Well I am sure like most everything the truth is somewhere in the middle for a lot of things. Do I think IU fires Archie this year? Nope. Should they if we make the tourney? In my opinion no. That was my baseline for him to buy a 4th year. Progress from last year. Should they if we don’t make the tournament? Without hesitation. It is year 3. Even though I wouldn’t, would I understand if they fired him after these 3 years at IU? Absolutely. There would be no argument from me if they did after this in spite of what I would do. I think that’s the disconnect from the “positive” to the “negative” side in all of this. I don’t think we are all that different in our thoughts. I just think in this environment it’s hard to really gauge what a person truly thinks. Nobody would ask either side those questions above. Both sides would wait for the first opportunity to pick something that fits their narrative. I am as guilty as anyone for that stuff. I think my problem with them on this is they need to look at the National numbers first. Second they need to realize handicapping any coach or resource of the program only makes things more difficult for us to collectively get what we want. Then we have no leaders on this team if that were the case. Players police that. Right now it’s a collective **** show. There is enough blame to go around. Everyone has to take a collective step forward. For all of Crean’s faults he wasn’t afraid to kick a kid off of a team if there was an issue. He was made fun of for this. That’s exactly what we need right now is for a coach to walk in and take control of the situation. Then he needs to put players in the role of captains that are an extension of him. Yeah I think it’s more than shooters and everyone knows where I stand. I think you and I were the ones saying after the first year consistently us not recruiting a shooter just seemed crazy considering the roster makeup. Now we are way beyond that. PG depth is really non existent. I think we should trade our first round pick from the tanking we are doing and get a couple of Zeisloft type of players and a backup PG that can go 15 and knockdown shots. I love Rob. But as a soph Rob is not a 30 minute a game guy. To be honest Rob would be the type of player I would love to be that 15 mpg player as a sophomore on a good team. That’s fair. I guess I have that faith due to the history of the NCAA not liking to be told to piss off. Also they can never get a confession. They don’t have to here. I doubt any of the people convicted will be able to provide evidence to overturn a court document or they would have. A lot of the people that were convicted were convicted of things that are ncaa violations. The NCAA had to wait until the year to trials were over to get the free damning evidence. These people were arrested in September of 2017. So close to 2.5 years. The schools were notified in under 2 years from arrest and after trials concluded. With all of the appeals I think within 3 years of arrest is actually a decent pace. I probably had different expectations, but it’s always about a year after notice of allegations come out where the penalties are announced due to all of the appeals. We will see what comes of this, but I would not want to be Will Wade, Bill Self, Sean Miller, or the Louisville program. Others will get hit hard too but those were the most boisterous. I will respond by saying Bozich will not badmouth IU because they won’t let him or his press pass will be revoked on certain subjects. While I have no doubt he said that, I will bet my house he would have responded the same no matter the truth. That includes premium forums too. If you want an honest answer on that one ask Dan Dakich. He was a coach for many years at IU and also has plenty of friends still around campus. He doesn’t have to protect IU like others. Not really. We were across from where he came in and 12th row. It just looked like he was taking it all in at first. Then it seemed when he started getting emotional he would start playing to the crowd. I have been to many games and events in my lifetime and I have never seen a smile as big on his face. Complete joke here, but maybe that’s why it was so awkward to some. Pat was pretty emotional throughout. At one point we saw Vitale sobbing like crazy. I was more emotional than I thought I would be. Yeah watching Coach Knight in person walk into AH was worth watching that **** show. It seems some were expecting more than what he gave. You could feel his emotion in the crowd, but you could really feel the emotion of his players. Coming from someone that didn’t care either way if he came back.
