Jealousy and anger, you're exhibiting it well. cubs are just like purdont, the little brother that tries to tag along with the cool older brother but keeps falling short. 1908 and never, two things that go together like oil and vinegar.
Lol, man I think most Cubs fans would be the first to let you know the Cardinals have the best organization in baseball. Cubs are years behind, but had to start somewhere. Glad they finally got a modern FO, scouting department, and international facilities. Congrats on what you guys have, but I am glad of the direction we have going. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
5.   Lol, wanted to know if I was getting shanked on the South Side, or a beer thrown at my head.  Man, I am glad it is that time of year.  The Cubs are going to blow again.  I know this.  They will for the next couple of years, but it is the first time in about 10 years I was optimistic about the future.

Nope, and as with most boards if someone wants to openly be a dbag they will be treated as such.  You are 100% correct on your assessment good sir.
7.   Lol, damn Cub haters.  You can lock the thread my man….  Let me guess.  White Sox or Cardinal fan?
8.   Completely agreed.  Two sites that are as essential as this one to the Hoosier fan for the Cub fan are Bleachernation and Cubs Den.  Brett Taylor from Bleachernation does a fantastic job with his daily articles.  He is saber friendly, as well as lays out the information why he feels the way he does.  He gives the FO the benefit of the doubt usually, but questions things when they don't make sense.  John Arguello from Cubs Den has a guy named Tom Loxas who I check in on Twitter.  Those dudes are great for information, but pat themselves on the back with every article.  That gets kind of annoying.  I would say BN is the best of the Cubs Blogs.  He does this thing at the trade deadline, usually for a great cause, where he covers for over 30 hours straight.  Entire MLB trade deadline.  He puts rumors, trades, and just everything out there.  It is great.  Last year, they got a lot of money donated to Make-A-Wish, and that was the goal to get him to go for hours straight.  He is a good dude.
9. ^^^^^  If Bryant has a Baez-like year this year, I don't see how they hold him down though.  He had a great year through the levels he played last year.  I think after Almora, he is our surest prospect.  I think Baez will have too much swing and miss to do what he did last year in the majors.  I think Bryant will be the man once he gets there.  I hope.  I am a Cubs fan.  That is all I ever have.
10. I hope on Bryant.  I am a huge Cubs fan.  Damn Jayboob is a Cards fan.  But, I would be shocked if he came up earlier than September.  Even then, I would be surprised.  If they hold him down past July, they will gain another year of control.  If they aren't doing anything, and they hold him until September, I wouldn't be surprised if he wouldn't come up until next July for the same reason.  I think Baez comes up this year.  Alcantara will as well.  Almora is 2 years out.  I think of the big 4, Soler will be the bust.  Cubs just don't have the top pitching in their system needed to compete with the Cardinals, even if most of their bats pan out.  Even if they go arm in the 1st round this year, I see eventually Castro getting traded for arms.  Shark will get traded as well.  IMO
11.   The problem with baseball might be college baseball.  In basketball and football, you have two money making sports.  You get familiar with the players and they step in right away.  If we all followed college baseball, we wouldn't hear from the kids after they leave for usually 3 years.  Hell, Kris Bryant the best college bat in a few years will spend 2 years in the minors.  I think that has honestly hurt baseball since we have become a society where we want things now.  The average age of the baseball fan is getting older and older.  I do like the concept of either coming straight out of high school, or waiting 2 years.  If Silver makes them stay until they are 20, things could also become interesting.  A team like IU who can recruit would benefit.  A team like Kentucky will still be damn good, but they would get less players, because less turnover.  Those players we are in deep with the Dukes, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas down the line will look harder at us with that rule change that is probable.
12.   I am honestly for player compensation.  The 1950s version of amateurism does not exist anymore.  Anyone who thinks kids at different places or sports aren't getting paid are mistaken.  It may not be large sums, but I would be willing to bet every team has something happen where a player gets something that would be considered a violation.  The NCAA needs to be updated to a more modern example, to better assist the kids of today.  Not kids from 60 years ago.  Lol, obviously I think you should be careful on your comments on that subject.  Don't want you getting yourself in trouble with powers that be, or have something end up on ESPN.  Everyone has their opinions.  As a parent who lives it daily, you will more than most.  I was close friends with a player who blew out both knees while playing at IU.  It was crazy what he had to go through.
13. I honestly haven't felt this bad for a team since the mid 90s.  In between Luke, and then Jeremy.  Then, you have Hanner.  Kids do stupid things.  I did the same thing Hanner did, and would like to think I am a productive member of society who got caught up in the moment when I was younger.  Hopefully, he learns from it as did I.  This team is going to break, or have character as strong as steel by this summer.
14. Good luck at PU Doc.  As you know, it won't be pretty.  It will probably be worse than normal, because they think they CAN beat us.

Hanner Perea arrested

^^^ OWI for first offense fell under the same category as DUI.

Rayl, look at DUI in Indiana under DMV.  1st offense is 90 days suspension, but you can get probationary license after 30 days.    www.dmv.com/in/indiana/dui-dwi   He will have a Class A misdemeanor for his BAC being over .15.  License suspension for 1st offense is still the same.  He will get his license back after 30 days, without anyone being able to be in his car.  That is under #1 for Actions against....

Nope, didn't get Heffelfinger Natty.  I had done some work for his brother at one point, so I got him removed.  It wasn't a cut and dry, go in and plead.  It was a take a drug test, come back in a month after a continuance, and then plead.  That deferred sentence is something that has become very popular to college aged kids in the state.  My best friend got a DUI 3 years ago, and that is what he got as well.  So, not sure how different they can be throughout the state, but in Huntington County, they have been consistent with that.  Oh, and Sean Kline was under the same thing when he came to IU.

I should add Rayl, I did not get my license suspended for 180 days.  That was for 2nd offense.  Mine was for 90 days, but I applied (and paid) for it to be lessened to 30 days when I had to travel to work and school.  3rd sentence is a year.  4th could be life.

Yep Hwy1 is correct on the DUI and OWI charges for 1st time offenders.  I wasn't so great 10-15 years ago, and I got a sentence where I must go to school, AA, probation (piss tests), and pay for court costs.  If I did that it would be wiped off of my record.  I would be willing to bet he will get something similar.  If not, it can mess up Scholarship paperwork, and the courts in Indiana try to keep 1st offenders in school.  Once he completes this (usually 1 year or 18 months), the charges are typically dropped off of his record.  I got it dropped off of my record.  The only thing different I had to do other than what he had explained was serve a 3 day sentence.  30 days, suspended to 3 days.  Drivers license suspended 30 days.  Probation for 1 year unless AA courses and fines were not paid for.  Then I had 6 months to pay them or I went to jail for whole sentence.  If I didn't go to school atleast part time while maintaining a 2.5 GPA, I would go to jail for the 30 days.  Yep, that is a typical 1st offense in Indiana unfortunately.
20. 68 - 65 PU.  Sorry guys.  Too much negative energy going for the team right now and PU should want to get back at us after what we did to them last year.

Fred Glass interview

Honestly, depends on his definition as a coach.  A coach to him, at IU, could mean a manager of an extremely popular team who gets the players to go to class.  He gets record donations due to them being on the same page.  A coach to an AD is far more than X's and O's, especially the basketball coach at IU.  That part is only for the fans.  If X's and O's were all it took, RMK would still be here.  Until we stop putting fans in the stadium or it is downright terrible, he will like Crean.

Scouting a potential Crean replacement

Yep.  It isn't happening overnight.  Its like looking at a recruiting board you have no idea what year in the future the kid is for.  He could be for next year, or 5 years.  I guess its that damned next shiny thing syndrome we always hear about.  Guess it happens for coaches too.  So much will change between now and when Crean gets fired or retires.  I don't claim to know which one will happen first.  The only thing as a fan hope for is if he doesn't live up to expectations of the University continually, then he is let go and replaced with someone better.  He is coming off of a B1G title and back to back Sweet 16s.  Before anyone tells me all we strive for is titles is fooling themselves.  We haven't won a title in over 25 years.  We will win one again.  It may be sometime soon, and it may not be.  But, to act like we are this perennial power is asinine.  We haven't been in over 20 years.  We aren't IU of the 70s/80s.  If any school could snap their fingers and get back to that, they would.  It takes a lot of things.  Coaching is one of the many things.  Do I think Crean is a good enough coach to win a title?  Ultimately, I think he needs the talent.  I think he isn't a good enough coach to improve his players position regularly to gain an advantage.  I do have my doubts about him, and I could see a scenario where he is gone in the next couple of years.  But, what happens when the next coach does not get instant results?  Because, he won't.  IU does not have the name of a Duke, UK, Kansas, or UNC.  You can't plug and play coaches in here and get whoever.  The previous 2 coaches proved that.  You will see some of Crean's recruits, who you guys want someone else to coach, playing for another coach.  Just, not at IU.
