purdue fans that were talking trash during the first game in my area were the ones leaving at the under 12 timeout with a large section of fans giving them a proper send off. Wish you were in my area then lol. It’s also not our fault when they can actually notice our fans leaving either. Notre Dame fans left pretty quickly Saturday and I am not sure anyone noticed. Yep I really think a place that tries to move a faster pace with good spacing will give him the opportunity to have a really successful career. Last night up until the 15 minute mark in the second half Ball St. was doing that. Talent just took over at that point. Indiana St has always had really solid coaching in a tough league. Pretty sure it is split evenly. Even though the lower bowl is split evenly it ends up with probably 40ish percent of the people in the lower level being IU fans through ticket resales.
