Yeah I think it’s more than shooters and everyone knows where I stand. I think you and I were the ones saying after the first year consistently us not recruiting a shooter just seemed crazy considering the roster makeup. Now we are way beyond that. PG depth is really non existent. I think we should trade our first round pick from the tanking we are doing and get a couple of Zeisloft type of players and a backup PG that can go 15 and knockdown shots. I love Rob. But as a soph Rob is not a 30 minute a game guy. To be honest Rob would be the type of player I would love to be that 15 mpg player as a sophomore on a good team. That’s fair. I guess I have that faith due to the history of the NCAA not liking to be told to piss off. Also they can never get a confession. They don’t have to here. I doubt any of the people convicted will be able to provide evidence to overturn a court document or they would have. A lot of the people that were convicted were convicted of things that are ncaa violations. The NCAA had to wait until the year to trials were over to get the free damning evidence. These people were arrested in September of 2017. So close to 2.5 years. The schools were notified in under 2 years from arrest and after trials concluded. With all of the appeals I think within 3 years of arrest is actually a decent pace. I probably had different expectations, but it’s always about a year after notice of allegations come out where the penalties are announced due to all of the appeals. We will see what comes of this, but I would not want to be Will Wade, Bill Self, Sean Miller, or the Louisville program. Others will get hit hard too but those were the most boisterous. I will respond by saying Bozich will not badmouth IU because they won’t let him or his press pass will be revoked on certain subjects. While I have no doubt he said that, I will bet my house he would have responded the same no matter the truth. That includes premium forums too. If you want an honest answer on that one ask Dan Dakich. He was a coach for many years at IU and also has plenty of friends still around campus. He doesn’t have to protect IU like others. Not really. We were across from where he came in and 12th row. It just looked like he was taking it all in at first. Then it seemed when he started getting emotional he would start playing to the crowd. I have been to many games and events in my lifetime and I have never seen a smile as big on his face. Complete joke here, but maybe that’s why it was so awkward to some. Pat was pretty emotional throughout. At one point we saw Vitale sobbing like crazy. I was more emotional than I thought I would be. Yeah watching Coach Knight in person walk into AH was worth watching that **** show. It seems some were expecting more than what he gave. You could feel his emotion in the crowd, but you could really feel the emotion of his players. Coming from someone that didn’t care either way if he came back. I would say Stevens is probably more possible than Donovan and both are not happening. Donovan is looking like the coach of the year this year. Or top 2 or 3 at this point. Grave digging - They haven’t said no, so they COULD come to IU and I think they would be more likely than a coach that demolished the university. Lebron - I hear he has a great mind for the game. Hasn’t said no yet, and I like his experience more than the assistants on your list that work for specific universities that have never put out a really good coach. Wojo to this point is the best. I prefer to aim higher if we go through this again in a couple of years. Phil - Might just bring Mitch Kupchak for that recruiting. Jeff - I like Jeff so I wanted to add him. Compliance mainly. Admissions is another area. College athletics for money making sports is a very different environment than it was 20+ years ago. Our admin both at the top and in the AD office run it like it’s 1985. The infrastructure of the facilities was ignored for years. Yeah man, I have been saying this for years. But I think at this point people are going to believe what they want. But if you ever spend any time around Bloomington or actually go to the games that’s always a topic of discussion with the older season ticket holders in the lower levels. To anyone that it doesn’t fit their narrative it’s an excuse. For me, our offense sucks. Driving lanes aren’t there for a team that can’t shoot. That’s communication, and a BBIQ issue. The BBIQ issue is on the staff. The careless passing is on the players, but trickles down to the coaches when they continually happen. Defensively, I am over the hedges from 30 feet out. I think we spend the rest of the possession chasing. What’s easier to score on? A scrambling defense or a set defense? To me that’s on the coaches. That said, ebbs and flow. We need to make the tournament to show improvement. The other things are a byproduct of a team that will be what we expected (8 or 9 seed team or not making the tournament). If we don’t make the tournament I think the right move is making a move even though I know it won’t happen this year. If we make the tournament we have to keep improving next year.
