God is amazing! So after I put my two weeks in I was let go immediately. Unfortunately, my new employee couldn’t get me started early so I was going to go a full month without a paycheck. My new boss and employer felt really bad that they were able to get approved for me to have a sign-on bonus that is equivalent to a normal two week paycheck at my old job!!! They’ve never done anything like this before but wanted to help me out (I never asked other than wanting to start earlier than the 28th with being let go). Thursday was a really bad day for me when I thought my family would have to go without my paycheck for a month. So blessed and thankful right now! New boss and employee are AMAZING!!! This isn’t directed towards you or anyone, but I think the recruiting miss thing is a little overblown to a degree. I feel it’s just highlighted because the shooters he did recruit went elsewhere, but Archie has gotten a lot of good recruits to come here. Putting this here instead of the FSU game thread which is an article from ITH. Reason why I’m posting it here is one of their takeaways about not doing well on the road against a ranked opponent. I think people need to understand while our offense still isn’t good and that IS on Archie, that all other areas are improving, especially the culture with the team which is HUGE! I’m not excusing the bad offense, but we have no proven depth right now with Brunk hurt and Jerome still getting himself adjusted. Depth can also be placed on the coaching staff too, but that took a hit with Smith transferring. This team is relying on freshman right now to fill major areas when there have been no tuneup games. It wasn’t just that he made some outside shots, but his defense was better overall from what I’ve seen and his effort was really good. I agree he needs to be more aggressive on offense because he is such a weapon. Overall, he looked more comfortable than he has and that’s going up against FSU’s length and athleticism. I received a call today that I got the new job! I’m so excited and can’t wait to get started. I put my resignation in today with a 2 week notice, and was let go within 30 mins lol. Spent over 7 years at my old back and was told to go within 30 mins, but I’m very happy and relieved to get to my new bank and rock it! Thanks for all the positive words and prayer! I watched the game on DVR after I knew the result so I didn’t have to deal with all the emotional frustrations I’m sure I would have had. Still, I felt overall this game was encouraging because I was very nervous coming into this game. FSU had more length and a better coach than Texas, so I felt this was going to be a typical let down game. I was very proud of how our team fought and played overall. If we had rebounded better then we win this game. Yes, our shooting still sucked but we’ve come to expect that. If the team would have fought harder and grabbed a few more rebounds, IU wins. I’ve seen on Twitter a lot of people dogging Rob, and I felt this was his best game yet as he was attacking more and trying to be more aggressive. Him and Jerome had probably their best games of the short season. This was a big test for IU and they lost to a top 25 team on the road in overtime. While disappointing to lose, it’s nothing to be mad about. In the past 3 seasons, an IU team would have gotten blown out, but this team showed they really want to win and will fight. My frustration comes more from our players and staff being screwed by the B1G’s own rules that they are breaking. Trust me, I think OSU is the better team and more deserving, but we all know if we swapped records with OSU the B1G would never have done this. It’s official, lowered the requirements to 5 games. This is so infuriating the our Hoosiers did nothing wrong, and go screwed by the B1G for meeting the requirements set forth and agreed upon.
