I wouldn’t doubt there is some level of that for sure. The biggest problem is it shouldn’t be a decision at his level imo. It should be at the top of the NCAA to set guidelines. If the guidelines cant be met because of state laws or any other reason then you cancel. The uniformity of party line politics in college sports isn’t my lane. They can save that **** for someone else. I understand where the B1G/PAC-12 or SEC/ACC/Big 12 are located. I know why we are where are. But this whole f’ing year doesn’t sit well with me. I am not too worried about people’s perception of our commissioner either. I would shocked if you polled 100 people at a football game who it is if even 10 would know. People’s perception of Kevin Warren doesn’t really change anything, now or in the future. I will always be of the mind if we are on campus they should play however.

What’s funny is I was listening on the radio today with them talking about the ACC being mad at the SEC for the same reasons. They were talking up they knew the B1G and PAC-12 would do something drastic then after they made their decision the SEC went rogue from the ACC. That in turn makes it so some of the ACC biggest games won’t happen. Florida being in the SEC won’t play their normal Miami and FSU games. Finebaum is a SEC guy so I have no doubt the SEC feels that way. But it sounds like every conference commissioner is mad at the next one for the same reasons.

Yes, in my opinion. Unless they can create a viable bubble that limits travel. The politics of this won’t allow for a uniform judgment. But it is immensely hypocritical to bring everyone on campus and say sports aren’t safe enough. Flip it to the other direction I would prefer not, but definitely not as strongly. There would be situations where they could keep kids safer than the a normal every day kid. Not every school, but IU could for sure. But one thing is missing in all of this. A laid out plan, so everyone has understanding of what is expected and the consequences of any actions or positives.

It might be beneficial for these conferences to I don’t know, maybe discuss where they are and why before we come to decisions. I will always be of the mind if 40,000 kids can be on campus they can play. It’s a chicken **** move to say otherwise. There is not a sport that will put any kid at more harm than being back on campus if that’s the problem. Student athletes are tested more regularly. They have the ability to ensure smaller groups for larger sports. I just don’t get how we got here, and that’s coming from someone that is perfectly fine with the stricter levels of care for student athletes.

The one take away I thought was interesting is it almost felt like he was telling kids if they want to peacefully protest they can. I assume he knows kids will take that as they can during games.

I legit didn’t. I honestly don’t pay enough attention of whom is sponsoring whom to say left or right. I don’t necessarily read a ton from them so that’s why it wasn’t obvious. I just across an article that was posting numbers and statements. I went to Fox News to find out about the 310. But they weren’t on that 500+ numbers. I was more curious of with where things stand, if that forced an Alabama to pull out would that effectively cancel the season? I think it would take an act of Congress for that to happen. But I would have thought the same with the B1G a couple of weeks ago too.

Ok I googled HuffPost and found they are left leaning and Trump has called them fake news. The article I posted itself is straight data from the Covid dashboard in Alabama with Governor commentary shutting down bars for two weeks and then potentially shutting down the school. There was no in article commentary about the data from the reporter. That’s where I was confused on why the right came out quickly. I guess we will all believe what we want, but I will assume the governor won’t call himself fake news about the possibility of shutting down the school if things don’t turn around.

What information are you looking for that wasn’t presented? It had the Covid dashboard for that state which is different per state. They reported what was based off that data. That’s what Notre Dame is doing which we are seeing frequent data from here. The only thing I did different was cite the website? I am legit confused.
