Not up for debate cause it happened once in this state? Indiana with the most hyped prep getting ready to head to IU of all time. I knew the answers to my rhetorical questions but was curious of the response. Kind of disappointed this weak response was all I got. If you don't understand why that situation is different than any other then you don't understand high school basketball in this state as well as what Bailey's background or situation. You do realize the accommodations made to make that situation happy right?

There is a high school gym with 30,000 seats? I thought high school athletics purpose was to not only pay for their activities but support the school? Actually pretty sure of that cause when they don't make enough they have fundraisers to pay for them.

(2015) SF Ogugua Anunoby to IU

I don't always agree with how the over sign is used, but to stop recruiting a year would be bad. You never know which kids get homesick or will do something stupid to get kicked off the team. So many variables that don't involve Crean. -
Who Will Be IU's Next Commitment

Yep this is going nowhere fast. Going to close it, but I recommend not questioning any levels of fandom. We are all here aren't we? -

We were close, but his relationship with the players at MSU was the tipping point. -
Hoosier Hysteria---Recruit Guest List

He was on him long before that, but got a secondary for being a day early on the contact period. -
Eh it's cool. If someone states something it is up for discussion. Simmons is the biggest Celtic homer, so I am sure it wasn't just a knee jerk comment. He has probably heard at one point that was Stevens dream job and just over analyzed the situation. It's his job.

Let's be real here though. An athletic department is here for one purpose to the university. That is to add revenue. If there is upside to firing a coach and gaining money, the university will. If not, they won't. The AD's job is to put the people and facilities in place to maximize revenue while promoting the university. If he can't do that, he would be gone.

Yeah, I think Crean is here next year, but the buyout won't be a consideration.
-
Yeah if top donors call people and say we aren't donating if any coach is here, things will change.

That is pretty much the same.

The thing I am honestly curious of at this (cause I haven't kept up as much as I normally do) is how different is his situation from AHOPE. I mean to me it seems kids are singled out based on potential ability and brought over to make someone money and give someone a chance to better themselves. That's no different than Hanner or Peter. Can anyone give me a difference?

I do think we will be better than preseason rankings suggest. I don't want to turn this into a Crean vs Knight or era vs era argument but I have difficulties seeing a team constructed like we have with a pace we play overcoming a team with a quality big. Could that Knight team overcome 20 turnovers with Shaq's 36 and 12 with Nover getting called for hand checks? We did it back then with precision. I think with modern rules Shaq shoots 20 free throws. Our team today would have to hit over 45% of their shots and 15 3s to have a chance without Hanner fouling out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Dude Shaq went for 36 and 12 in that game. We had a team. They had Shaq. Not sure that's the game I would cite to prove a point where an undersized center could help us win. If Shaq had a team half as good as we had that season we may lose. Plus the games are called way different now vs then. They don't allow you to body up very much and you can't grab at all. That is why someone as athletically gifted as Hanner gets into foul trouble regularly. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I don't think Hanner is a 5. Beyond that I doubt Holt has ups anywhere close to Perea. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Absolutely. Appreciative of what we have. I think Holt by all accounts will be a very solid addition. If we could add 6'10" with impact skills we would be damn scary. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

At 6'7" I doubt he could hang on the blocks for a whole game. We would give up a few inches every night. -

I know every recruit sounds great on the surface but man we are in severe need of bigs. Would love to have a 4 year caliber player with top 100 skill to complement and grow with Morgan. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The importance of IU basketball

Beyond the obvious Kentucky, OSU, and MSU wins I have to go with that road win at NC St Cody's freshman season. That was the game where I was truly elated to the point where I felt we had moved on from the Sampson and Davis debacles. It felt good to be a fan of these players I could easily get behind again. Our offense hasn't been one that traditionally moves the ball effectively. Hopefully that is different because one that dribbles constantly won't be good with this makeup. IMO Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think IU will be better than last, but find it difficult to crack top 25. Mainly because we are young and some tough teams early. That Canada experience will prove to be huge for our early season success. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
