Wow this is a bittersweet thread to look back at for me.... 2017 - First post I said I like the acquisition of K - S Hauschka.... now I could not want anybody to get cut more than him.... The high school soccer GOALIE would be a better option... 2017 - Can't believe we had the chance to have Patrick Mahomes and the GM blew it.... 2018 - Was coming around on Allen (Full disclosure Mayfield was who I wanted in that draft.... Now I think Allen has the potential to be the best of the recent QB era - Everybody is all over Lamar currently but he will fizzle out within a few years the same as RG3, Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, etc. Running QBs just don't workout long term as they either get hurt or other teams figure them out) Current - Super amped after the Thanksgiving day beat down on "Dem Boyz"... feeling like a great shot at the playoffs. Still curious if we can complete with the upper echelon (we will find out next week with Baltimore). Love the Owners, Love the GM, Love the Coach.... Lets go BILLS MAFIA

Genuinely curious here.... what is a good enough shooter? Is it stat based? Eye-Test Based? Something else? Stat based - Devonte is a career 39% 3pt shooter (111-284). Steph Curry was a 41% 3pt shooter in college (43.5% in the NBA). Eye-Test - I sure as heck agree, I don't want Devonte taking the same shots I would be ok with Steph taking. I know Curry is just 1 example, but I was trying to compare to possibly one of the best 3 point shooters ever who I don't think most would say isn't good enough to take any shot he wants.... To go more similar what about Ryan McMahon for UofL? Would you say he was a good enough shooter to take any shot he wants? He is career 134-340 (39%). But watching him play when he pulls up I believe it is going in every time.... and rarely do I think, wow that was a bad shot.

That wasn't at all the point of my post... but it is exactly how you always post with the everybody is wrong if they don't agree with me style... you can't use 1 argument in 1 topic and then hypocritically use the opposite argument type in another. As for what I saw... I saw Devonte play a good game, I saw him play very good defense, I saw him hit shots, I saw him provide a spark. And I will take a Heat Check shot at any time because he is our shooter and that is what shooters do (Shoot). I will take the turnovers as well because he can make the passes nobody else can make, they are electric and on top of an assist for 2/3 points it also has repercussions for the game flow moving forward. So you agree with every sportswriter? Maybe because they agree with you, because many (notice I didn't say "all" or "every") posters on this board disagree with the concern. No players game is immune to criticism, but that doesn't mean you have to be looking for a reason to criticize. Who says all Heat Check shots are misses? But even if they were then yes they are the same.... unless time is winding down and we are trying to milk a lead to the finish line a missed shot is a missed shot... Making a turnover on an attempt for a "hero-type" pass vs dribbling off your foot both do the same thing, give the ball to the opponent... and in this guys opinion I would much rather the pass attempt than an unforced dribble off your foot, step out of bounds type turnover.

Aren't you constantly railing on about circumstances... and looking at the bigger picture... this seems contradictory tonight because it doesn't fit your narrative about Green.... And I thought you were actually coming around on him.... but nope, just waiting for a chance to pounce...

This is exactly what happened.... we came out strong... we went on a 10-0 run... we forced them to call a timeout and regroup. They did regroup and reeled us back in throughout the rest of the first half. I know it has been posted by others but this is College Basketball, we are not playing middle schools... yes we are better talent wise and we should beat these cupcakes (and we are).... but this isn't the Globetrotters vs the Generals... the other team is trying to win too...

The odd thing is he seems to get elevation on his mid-range jump shot... but behind the arc he barely lifts... *** Haven't read through this thread yet so forgive me if already discussed.

I get you don't like him or wanted somebody else or whatever... but if the entire basis of your constant negativity is that he doesn't evolve and we don't make progress with him as our coach i am curious as to how you measure progress? Wins? Year 1 - went down 2, made progress as the year went on as we had 2 more conference wins than the prior year. (I don't see that as bad with an entire new staff and philosophy, not even to mention the players) Year 2 - 3 more wins than year 1 Postseason? Year 1 nothing, year 2 NIT, Year 3....? (Seems like progress to me) Eye Test? If you can actually tell me you remember what the first game if his tenure looked like and we still look the same then there is nothing else to say? Stats? Points Scored up 275 in yr 2, Rebounds up 173 in yr 2, Assists up 34 in yr 2, Steals up 27 in yr 2, Blocks up 20 in yr 2... FGM up, 3FGM up, FTM up.... the only statistical category that didn't improve in year 2 was turnovers Recruiting? As previously mentioned 2 (possibly 3) straight Indiana Mr Basketball, Locked down the State, good momentum
