I know RPI is a thing of the past and is no longer used but I heard we would currently be the lowest rated (by RPI) team to ever be an at large... is that correct? I think it said we were 81 currently. I know NET has taken the place but will the committee still see that 81? How drastically can that change if we win another game or 2?

Very disappointed... he mentioned that several times he had thoughts of transferring... But that goes to show how strong he has been. He has gone through a LOT in his time with IU, Crean to Miller, #1 Rankings to Struggling teams, Teams with Chemistry to (rumored) Chemistry Issues, Shoulder Issues.... and he has come through it all to become a Favorite and a Great College Player.

LSU hasn't learned the best practice is Deny Deny Deny.... Don't self punish.... even if guilty the NCAA hasn't shown they are willing to do anything.

Great overall game and so glad to have the confidence back... not only the team but the fans (myself included) as well... Hoping this is gonna be a fun ride the rest of the year. I love it when Green plays like he did, crisp passes and as others mentioned he makes plays others don't even see... sometimes he gets flashy (the dump off to Smith on the fast break dunk), sometimes he dose too much, but when he is on it is fun to watch. Smith had his 2nd really good game in a row, very patient and poised. Took what was given to him and didn't force anything. Phin was absolutely the MAN in this game.. he went where he wanted and did what he wanted, he was unstoppable plus as usualy played great defense. Romeo... IDK.... stood in the corner on the right side of the court for a majority of the game... I thought he mentioned he had learned from his mistakes by taking the ball to the hoop at the end of 2OT against Wisc but then when he has the ball in his hands at the end of the half, he dribbles up top for 15 seconds then chucks a TERRIBLE shot... He did play good defense and when he drove under control it was nice... still needs to get better dribbling the ball, it is a scary sight to behold when he has the ball and is under pressure... LOVED LOVED LOVED the De'Ron technical... they were manhandling him all game and he made it known he wasn't going to take it... I thought it was a quick whistle but I don't know what he specifically said... but it obviously got the officials attention, they warned ILL big guy not to say another word shortly after and the fouls evened out! Need that fire and he is a BEAST... we are better with him in the game.

So in summary every Mid-Major wants/needs games but none (not many) are willing to take the risk of losing those games that could help them so instead they play terrible teams to rack up wins and then people are upset that they don't get an At-Large bid? As USPS stated maybe these Mid-Majors need to rethink their strategy because the way they are doing it isn't getting them very far. If Indiana played the schedule Murray State has played and had the same record then no they wouldn't deserve to be in, but if Murray State played he schedule IU has what would their record be... It is easy to look GREAT via the Eye test when your competition is subpar, that is why the eye test isn't a criteria..

Not true at all... you think they would have trouble scheduling Home & Homes with teams like South Dakota State, Utah State, Yale, Old Dominion, Grand Canyon, Fresno State, Vermont, San Francisco, etc... all of those would be much more impressive than anything they have done (Austin Peay). And if not then ok schedule them on the road, if you want to be legit you start there and then if you can handle it and win then others will be forced to come to your home for them to be legitimized. Go to Toledo, Liberty, Lipscomb, etc... YES I would expect a Mid-Major or a Power 5 to be able to go on the road to those type of teams and win... may lose 1 or so but if you can't win in those type of places consistently then you don't deserve to be an At Large Bid in the NCAA Tourney.

People say the field is terrible EVERY year... no matter what that is always the discussion... because 99% of the time the last teams in (even the last 15-20 At Large teams) don't have a realistic shot at winning it all. In 2009 Wisconsin & Arizona made it with 19 wins while Michigan & Maryland made it with 20. For Mid-Majors Dayton & Butler both made it with 26 wins. All 6 of those resumes were much better than Murray State's this year. If they don't win their tournament they are not in, don't deserve to be, no matter 1 player, no matter some random eye test... every team has the option to schedule games (and then win them) to make them a legit At-Large team and they did not do so.
