Who would you hire to replace CTC?
All_Hoosiers replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Hopefully everyone hops off the Shaka Smart train. He hasn't done much outside of a (fluke?) final four. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Did I hear correctly that Iowa lost nine games it led at the half this season? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I'd take Bruce Pearl in a minute. Auburn's gonna be good soon. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I was just getting ready to say Pearl is off the table and back in the NCAA... somebody is willing to take the risk.....
I'd gladly take the risk, especially if I was someone like Auburn.
I believe he has apologized for his mistakes in the handling of he Pierce case. Can coaches make mistakes and be forgiven or does he need to be burned at the stake?
If that's the case, then we might as well forgive Sampson and not scoff at people who suggest Pearl as a possible future replacement. Fred Glass Interview (CBI, Mike Woodson, IU Scheduling)
All_Hoosiers replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
SMU doesn't have a lot of name value, but that's a good team coming in next year. I'm not expecting a win. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I think by his senior year he could have a game that resembles what wiggins is doing for Kansas. Now I'm not saying he's wiggins in any way but wiggins does it all as a wing and I want to see troy get to that level.
That would be amazing: freak athletic, good rebounder, good scorer. It's possible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Curt Miller is doing wonders. Great to see. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Troy's going to be the best out of this class. So much potential, and he's started to really work hard on his game. He ended the season on an upward trend, and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
To bad he couldn't teach Vonleh anything, otherwise he would stay another year
You seriously think Crean taught Vonleh nothing? Some don't realize how bad Vonleh was at the beginning of the year. His size masks a lot. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
It's great to see Alford having huge success and UCLA but it hurts to think we couldn't have made that hire post-Sampson. He's a Hoosier at heart and he can obviously succeed with big programs, how the boosters at the university didn't make that happen and turned their back on Mr Hoosier himself absolutely stumps me and makes me think "IU people" weren't behind the final decision... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Huge success? Getting a little ahead of ourselves, eh? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I love Fred Hoiberg, but I don't think he'd leave Iowa State unless for the NBA. -

Everyone loves Indiana basketball. That doesn't mean we're prohibited from being upset. -
F...and that may be being kind.

Steve Alford doing great in first year at UCLA

If Alford never played at Indiana, not a single soul here would care about him. or want him as a coach. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Congrats to Steve Alford for winning the PacTen tournament and getting an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament in His 1st year there. This once again proves how stupid IU is for not hiring Him. Lets review, Head Coaches since Bob Knight: Mike Davis, Dan Dakich, Calvin Sampson and now Tom Crean. None of these guys compare to IU grad and National Champion STEVE ALFORD.
It's gonna be a shame when he gets bounced early again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I'd take Bruce Pearl in a heartbeat. You won't care about him after he started winning. Why Shaka Smart? I like Tony Bennett. Brad Stevens over everything. Edit: I also like Danny Manning. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Vonleh Leaning Towards NBA Draft
All_Hoosiers replied to HoosierRob's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
NV isn't ready, and anybody that feeds to him that he is, is doing a major disservice to his real potential as a pro...the kid is barely 18 and gets frustrated with an Illinois triple team or a Northwestern zone. Can you imagine how he is going to exposed at the next level. Sad. Sad for him more than anything else. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I bet he knows he's not ready. He wouldn't even start for the 76ers. That said, it'll take years to develop regardless of where he is, so he might as well get paid doing it. Plus even if he doesn't develop to his full potential, he has the size and rebounding skills to stay on a bench for a long time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Vonleh Leaning Towards NBA Draft
All_Hoosiers replied to HoosierRob's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He'll get eaten alive next year, but I can't blame him for leaving if he in fact does. It'll take a couple years to develop regardless of where he is, so he might as well get paid doing it. Plus with his foot issues, take the money before health becomes a big problem. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Throughout my life, Indiana has been pretty bad. I'm tired of losing and a change may be needed, but not at this exact moment. Certainly not time for a change if the best we could do is a Mike Woodson or Jim Crews. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
First, I don't think indiana wants to send the message that they will fire a coach that loses so many players from the previous year. That's a bad message to send to other coaches around the country. Also, how many recruits would they lose if they decide to do that? If, hypothetically this were to happen, I'm not sure Woodson would be best choice. Personally I think Jim crews, Calvert cheaney would be better choices. Just my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I really hope we can do better than Woodson, Cheaney, or Crews. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
