Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?
mdn82 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Nope I can only read about as well as you pal. You have zero clue on this one. You feel the same towards me. Speaking of learning how to read at least after 10 posts you recognize your the only one who said recruiting Indiana. Good to see we made progress. Minimal as it is... Keep shifting though. It keeps an argument alive and well. -
Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Love how you keep shifting your argument. So these guys are great pros too? At least take a position and stick with it. You aren't even listening. You are the only one talking about Indiana. Oh and two of the last five champs have players that are either an upcoming top pick or an all star. Both of those players? Midwest. You are making this too easy. -

Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

If the best college basketball prospects were on the west coast, I would hope we are out there beating that drum. Just happens we live in the hotbed of college basketball prospects who have been the best players on winning teams. I hope we stay in the Midwest with the occasional player elsewhere. Not look exclusively out east. Being this close to the hotbed you can build a better relationship with AAU programs. -
Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT INDIANA KIDS?!?!?!?!? MIDWEST! MIDWEST! MIDWEST!!!! The best players play in the best leagues? Hmmm, so when we are recruiting what are we recruiting for? WHO GIVES A DAMN ABOUT WHAT MONEY THEY MAKE AND WHEN THEY PEAK WHEN IT IS NOT AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL?!?!?!? We are here to recruit kids who give us the best chance to win a title. Midwest kids (I WILL SAY IT AGAIN), MIDWEST KIDS have been proven over time to come into college with the better fundamentals and typically are the main players on championship caliber teams. I don't know what in the hell or where you got the idea I was talking about INDIANA high schoolers. Nobody said a damn thing even close to that. Not Old Friend or myself once said recruit Indiana. We both said Midwest and then you are arguing against yourself. Then the funny thing you are using is the argument the best players being "paid" or in the "best league". We are not here at IU recruiting for the NBA. That is a byproduct of their success. If they happen to be great in the NBA, then great. That is a recruiting tool. But recruiting NBA potential at the detriment of the college program that we are recruiting for is the most asinine argument I will see on here. Gave you numerous opportunities to back out of this argument and you are digging in. Makes me laugh. We are not recruiting for the NBA. How they play beyond their time here is great for them, but not always for our university. We want players who will win while they are here. Typically MIDWEST (NOT INDIANA!!!!) kids are the ones who win. -

Can you at least admit the NBA has nothing to do with the college game? Lol it's driving me nuts someone so smart cannot see that... Or Atleast the last great college player that carried his team (non midwest) who is a great NBA player? Edit: I had to go back to Carmelo Anthony to find a legit NBA player who wasn't from the Midwest who was a great college player who carried his team to a title or even a Final Four. I want the best college players possible to win but most of them right now come out of Chicago. -

Yeah and he so happened to be their best player... I guess when college games are won by NBA players then I will agree with you. You keep talking about the best players like a 27 yr old NBA player = a 19 yr old college player. I think you are debating yourself out of this convo. NBA players do not play in college or IU may have had only 2 titles, not 5. Edit: Do you only want to consider the best players for the college game or every player because they are not equal no matter what you tell yourself. The best college players have very little meaning to the best best NBA players.... Seeing how I am an Iu fan I don't care about the NBA when it comes to college basketball. The best college players of my lifetime have been mediocre at best in the NBA. -

Yes the best basketball players are playing in the NBA. That means nothing when those same people were 18-22. Was Christian Laettner not a top 3 all time college player? How did IU win with Alford since he was not a good pro? You also really need to go back and look at this years final four. Your last paragraph proves my point further. Like 80% of the players in the final four were midwest players. Each teams best players were midwest players. 41 had a great chart of this during the final four. Sorry but the NBA argument does nothing for me when it comes to college basketball. The NBA is a player driven sport. NCAAB is a coach driven sport. -
If we have a walkon playing by January I will personally walk to Bloomington and kick Crean in the nuts. TB will probably get around 22 mpg. I see Hanner and Holt getting time at both the 4 and 5 and being pretty equal come next year. Zeisloft will get more minutes IMO than what you feel. I still seeing us quite a bit going 3 guards.

A great college player does not equate a great NBA player. Actually very rarely does a great college player equate to a great NBA player. -

OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season
mdn82 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Going out on a limb and saying the decision was made and told to Crean but the announcement either way will be at a later date. -
I could only wish after that.
-
I can see and respect that. I just feel it takes less of a man to be a keyboard warrior but I can definitely see your position.
-
I think it is beyond that for me. Seriously may be the dumbest thing I have seen in all the years on here. To me that is crossing a line that should never be a consideration.
-
Yep. Worst part he is the sport right now and the sport needs someone better more than ever to bring it back. Hopefully this fight is the start of that.

Lmao Little Miss Zeller telling you to not stalk... Just don't stay up all night listening to Usher "You got it bad" tweeting Yogi. -
I think that is the most idiotic thing in the world to do is tweet a recruit. There is absolutely no reason to vent your frustrations on a potential recruit to that recruit. That is just idiotic beyond words. That should be a perma ban from all boards when you are that ignorant to tweet a recruit frustrations from a flipping fan board. Just stupid. Moronic. Idiotic. Flat out dipshit move.

If Money dominates it will secure his place. He needs to get past Marciano record then we can say top 3-5.
-
I can almost hear the vibrations of relief coming through this thread that a shirtless Cody Zeller is doing well after surgery. Get well big fella!
