Hey guys, a coworker I am close with, her husband just died from Covid. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Before anyone asks, 60 with no underlying health problems prior. I don’t want anyone responding with political bias/nonsense. It really wouldn’t help.

Hey Natty, I know in Huntington we have had two kids in the first week week that we know tested positive and they have quarantined not quite 100 kids in the first week. With that, we had a bunch of kids get opted out. Ours were 4th graders are Roanoke and Horace Mann. We had other incidents where kids are quarantining until test results not associated with positive tests yet.

I don’t disagree with this angle. Would love to hear why the medical personnel voted this way. But telling your 18-22 to do something is what I responded to. I don’t know how much luck you have had with it, but it just doesn’t happen for me.

Is his son not an adult? I think this is the wrong decision, but I don’t see how he forces his son to do anything. Let alone will I judge him for that.

It’s sucks, but can’t say I am surprised. I am just disappointed that it is ok for 40,000 people to be on campus, but not ok for 150 or so people with players and staff in a semi controlled environment.

I will give him this. If he really gave his kid that at this level he has balls. Those Russian winters and vodka really harden them I guess.

I don’t disagree at all. But you would think with 40,000 people on campus it would be easier to find a liability issue than on the football field. I know the heart issue is what is creating pause, but if a football player is getting it now he is definitely getting it when constantly grouped with that large of student body. Guessing most football players aren’t taking many classes in the fall. In their spare time with no season, I am sure they would just hang out. I know I would at that age. To me it’s riskier to not have a season.
