    James Blackmon Rumors

Not gonna lie, I have been texting people all day trying to find out where in the hell this late shift came from. I have heard non-stop JB2 to UK since before he decommitted and now people are optimistic that weren't. Something happened on that UK visit for this big of a change. I am in a I will believe it when I see it mood, but this is a kid we are still talking about. Nothing would surprise me anymore if he commits to IU.

He did until recently. He switched to UK like a week or two ago.

    James Blackmon Rumors

One feature I remember them having is them showing how right someone is. He is correct 87% of the time. 19 correct and 3 incorrect. He makes educated guesses or has first hand knowledge. He isn't one to go out on a ledge.

  5. Atleast it wasn't pants? :bad:
  6. Fair enough. I was on the wrong thread man.
  7. Which one? I had to endure going through a few sites to get a feel for where things stand and they are pretty confident. Meyer and Goodman both said he is going to UK today. A little off topic, but if you go to Cats Illustrated there was a thread titled, "I found the sex of my baby today". Makes me smile every time I encounter Kentucklish. Edit: Well, went back to copy the thread and they changed the title to "We found out the sex of our baby" lol.
  8. Sorry, a little off topic from where things are going. I looked around to get a feel for what people were saying in regards to Blackmon. Everyone is still very confident in Kentucky. Goodman and Meyer both say no chance for anyone else but Kentucky. http://www.kentucky.com/2013/10/30/2903286/calipari-expected-to-secure-two.html Goodman did his thing on Twitter. My thing I don't get is if Booker is going to UK, I thought that Blackmon didn't want to compete with him. They are feeling really good about Booker still. I guess I can understand why. They get literally everyone they throw money at they recruit.
  9. I personally feel JL makes a lot of sense for IU. I would prefer an elite shooter that can handle the ball, but Crean loves having two players on the court at all times that can man the ball. If he had 2 elite PGs, he would be in heaven. Yogi as a shooter is coming around. JL has the size of a 2, but is a PG who can shoot. Imo, it is easy to see why Crean is going so hard after him. God forbid an injury, but what happens if Yogi goes down? Imagine if you have the insurance JL. We don't really have a true PG as a backup. It would be nice for them to split time and work together on the court. I think with the slashers we have it would be great to have 2 players that can find the other 3.
  10. Matthew Hatfield ‏@hatfieldsports 2m #Christchurch 5-Star Devin Robinson (_drobbb) has committed to play his College Hoops at #Florida. More later on #VaPreps & #Rivals
  11. People at Huntington Prep have said great things about him once he got on campus. I feel better about him since he realized he needed to get away from the Evansville crowd that was dragging him down. That's not easy. He could have easily stayed and got recruited by the same major schools, but didn't. That is growth. IMO
  12. Him and his coach have stated once the season starts, there is no time for visits. So, if there is any chance of him signing in November, he would want to come on this OV. He is doing his SAT that day. He has to have his results, but they can rush it. Not sure if they have to have them on hand at the beginning of his visit or the end. Cause, they could probably get them Monday, since he has a name. If its an unofficial, there really isn't that much to look into. He has been on campus a bunch, but stated he wanted to take his OV but still needed to take his SAT to do that.
  13. Well, he did retweet some negative IU tweet. Hate to look too much into that, but he went from retweeting pro-IU stuff, to negative stuff with someone telling him to go to Florida. I am sure more than one person is tweeting him to go somewhere.
  14. I would put it 80% on dad and 20% friends.
  15. Lol, next recruit a year out lets start a poll on that players page on the recruiting side and see how close we get.
  16. Ha, are we starting our own B-Town Banner Ball?
  17. Agreed. Our 2013 class is stacked with quality players who aren't one and done. There will be spring players (I think Jaquan is one of those) available if we go after another player.
  18. Its hard when you have AAU coaches or any handlers telling you that you will get more PT at UF AND you won't get better from the bench. I can't fault him for that. The shortsighted fact is the SEC is weak. The B1G is grueling as hell. Can't fault them for their logic. Kids look for all sorts of things. PT is sometimes a deal breaker. He will get more at UF by default. They will be highly ranked. Not a bad options. As for your first sentence, he will get that at UF as well, he will just not be blocked in any way. I don't know any kids that want to make things harder on themselves when their ultimate goal is the NBA.
  19. Even if asked a month ago I would say Blackmon is far and away my favorite option for this class. That said we can't really go wrong if we get any of them.
  20. I would agree with this and add just improvement and comfort from the freshman by the end of the year. I think most on here would expect a run next year if Vonleh and Yogi are back. We need them to grow. I think they will.

His videos are great, because it isn't him dunking every play. Its him shooting as a spot up shooter, turnaround in the post (while using his footwork to get in position, shots on the break, shots in traffic. All in all, it was one of the more realistic highlight videos you will see. You can see when he had someone trying to cover him who was shorter than him he tried backing him down. Realistic skills oozed on his video. He may not become anybody, but the potential is fantastic for a trailing, spot up, or back down shooter. IMO

    BtownBanners App Feedback

    1. I like the ease of navigation. I really can't complain about anything, because every way I search on my laptop I can on my iPhone. Easy to find topics I participated in. Easy to see if anyone sent me a PM. I get notifications. I think it was really well thought out. Not just selling it because I am a mod. I would put money on others feeling the same way. 2. If I could be picky (not life or death) it would be nice to see if there is a really hot thread going I haven't participated in. That might slip through the cracks for me if I am on my phone. Highly unlikely, because more times than not I am on here when I am not at work. 3. Outside of my home I am on here frequently. Many people I have had all types of conversations for years are on here. Hoping to say the same about others in a few years. This site just has some good dudes that are a good conversation. That is addictive.

I haven't been sold on every recruit we have had. Quite the opposite actually, but I am all in on this kid. You can't teach that size with that form/footwork he has. He is a matchup nightmare. I don't care how many stars he has. You have a heads up PG who can find anyone on the court. You have athletes going to the rim. You will have defenders not knowing who to cover. That is why a shooter is so important. Just watching the videos out there on him, he already has a form as good if not better than CWat as a Soph. IMO. That is the sweetest form coming into the program since Roth. Jordy's motion is so hard to teach or become good at. He did it. But, from pure footwork, form, and quick release, this kid has it. Whether that translates to IU, we will find out next year. I am happy at the potential for sure. I haven't hoped a recruit has come in and performed at IU in a long time like I am for this kid. In a year where nobody can make up their mind, he is all for IU and some don't like him due to what they don't know about him from lack of stars.
