We have 2 people coming in that are better than him right now? You don’t truly believe that do you? If so, you are wrong. Very, very wrong. Lander at best at 17 has more upside, but a 21 year old Durham at this point is better than him. I honestly have no clue who you think is better than Durham right now other than Lander, but come on. You truly have no clue what it means for a player to be in a program for 4 years and what advantages that holds. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Agreed. I know our supply chain was constantly saying this exact scenario would be the worst case scenario after they started decommissioning both inpatient and CCU. When I was at Parkview we did a risk analysis that determined where we were and where we were going. That was mainly due to us getting Randallia back, and building a new hospital in Wabash. Wabash went from a multi story hospital with over 100 beds, down to a hospital with 26 beds, no OB, and only 6 that went as CCU beds. They can convert more but that’s the norm when these larger Health Systems took over due to pricing. Well that and they got full control of their patient list. If we had enough beds, ventilators, and anti inflammatory meds, IV, and PPE the death rate would be even lower with the measures we are taking. I hope this avoids northern Indiana to the degree of spread it has had elsewhere. It should as our population density isn’t near theirs. But if it starts spreading in some of these rural areas where this type of health system and setup is the norm or healthcare workers start getting sick, say a prayer. That’s all we can do beyond what is being asked of us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

We are looking at June to July and that’s from the government instruction. We are a financial institution so I would guess we will be one of the first industries back. But I think one misconception I tried going into more early on and was repeatedly corrected on my numbers and explanations from the CDC “if I even talked to them” this was never about mortality rate. It’s about the overwhelming effect of amount versus chain supply/supply and how many rooms we had. Anybody that has worked in healthcare can tell you in most healthcare systems we had atleast 25% more beds 20 years ago. A couple of things have changed to massively decrease that. Health systems were mostly just started about 20 years ago. 30 years ago they were non existent. I am going to use northern Indiana because it’s where I live. You had Lutheran and you had Parkview 25 years ago. Then you had area hospitals. With the rising cost of supplies for various political reasons those Parkviews and Lutheran started buying up area hospitals in the late 80s/early 90s. The big hospitals could get better prices as could the area hospitals. About 20 years ago when there were health systems they decided its best to have one hub (Parkview Regional Medical Center), and the area hospitals then feed into that one. The area hospitals were outpatient mostly facilities whereas PRMC became the critical care facility. Parkview has Wabash, Huntington, Randallia (opened up again due to shortages), warsaw, Whitley, Noble, LaGrange, and Dekalb. Out of all of those there is less than 50 CCU beds. In those hospitals you will be lucky if you have 5 ventilators. When the bigger hospitals get inundated those supplies stay at the big hospital. Now these hospitals can expand. But between those two health systems which is northern Indiana there are less than 500 CCU rooms. Can that cover northern Indiana? Long winded response to say this has nothing to do with mortality rate. It has to do with transmission rate and the toll it is taking on our supply system and structure. In hospitals they will have to decide soon (already here in NYC) if they are saving you or the 70 year old healthcare worker. In some instances neither because they don’t have a ventilator to keep you from drowning.

When I was sick in February into March there were a few on this board with the same thing. I had pneumonia and I don’t have underlying health issues. First time I ever had it. I had that a stomach bug, bones hurt, obviously short of breathing, lost smell and hearing from the congestion, and fever. That was all over a 6 week stretch. I am healthy. I have never been sick for more than a couple of weeks with strep (usually a week for me) or bronchitis (usually 1-2 weeks of a cough for me). Everybody in my house had it. Wife and kids. Kids not as bad as us. I am 37. I carried a 101 fever for 12 days. Longest I ever had a fever was 3 days with strep. I just don’t run fevers ever. My wife, kids, and I went to the doctor. I went 3 times over that 6 weeks cause I just don’t get sick and I was convinced I was dying. They couldn’t figure out what we had. All of us tested negative for strep or the flu each time. I was sick the final two weeks this really blew up earlier this month. I can’t say with any certainty what I had was this, but it’s my family’s belief based on what our lives are normally like and what we went through. If it was I feel for anyone not as healthy as me that gets it. It was a crazy bad bronchitis/flu/pneumonia/sinus infection rolled in to one whatever I had. Edit: You all hate me after a loss. You should see me when I am sick. I hate that ****. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

He was not projected as a first rounder after the tournament. If he was he would have been gone. He was projected at number 11 by NBA Draft Express FOR 2017 in 2016. That wasn’t the norm. But hey comparing his situation to TJD’s makes a lot of sense. Oh and here is his “That’s a wrap” after his freshman year. Start talking is different than he is a first rounder. TJD is actually legitimately firmly on radars after his freshman year. OG intrigued people with his length. There are draft boards before Clifton Moore was here that had him on there years out. So his future NBA status was conditional on his games where he had 14, 7, then 2 points his freshman year? Had nothing to do with earlier in the year when we had players out in conference and he tore it up? Guess my memory is failing me. https://www.insidethehall.com/2016/03/28/thats-a-wrap-og-anunoby/ Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

To be fair when you start 0 games as a freshman, average about 13 minutes per game you don’t get invited to much. Then when you blow up early your sophomore year and have the physical traits he has that tends to happen. Wee bit different scenario. OG would have never got invited for workouts. TJD will. Apples/Oranges on another level. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I am like rcs29. 87 tournament. I had uncles at Purdue at the time. My whole family is a Purdue family on my dads side. My dad, aunt, and two uncles went to Purdue. I remember being with my grandparents watch most every game that year in the tournament. I was hooked and my family was pissed at my grandparents. Edit: Anybody that knows me on here knows my grandparents had season tickets to IU games. Without them I don’t know how I would have ended up. Grandma was diehard PU fan cause of her kids, but grandpa taught us right. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
If our cases climb that is when the death rate will climb. Italy does not have as many ICU beds as us. The reason their deaths have peaked earlier is more due to them running out of beds earlier with a lower population. Places I would worry about beyond New York would be are New Orleans and Philly due to economic conditions, close living quarters, and limited healthcare versus population. The disease itself will kill probably at 1% give or take either side. Our death rate won’t climb higher unless they run out of ICU beds (these rooms will have the ventilators and there are less ventilators than ICU rooms). It’s a lot easier than you would think. (2020) SF Jordan Geronimo to Maryland
mdn82 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think the biggest problems we have is our inability to create turnover and shooting. Archie wants to get out and we have when we create turnovers. The length and athleticism this kid has if he plays with any level of effort will be huge imo. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Especially being s burger boy. He was definitely in that upper echelon for 3 years and then totally redeemed himself. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Charlie Miller. Just never got better. When you start at IU as a freshman there are certain expectations. At least there were then. During his time was when I realized it may be a while before I see 30 wins again. Didn’t think it would be like this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Imo this is the type of player that will succeed in Archie’s system. Multi year player that has length and athleticism. He will create turnovers or he will get out on breaks. Probably not going to be a player that thrives in the half court at least for a couple of years. Excited about this one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

This is all I am saying. If you had the opportunity why wouldn’t you? They still have to invite you, but if one team would why wouldn’t you? To act like it is the dumbest thing ever is just asinine. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
