Hollowell & Etherington transferring..

This is the way I am, and I am a mod. It is few and far in between where someone is 100% accurate. I completely understand why someone would be this way. -

It is. Unfortunately we can't get into this. We are positive. Sorry, I know that isn't what you want to hear. -

It sucks. No way around it. Completely disappointed as a fan and alum. I am not naive and know what happens with the players in most situations. After all he has said, I am sure he has lost a lot of support within the University. Not even talking about boosters. Knight proved you can't piss off the administration. Crean is no Knight. -

Yeah, I can say the same. We as mods tracked it just to keep tabs on it. 100% accurate. Unfortunately considering some of the things involved. I lost a lot of respect for Crean today as a man. That was one reason I held out hope for him as the coach. I hope he gets his priorities in order. More important than his coaching at this point. -
Please stop the negativity
Tournament success on the whole may be a bit of a crapshoot, but the national champions are not. Last year, Louisville was the odds on favorite and they won. The year before, Kentucky was an overwhelming favorite and they won. The year before, UConn was the hottest team entering the tourney and they won. Winning the championship is all about playing well at the end of the season, regardless of what happened through the year. The champions are almost always teams who were hot entering the tournament. Unfortunately, Crean's teams have generally played worse at the end of the season, except maybe 2011-2012, but even that team was wasn't hot at the end of the season.
Do you know what an overwhelming favorite truly is with college basketball. Actually IU was the odds on favorite last year. On a typical year the favorite has like a 20% chance of winning. So if that is overwhelming to you, you may be more of a gambler than myself. I really like Hoiberg and think he is an up and comer. Love the brand of ball that team plays at both ends. If he could recruit with the best I think he puts his team in a position to win at a high level.

I actually agree with you. People's main argument at getting rid of Crean seem to mostly be centered on him underperforming in the tournament which is ludicrous. That is about as big of a crapshoot as you will find. If you are lucky enough to get the right draw, you have to be lucky enough for things to fall into place. I actually am with you, just poking fun at a specific mentality.
-
But, but, but they underperformed. They were an undefeated 1 seed who lost in the round of 32. Crean hasn't even done that.

I miss Chi Chi's. Lol, Who would have thought putting a Zesto's by a mexican restaurant was a great idea?

Man, wish Duke would have made it to Indy. Would have been a who's who. Last year was quite the party with who they had. Mostly UL and MSU fans. Bet this year it is bigger with UM, UL, and possibly UK.

Here it comes lol.
-
I would love to see something back door at the rim.
-
UK is going to foul on the 3.
-
How in the hell is that a shooting foul?
-
Wow, the first time all tournament a team hit both of their free throws.
-
Lmao! Bank is open!!!

Time to pull out the big guns. The Shockers new cheerleaders are UK's cousins!!!

No problem man. The landscape has changed so much even over the last 10 years I constantly have to keep up on this stuff. -

No problem. The late signing period is soon, and basically goes right up to the start of the first summer session. That is for incoming freshman. They can play right away assuming their grades are in order. More times than not the best players have already signed in the early session in November. The only way these kids become available is if a coach is fired and the kid is released from his LOI. Usually kids that transfer will do so before the first summer session so they can get everything in order heading into their new school. They will have to sit out a year. 5th year seniors have got a degree and sat out a year. They are a great commodity because they only take up a year and if you have the scholly to burn it has no downside. They also have experience and played at this level. The coaches and players have a good idea of who is going and coming at this time of year. The ones that surprise the coaches is when they do it mid-year like Luke. -

I hope it is only 2, but there will be attrition. Last year there 400 transfers in D1 basketball alone. When you are IU there will be a lot of tough love. It will either be work or leave, or you won't get any minutes next year. Every team has transfers. This team will be no different. We probably won't know for 100% who until right before the 1st summer session. -
Any takers?

Good possibility we have more than a couple of spots open up. I want Lee. I think we could feasibly add as many as 3 players. Sad but true when you play the way we did.
