How does this work? Each week I will create Prediction League threads for the weeks game(s). I agree with you both... it is not a normal basketball move and he DID deserve to be tossed... I just hate that the basically got away with it from the Ref standpoint... and then the other coach complains (because he saw it blatant and plain as day). They got the call right in the end... I guess it just shows how bad refs can be (I know it is not an easy job but that looked like a pretty easy call from the ref that was standing right on that side of the court)

Oh I am sure of that.... just watching them run their mouths and the way they were acting I wanted to do it well before Al did.... I was just curious if anybody ever made mention of it publicly. That is the bad part of instant replay in my opinion... If it was called a foul and they wanted to review the severity of it so be it... but to not be called at all and then based on the coach complaining it gets reviewed and he gets tossed... that is terrible... however he did it so the ref that was right there didn't see it was good enough....

Not to derail too much... but has anything been said about this? Did Al or the team address it? Claim it was an accident? Anything? I watched the game and it looked like he probably did it on purpose, your elbows don't usually raise that high making a spin/cut... but just curious as I never heard anything about it after the game.

Starters: Green - Still in my opinion the most important guy on the team. ONLY guy on the roster that can consistently shoot and score when needed. Best passer on the team as well (even considering the BAD passes). He tries to get to fancy and make passes that aren't made but I would take that over the other guards not even attempting the pass. Big guys are working hard down low, at least they know Green is going to try to get the the ball. Durham - Start but be on a very short leash. You can see within a few possessions if he is going to be aggressive on both ends and really effect the game or if he is going to no-show. (if he no-shows bring in Phinisee early and only give Durham spot minutes the rest of the game) Smith - He has shown the ability to make an impact. Defensively he is much better this year. Needs to be more aggressive on offensive boards, and back-cuts. Not shooting 3s. TJD - As others have said he is our Best player this year. Continue to play exactly like he has been. Demand the ball, be vocal if we begin to go away from what is working in the game. Brunk - He has his moments of Houdini but overall he plays HARD all the time. Great motor. Good hands, finishes well around the basket. Continue to learn the defense, don't hedge so far that he can't get back in time. His interior passing with TJD is a thing of beauty (goes both ways for the 2 of them) and I want to see them on the floor together more than relying on just Brunk down low. Bench: Phinisee - Has to get healthy... whatever that means... if he needs time off give him time off, if he needs game minutes give him 40 a game and spend every off day in the gym putting up shots..... he hasn't shown me much of anything all year but I think he is important in the grand scheme. Come in for Durham when he is having a bad start to a game. Race - Spot minutes. He can help on the defensive side but hasn't shown any offense and that is where we are hurting currently. Franklin - He does some good things but he is not ready for Big Ten level competition. His shot is not there, his handles are not there. Keep working on his game but limited game minutes from here on out. Damezi - Bring him in to stop an opponent guard. Hound him like nothing else. Irritate him. DON'T shoot. Don't dribble, don't drive. De'Ron - Come in to give a few HARD fouls at opportune times.

Can't use YUM! We could use Freedom Hall if you are advocating putting it in Louisville but that was a point of contention when UofL moved into their own building.

I get that, and I understand the frustration... I was frustrated watching it happen.... I guess all I was saying is sometimes its not as simple as the coach went away from it. We were having success and ND changed their defense to focus on taking away that success and they were successful at doing so.... I believe we were trying to do things to correct the offense and get it working but those things didn't work. They only defended the paint and FORCED us to shoot something else and Devonte hit a couple jumpers but nobody else could get a shot to fall so they stayed packed in to stop us. Archie perplexes me with lineups etc some times.. I in no way find him above reproach but when it comes to stuff like this I just don't understand it, I realize the other team has a coach too and we can't just do what we want all the time.

I guess you don't know what to tell me then... I saw an opponent change their entire defense to take away our strength that was killing them... I guess Brey cost ND the game because they let Franklin shoot 3s... or because he didn't stop our interior game in the first half. I am not in the huddle but I'm 100% confident Miller wasn't saying ok we established the inside now we are going to establish the outside... truly show our dominance overall, forget the inside lets show them we can do everything

I love this team... I have my favorite players and those I don't particularly like, but I love how any given game it could be somebody else leading us to victory... I love the way they seem to play hard, the way they play together, the way they interact...

Brunk... have yourself a game sir. Devonte knock off the me first crap but keep playing hard Franklin get that confidence going

How does this work? Each week I will create Prediction League threads for the weeks game(s). It's a simple concept: Each week you start with 100 points (only if a prediction is made, otherwise 0 points for the week) +25 PTs if you guess the winner -25 PTs if you pick the loser +10 PTs if guess IU score correctly +10 PTs if guess Opponent score correct -The # of points different between the actual and predicted score of IU (over/under doesn't matter) -The # of points different between the actual and predicted score of opponent (over/under doesn't matter) *** Reminder if you post a prediction and want to change it, please just POST a NEW Prediction, do not edit a prior post as I may miss those edits.
