There are honestly options. If Peter can't stay healthy, it may be him. Lets see if he can get through the year. Other than that you have 6 Freshman. Someone is either bound to blow up and go Pro, or someone will not get used to the lack of minutes. Last year it happened over 350 times outside of IU. It just happens unfortunately.

I am impressed with the video of him shooting. He has good arc, and a quick release. Dude likes his turn around on smaller players. If you have him down on the block against smaller players he has excellent foot work that gets him into a good position to take his shot. He isn't going to be all conference as a freshman, but if dude works, I think he could be a player towards the end of his career. 6'8" players don't come in with that type of refined shooting motion often. I think he can have a Matt Roth type of career. His senior year Roth was very valuable in spurts. We don't need 15 McDonalds All Americans. That is not realistic.

    All rite! Another IU site!

. That is very true, and they probably never knew about it until after the fact.

    All rite! Another IU site!

Unfortunately this is true. Never would have thought the people we trusted would stoop to this, but this is true. Anybody who comes over here will probably have their personal PMs checked on their site unfortunately. Some people you just don't know as well as you thought you knew. I didn't want to get banned from there, because I have friends over there. Hell, I got banned when I was at a concert when they found out from Jaybob we were leaving. I even said as much then, but they didn't trust anyone who left because they are dealing with money. I get that. It is what it is. CC sent me a long text explaining how hard it was to be put in the position they were left in and were left no choice. They have their truth on why they did/do what they do, and we have ours. We were tired of backing a community we didn't believe in. We had voiced our displeasure for a while. This opportunity came up and we wanted to get back to what was important. We appreciated and said many times how much we appreciated CC for all that he did to build HSN. I couldn't have done what he did, and he at the time built the best community possible. I miss conversing with all of the "original mods" but this situation is better for us. We truly believe in what we are building. We aren't trying to sell people on a product to hit a monthly quota. There is a reason everyone is selling the inside info hard, even though the same info can be found on twitter. All of us mods just wanted a community, and not a hard sell. The guys that built this site gave us that opportunity, and we couldn't be happier. That is the honest truth from my perspective. I wish that site nothing but the best. I hope they get what they are there for, and that is money. I know we have found what we are here for. I know they will read this and discuss this. I don't mean for this to be a parting shot. I truly wish them well. I hope they do the same for us.

Plus, we are honestly fans. If we pissed off everyone we encountered this place would be pretty boring when we were talking to ourselves. We have kind of lived by that thought process on our previous sites. We understand how emotional we get when our team sucks or plays good. We unfortunately were all on during and after the Sampson era. Anything is a walk in the part compared to that. We left some great people and great conversation (well they banned us when they learned about this place) to come here because of what we did and didn't want to be a part of. We all couldn't be happier to be where we are now and we hope all to join us on the journey. This is truly a place to just talk IU sports. Gonna be a fun season.

Ha, I think they gave them some generous rebounds on certain possessions. I was even further off with Troy and I followed him closely every possession. Dude was just fun to watch cutting through screens and just working at both ends of the court.

    Rapid Reaction - USI

Well, this will be new for all of us. I am especially excited for our new home and new features. This is one of those. As the year goes on, I will probably involve stats more and more. This game had so many questions going into it, and the stats wouldn't do it justice for some of the players. Troy Williams - Kid is going to be a stud if he keeps working the way he does. His athleticism was as impressive as I can remember for a freshman. He was all over the place. At times he was the superior player on the court. He had a block toward the end of the game only Vic could compete with. Solid line of 10 pts / 10 rebounds / 3 blocks. Noah Vonleh - Made a bold prediction during the game, he would lead the league in rebounds. I don't feel I am overhyping him because he is a Hoosier either. The ball finds him in a Reggie Evans sort of way. It just always seemed to bounce his way during the game and he has as sure of hands as I have seen. He led a break and looked comfortable doing so. He knocked down a 3 from the top of the key. He also went 0-5 from the line. He has some work, but they all do. 9 pts / 12 boards Yogi "I want to be Jordy" Ferrell - Well, it was the two extremes I think we see from Yogi this year. He was fantastic from 3, hitting 6-10. The flip side is he was very loose with the ball having 4 turnovers. At times he was looking for the spectacular play, instead of the smart play. That said he had 20 points on a solid shooting night. He will be just fine in this new role. Will Sheehey - He just seemed off tonight. Like many times last year where he would get lost in the shuffle, he seemed to tonight. He will have to be more assertive for us to be successful. Not only that, he will have to be more consistent. Best of the rest - How about Hanner Perea? That kid was shaky at first, but got it going and just looked comfortable. He hit a baseline jumper outside of anything Zeller hit in 2 years at IU. He went 5-5 from the line on a night where nobody could hit. He was active on defense and on the boards. If he keeps working he adds to the depth we were sorely missing last year. Jeremy and Evan played large roles, and you can see how much Crean expects out of them. To me, they were mostly blah. Jeremy didn't look any different than the player that couldn't find his role last year. Crean had him out on the point a few times. We will see if they can gain some confidence in an early season schedule that will allow for some missteps. Bottom Line - Two things really. It is basketball, and we are IU. It is most definitely a different year. This is a team that will have to win in transition, and will come nowhere near the efficiency of last year or probably even the year before. I feel better than I did heading into it. I was impressed by how assertive Hanner and Luke were (even if he didn't have the greatest game). That just means we will have depth we haven't had in Crean's tenure. I can easily see a team where we are going 10 deep regularly. Last year we struggled to go beyond 7. The flip side to that is we will need it. We aren't the well oiled offensive machine of last year. We will rely on defense and athleticism to win games. Going forward I will probably rely a lot more on stats. This game was more about seeing what positions Crean put his players in. I am excited for the upside of this team. There will also be nights where I will probably drink myself to sleep. That said, if there is anything you guys and gals want me to add, let me know.
  10. Completely agree. Hopefully we have a solid year while building towards what is expected to be a run next year.
  11. That is excellent. Wish I could go, but I have to work tomorrow. Crazy time of year for us. If you get pics of the place and the kids definitely share them. Its events like this that make IU special this time of year. Enjoy the day! One of those days you will never forget!

Will IU Go Bowling This Season?

Damned Navy... We should be, but I don't think so.

Yeah, those turnovers and free throw numbers will kill us against a good team. That team was hitting shots all night. On a typical night, the team isn't going to hit the shots they did against us. They really hit a lot of jumpers. We will be a better defensive team than offensive team.

Sorry, had to edit Troy. That isn't a typo. He really had 10 points, and 10 boards. Dude was all over the place today.
  17. Thanks to Hwy 1 that got us that link for the game. Don't know if there were anymore throughout the thread, but that is the one I latched on to. If there were, thank you! Much appreciated!
  18. Wow, its been that long.
  19. We are no doubt deeper than last year. We need it.
  20. That was Vic like block. That was nasty...
  21. Hanner Perea!!! Dude is looking impressive after a slow start. Base line jumper!
  22. Yogi has been the man from distance, but he has forced a few 3s because of his success. For those of you that missed it Noah actually led a break early and looked good handling the ball. His size has done nothing but help him. IMO
  23. Don't think so. Not any chatter on anybody else.
  24. Yogi is still raining 3s. Yogi + Troy = IU offense tonight. Noah has had some success for sure, but it has been very quiet. Like our rebounding and defensive potential, but gotta agree with IUHoosier41... Different team for sure.
