  1. I think anyone who says we could win 4 of the next 5 or lose the next 5 could both be correct.  We are inconsistent with a capital I baby.  Just wanted to be a dick for a day.

Lol, you never know man.  I am sure there are people out there thinking they do run the table.  Congrats on them for their great year.  They would beat us.  I am not saying they are middle of the pack in the B1G, but they will struggle in the tournament.

They are good Hova.  I just think they aren't top 5-10 good.  I think like any team in the 10-20 range, they could make a run, but their competition will cost them come tournament time.  This tournament will be too good for them.  Too athletic.  I just don't have that much faith in their ability to run the table.  The best odds for the best team to win it all is typically 20% on a normal year.  I would put theirs at less than 5%.

Well, Mike Davis has more title games than Bo Ryan.  Lol, no reason for that stat, just wanted to throw it out there.

I know Wichita St. is undefeated, but I am glad no teams with a legit chance of winning a championship are undefeated.  Before I get the typical answer how good they are, they haven't played a decent team in a while.  There is a reason mid-majors haven't won a title to this point.  Butler is as close as we may see for a while.  Especially a year like this.  Wichita St. might have 5 tough games, even if they get a 1 seed.  That doesn't happen every year.  This year is wide open.  I actually feel bad for them to pick this year to be good.
  8. It can't be easy as a parent under this type of scrutiny.  Well done again.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

True, but if the AD were to go to them and make them feel like they have input on the next BB Coach at IU, they wouldn't go at his head.  If they hated him or Crean at this point lets be real.  That athletic department would not have got the money they have the last 5 years.  Money is coming in at a record pace.  That will be the telling sign whether or not the boosters believe in Crean or Glass.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

I don't think they would want Glass gone, because everything else he has done.  Not just in sports, but updating facilities in multiple areas.  I think he is one of the top ADs we have had ever already.  Plus, I don't think it would be hard to explain the situation we were in, and Crean wasn't his guy.  The situation we were in he had to overpay who wanted to be here.  Coming from where we were, and the excitement Crean got up front, it is easy to see why he did what he did.  I don't think any of the donors would have a problem with Glass.  They have seen in other sports and areas what he has done.

Lol, I am indifferent on Tom Crean, but Vitale hasn't known which train he was on since Bill Clinton was a cigar connoisseur.

    Pat Knight Fired

They just fired him cause they knew he was the next coach at IU.

If Glass went to donors and said Crean can't get it done, he could easily raise the money for a buyout.  He would also have the money to pay any coach in America if he went to people and said that is who would get it done.  Obviously his neck would be on the line, but this is IU.  If you make the move to your Coach (Crean was not his), then you live and die with them.

I felt the same yesterday.  Unfortunately.  I haven't seen that at IU in a while.  I am kind of worried for the summer to see where we go heading into next season.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

Welcome to the site, and excellent 1st post.  I can definitely see where you are coming from, and I am similar in position to you.  I do differ that Crean does have the knowledge to teach fundamentals, he just doesn't.  Its not something he looks at.  He tries overanalyzing everything to the point where some of these "simpler" things get lost, and could save him and his players a lot of issues.  I think that is the biggest thing with this team.  Only a couple of players have solid basic fundamentals.  It doesn't even look like street ball anymore.  It looks like 5 individuals without a plan after the first couple of minutes.  Once IU gets punched in the mouth, they vary away from what they are doing.  Not saying what they are doing would get us to victory, but it is obvious when they do it.
  16. Tomorrow, IU will step into an important game.  Its an added bonus that it is against a team that chants "IU Sucks" at graduation.  Its not like we could go to West Lafayette with all that is on the line and lay an egg, could we?  I mean, we just collapsed down the stretch at PSU.  That should have shook the focus back into us.  I mean, sure Hanner got arrested a day before the biggest rival game of the season.  I wish this was the case.  I wish the game was tomorrow.     Unfortunately, ladies and gentleman, I just lived what this rivalry means to people in this state who happen to be on the wrong end of this.  Normally, I would take up this space trying to make sense of what we just witnessed.  I know they are just kids, so this isn't completely on them.  They play for the name on the front.  That name on the front represents all of us, and for the first time in a long time I was embarrassed of the actions on the court.  Sure, during the Sampson era, I was embarrassed of what he took us through off the court.  Mike Davis and Tom Crean are not going to be mistaken for Robert Montgomery Knight anytime soon, and I am fine with that.  There are only a select few in that category.  Half of our players are from Indiana.  It seemed only the PU fans were aware this was a rivalry game.  I don't give a damn how much we look down at them.  The crowd, players, and coaches kicked our butt today, and we folded without so much of a fight.     I know this will ruffle some feathers.  I know some will agree.  That is essentially what has become of Hoosier Nation lately.  We agree to disagree on where things stand.  That is the most wonderful aspect of this type of environment.  Do you guys realize how boring it must have been living in the 70s and the 80s?  People would just walk around agreeing.  The one thing I hope we can all agree on is priorities are not right at this point.  Something is off.  The coaches are with the players daily, so they are the ones who could only ultimately answer that.  I have now seen over 50 games I can remember against PU, and that was the most lifeless one I can remember.     I had to watch it with a house full of PU fans.  They talked trash, but they had something that pissed me off much more.  Empathy.  We are that goal they always strive to reach, but aren't quite good enough.  They look at us now and feel as though we aren't what we should be.  Is it the players?  Is it the coaching?  Is it the scheme?  Ultimately, as we close down this season and head into the next I feel we are at a Crossroads for our future.  We are a brand that has lived for as long as I can remember off of our past.  I mean, we have one of the most memorable sports movies of all time based on our single class tournament.  As we head to the future, things must change.  As a Fan, I realize this is a game, and there is always tomorrow.  As an Alum, I live IU basketball 24/7/365.  Some may not understand that, but when you live in this state, basketball season is never over.  When you graduate from this school, that is the first thing that comes up in conversation with everyone.   The intended purpose of this, was supposed to be my Rapid Response.  As a fan with a computer, it ultimately became my outlet of frustration and disappointment.  I truly feel sorry for the players.  I feel sorry for them, because they don't know what IU vs. PU means to most of us.  They have to live with the weight of those jerseys, expectations, and collective disappointment of a Nation.  For the first time this season I hope they are more youthful than I think, to not notice this.  Fans aren't going to stop cheering them on.  We aren't like that.  Unfortunately, as each disappointing moment passes, the weight will continue to mount.  The 2013-14 version of our Indiana Hoosiers has been disappointing.  They play like a set of individuals without a purpose.  I will still continue to love this team, and hope for the best.  The future is cloudy now folks, but one way or another we will weather this storm.  Sorry for the long rant instead of my typical game recap.  I felt after the day I had I needed to vent.
  17. 65 - 62 IU.  We play up to our competition?  That and I need to take some bold chances on this thing to have a chance.

IMO, if we do that, then fall back to this that should say something.  Next year, I feel Crean needs to be ATLEAST there.  This year is not acceptable for IU.  Even for the most supportive fans.  That doesn't mean you make a change every time you have a bad year.  But, if it happens semi-regularly it isn't an oddity.

We went from 12-20 to 27-9 just a couple of years ago.  I thought we had a team that could compete with anyone that year.
  20. Dude looks like a Tweener.  But, if that is 6'7" and 190 then I am John Holmes.  Dude looks like he is built like Devin in High School.  That should be good for at least 220.

If Noah does not come back, I am less optimistic.  We are currently 1 game out of last place.  I am banking on the progression of our players.  Stan will get better.  Troy will get better.  I think Devin has potential.  If Jeremy brings consistency, we are in business.  If Noah comes back, we will be legit.  He is only going to get better.  He just turned 18 in August.  He is young for his grade.  I am excited for next year, yet reserved after this year.

I think we have to have a team that can make some noise next year.  Iowa and MSU will lose key players.  UM might lose Stauskas.  We should be (talent wise) toward the top of the B1G next year if Vonleh comes back.  We have to be.

    honestly now

I truly think he comes in as a Freshman and averages 15.  I have seen him play a bit, and think he has that ability.  Part of that is need, and part of that is his ability to get the ball in the basket.  That dude doesn't wait in the corner until he gets the ball to shoot.  He is good on the ball and off.  He is only 6'2", so when he sees a double team, he isn't looking over it.  He is still scoring.  He has done it against solid talent.  He has done it against elite talent.  That said, he will have good games, and bad games.  All players do.  I think the other Freshman will struggle more than him.  I hope we get a Juco big.  That is my main worry.

Good for them, I guess.[/quote] They are asses. They tried so hard to get me to wear PU gear with them. They are the family members who every year until I was 18 bought me PU gear for Christmas and Bdays. Seriously, I am sitting here just listening to 6 grown men talk down IU as if I wasn't pissed enough. I honestly haven't been this pissed about IU basketball in close to 20 years.
