Str8Hoosiers replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Are you sure? I went to his profile and it says the last time he was logged on was 1/27/15 and his last post (as recorded there) was 1/25/15... Maybe talking about a different person? Alaska - Can't tell the tone of your response but I am pretty sure Naples was not being serious.... -
Prediction League Game 30 (Week 17) IU vs Iowa (03/03/15)

IU 69 Iowa 65 -
EDIT!!!! I just looked at the picture again... this time it appears Cream & Crimson.... is that our Alternate Jersey for this year?

I have tried everything to see Blue or Black... It is WHITE & GOLD no matter when I look at it, on what (pc, phone, etc) or the light in the room or anything... I get from some of the explanations that people process colors differently but white is white, gold is gold... So are you telling me some people are out there wearing "Gold" necklaces but some of you think they are wearing BLUE necklaces?

Indiana vs. Northwestern 7pm ET on BTN Official Game Thread

I was gonna give you a down vote too... just because you wanted it right? LOL (plus I just wanted to see how far negative the number could go) However I have reached my quota... with only 1 as far as I know... Not a very big quota of Down Votes available!!! -
Not say crean is bad coach just questioning some of his choice
Str8Hoosiers replied to Hoosiers High Life's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
But did anybody catch how upset Troy was at this... as he was walking to the line he glanced over and saw his sub going to the scorers table and made a very noticable face of frustration.... I even commented after he missed the 2nd free throw that it was probably deliberate (the missed FT) as it was his only chance to stay in the game as he was getting "hot" -
I feel the opposite... I feel Yogi tries to sell too much!!! Don't get me wrong I am not saying anything bad about Yogi because he is truly one of my favorite all time... but I do see a habit of trying to sell fouls so often that I beleive the refs miss the real fouls because they are assuming he is trying to do a sell job... I know Russel (OSU) & Trimble (Maryland) try to sell and do that stupid head flinging but they are freshmen and the refs honestly don't have as much experience with them... many of the same refs have been reffing games with Yogi for 3 years now....

Big Ten Tournament - Can Indiana get a Double Bye?
Str8Hoosiers replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
All that beautiful analysis and then the very 1st assumption made goes awry.... LOL (Maryland vs Wisc)... So with new info what does that mean? I saw in another thread that actually really helps us as far as double bye chances go? I haven't looked at the other records (updated) so not sure... obviously we have to win out for any shot but maybe there is still hope afterall!!! -

Northwestern pre-game 2/25 7pm
Str8Hoosiers replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well yes... That's why the (maybe)... Just hoping the national audience (media/experts) can see it as a road game and not a home away from home game if you know what I mean... -
Northwestern pre-game 2/25 7pm
Str8Hoosiers replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Losing more national respect (no votes in AP poll this week)... Winning this game is a must... Doesn't matter where they are ranked in the BIG... A road win in a hostile (maybe) environment will go a long way with perception (a la potential seeding) -
Word from the UofL boards is that it was an assistant coach who suspended him and brought him back after he did the right things. Then after the Miami game Jones got drunk and punched a girl in the face at which time he was dismissed. Lots of bad off court issues and locker room disruption from him as a very selfish player and person.

The fans aren't going to the games?
Str8Hoosiers replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wow. I decided to read through all the comments before I replied to any.... and now there were so many that i wanted to respond to that I forget.... So now I will just give my opinion (and try to hit the ones I remember). Somebody mentioned the "Famous Fans" and I can say that Mellancamp has been there everytime I have ever been to a game... including this year. I agree that technology has made it a great experience to watch games from home... however as somebody else mentioned NOTHING can possibly be better than the atmosphere in Assemby Hall on game day.... I wish I could go to every game. When I do go I stand the entire game (luckily my seats are always right on the wall so nobody tries to get me to sit down). However i had some friends want to go to the UM game with me recently and while tickets are technically available (Stub Hub for example) they were nearly $200 per ticket ($43 face value of my tickets).... I want the place to be packed and everything but I wouldn't pay that much for a ticket... *** I also wouldn't sell my ticket even for that amount I only get to attend 2 games a year but both this year seemed like the crowd was there. Not a lot of empty seats in the lower section... balconies weren't packed but I don't think they ever really are. I did notice MUCH less of the other teams fans invading (although 1 of the games was OSU so harder to tell). The UM game had much less yellow than prior years. I don't think it has anything to do with Crean or even the team troubles prior to the season... I truly think it is just a shift in the way people watch sports. But if some students or anybody else aren't using tickets i am all for opening them up at a decent price, I know there are plently of people that would fill the place!!!! -

NCAA Considering Freshman Ineligibility
Str8Hoosiers replied to LIHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Could be, I was just guessing/assuming really... I just assumed the job was to do the best interest for it's members... But it could include future members in which case the more years you can play and the more $ you can make is beneficial..... Thanks for the info. -
He hits that he wins the contest.... Especially if he could have gotten it on the first or 2nd throw....

NCAA Considering Freshman Ineligibility
Str8Hoosiers replied to LIHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not sure what say a NBAPA Union director has in all of this? College players are not part of the union. If the NBA decides to set an age requirement (or in this case raise an age requirement) all the union could do would be look out for the interest of its members, all of which would be unaffected by the new requirement. Adam Silver and her will probably keep fighting about it but I think this is more in his wheel house and he controls if this happens or not once all is said and done. And if the NBAPA does somehow stop it they will hurt their product even more if the NCAA goes through with the threat of Freshman ineligibility.
