I understand that, I also understand this is a fairly minor issue... But it's a pattern and I'm so tired of that being the only news... Immediately on UofL talk radio, UK & UofL fans all over it... Winning cures a lot but it's almost time to sacrifice winning to fix the BROKEN culture... I don't care if they drink, smoke, or party however... Surround yourself with better people, don't be stupid, don't get caught/arrested/cited... Don't make the news!!! Pretty simple... I do dumb shit all the time, stuff that would get me in trouble if caught... I mean do they even feel it's wrong? And if so why not hide it better?

I'm not the judge, jury, executioner but that was a start... Way too late for both of them... If each player gets 10 chances then that is not REAL consequences... I'm not saying kick these 2 off the team... But I'm also not mad if they are both gone... What does 0 tolerance really mean... Consequences for the whole team, guilty players, innocent players, coaching staff, program...

Yea so maybe make the joint practices public with concessions, TV, etc... Make the owners the money they desire and potentially save the players.

Saw this debated on First Take this morning. Currently the NFL has 4 preseason games (NCAA has 0). With the injury concerns what should change? If anything? The argument was that since college has none why are there 4 needed for professionals? The biggest reason mentioned was $$$. They suggested that 1 dress rehearsal game would be a good compromise and plenty to get ready for the season. I feel the preseason is more important for young players and especially for player #40 - #53 (I think that is the final roster size)... Those guys go all out and are playing for something... For the starters and even 2nd string they are going through the motions only... Teams still make a lot of money on these games but pretty unsure to the fans who want to see the stars... Jordy Nelson, Kelvin Benjamin are just a couple this year that are out already and why? But my thought is also if you don't play players in the preseason would we see the same high injury rates during the first few weeks of the regular season? Is it a matter of working the body too hard in camp after an off season? Would a slower return to football help or hurt?

Then you have to know who you are surrounding yourself with... You are a known person, maybe people are jealous or whatever, but you can't do the same things all the other kids are doing

Wonder where you could find that type of information? I would be curious to see it, although there are always injuries I feel like there are more to start the year and less as the year goes on... But maybe it's just the spotlight put on pre season injuries. Another option mentioned was scrimmage type pre season games, shoulder pads and helmets only, no lower pads, QB completely off limits, no hitting low at all.. Would help condition the players to tackle between the hips and shoulders.

Didn't know that.. (Don't use the app).   So maybe I am wrong... in that case where are all the Fantasy Football players... LOL... Guess they saw the list of people already in and were intimidated!!!  :laugh:  :taunt:

My guess would be that far less people check the posts in the Off-Topic Forum vs if this was to be posted in the Basketball board for example... or even the Football Board.   Or it could be that people are already in a lot of other Fantasy leagues...    And there are actually 21 signed up (Still not a lot considering the number of sports fans on the site).

Besides the fact that this will more than likely cause a Divorce (Wife is Diehard UofL Fan) this is very exciting... Can't wait....   Very odd that the Football series is so far in the future, I don't follow College Football but is that normal? Are schedules that far out (obviously less games per year)? Or are they trying to give IU time to get on a more level playing field with UofL.... at this point in time a IU v UofL Football game wouldn't help them at all...

Sorry I didn't realize you already had something like this going.... I just love me some NFL so I like doing the Fantasy, the Survivor, the Pick Em, all of it... got a little too eager I guess.

Which is why I like to use the confidence points setting.... Takes a little bit of the luck out of it...

I have played pickup games against the likes of Bryant Northern (UofL), BJ Flynn (UofL), & Sherron Wilkerson (IU).... that's about it that I can think of... Usually some guys from the Purple Aces too but I don't really know who they are now.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but it sounds like you are taking a dig at Crean with this comment... Then say next that if you were the coach you would do the same thing?... Maybe I'm taking it wrong because that wouldn't make a lot of sense to bash him for making the same decision you would make, presumably the decision thought to be best for the team for whatever reason.

I would start Holt in most cases, however Johnson would get more minutes through out the game. He would get minutes with a 3 guard lineup as well as spelling Yogi & JBJ.... Holt would split time with Hartman, Max, and the 3 guard lineup. Fluid based on opponent but this for the majority of games

Winning RIGHT is the most important thing... Very big difference.   My expectations are good, my aspirations are Great.   Expect 3rd in the B1G, Semi-finals BTT, Sweet 16 March (depending on the draw).   Aspirations are B1G Title, 1st ever BTT Title, BANNER!

This is like waiting to be picked last for the kickball team!!!!!!   I would say I enjoy reading the majority of people's responses... I don't really think too much about who it is or form ongoing opinions...   I am usually pretty entertained/interested in what is said by Rebel & IUCharlie... There is always great info from Paps, CCG, and all the mods.... Then there are the few who I never agree with that I enjoy reading (to a point) just to see how far out they are with the occasional good point...

Bryan I have emailed you the sample of some rules that my other leagues use.... As I said it doesn't matter to me if you want to use any or all of them... just a pure sample...   Oh and I am sure you will be Commish of the year... I am POSITIVE you will be a better commish than this so called royalty league will have!!   (FYI - I can't seem to quote posts, anybody else having this issue?)

I have ran in both as well. and to each their own... I like the tools available in Yahoo more. In yahoo you can set your draft order anytime you want... in ESPN it randomizes 1 hour prior to the draft (I use Yahoo more so I am positive about the Yahoo portion, maybe ESPN has a similar setting that can be modified)   But I appreciate you taking the lead and setting up the league... I don't know if everybody will be using the same rules (except the PPR of course) but if interested I can send you the scoring rules that have worked well in some of the leagues I have ran... Of course if you have ran some you probably already got it covered.

I believe I am in the 2nd league... If so I would much prefer Yahoo... I actually have a league in both already so either way won't kill me but Yahoo is 100000 times better than ESPN... (In my opinion)
