Thoughts on Crowd Booing CTC/ Players?
True Hoosier I was greeted the same way by the thought police who don't like someone who doesn't very carefully craft thoughtful criticisms of the team and coach that won't result in any players or coaches being sad. You will be called classless and demoted to the mean spirited minority. I really enjoy the youthful ignorance on display because someday life experience will help them self adjust. They didn't live through greatness like we did so they have no platform from which to understand RMK and the spirit of that era when we walked around all puffy chested because we were the ***** of the walk. They read about in a few books and heard stories but never bathed in Showalter fountain. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Oh, how I wish it were 1987 again. Then my best memories of Indiana basketball wouldn't be two Sweet 16s and Eric Gordon. I'd probably be harder on Crean if Indiana hadn't been irrelevant for most my lifetime. How's Hollowell Doing?
Here's hoping Hollowell transfers out at the end of the season. We need bigs who can play college ball. Hollowell plays like he is still in high school
He won't take the easy way out. Other than Yogi, he's the only one who has a shot at actually being a really good player for Indiana from his class, which is why I support him. Have to stick with him for now. Thoughts on Crowd Booing CTC/ Players?
I couldn't care less what anyone thinks. If the product on the court is lousy, or the coaching decisions, in my opinion, are lousy, I'm going to boo, be it at Assembly Hall or Mackey Arena. That doesn't make it classless, or tasteless. It doesn't make me less of a supporter of the team. In fact, it probably makes me more of one, as I care enough about the product and the school to call a spade a spade. I've watched enough of Crean's teams now, to know he doesn't have what it takes to win a National Championship. Even last year's team, while everyone was saying we were going to win it all, wasn't good enough. Crean is 25% coach, 25% snake oil salesman, and 50 % cheerleader. People will, and are beginning to get tired of his "rah, rah, rah" approach to coaching, which isn't really coaching at all; It's hype, and very little else. Recruiting is going to become more difficult, not as a result of what a recruit may or may not hear from the stands at Assembly Hall on any given game day, (you really think they haven't heard booing before?), but because they no longer believe Crean is THE coach capable of taking their game to the next level. To a recruit, the voice of the cheerleader in charge is beginning to fade and they're beginning to look at the product on the floor; just like the rest of us. Neither party likes what they see. They're slow of foot, and slower of mind. They haven't got a clue how to set a pick, or screen, and seldom even try, (This point alone makes me wonder how in the hell Crean became a coach). They have athletes, but not great basketball players. They move around the court, but they move without any direction or purpose or plan. When time is running down on the shot clock, they settle firmly in to street ball, and hope that their athleticism bails them out, which more often than not, doesn't. In short, they're a shinier, newer version of what we saw in the 70's and 80's under Lou Henson at Illinois.
Who exactly is THE coach capable of taking their game to the next level? There's a difference in getting drafted and getting better. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Crean needs to sub his stars out right before a TV timeout like he did with Yogi yesterday in the second half. That way, the stars get a rest, but miss minimal game time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Thoughts on Crowd Booing CTC/ Players?

I was yelling at the tv so I'm fine with spotty boos. Crean deserved it. At least he adjusted and did well the rest of the game. And I certainly hope no one actually believes Crean has "worn out his welcome." Exactly what has he done to warrant that? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What are your feelings on Coach Crean?
Develop more in college? No chance. It's your job in the NBA with no limitations on practice time. Nixie Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
The problem is there isn't much in-season practice in the NBA. Most, if not all, real development in the NBA happens in the summer. In college, players practice hard during the season and in the summer, allowing them to develop year round. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What are your feelings on Coach Crean?
Cody "needed another year of development in college", came back, left after his 2nd and is horrible in the NBA. You will develop better in the NBA than in college. Nearly no 1 and dones are "ready" when they leave.
Cody isn't an NBA caliber player and doesn't have an NBA body. We shouldn't be shocked he isn't performing well this year and we should never expect him to be more than a solid role player. I wouldn't begin to compare him and Vonleh You actually develop a little better in college because you get so much more practice time. I've seen a lot of draft guys say college develops better and that's one reason why Embiid from Kansas should stay even though he could be the number one pick this year. Noah has crazy potential (much higher than Cody), but still needs some work on both ends. Leave now, and he'll develop a little slower and it'll be a few years before he's really good in the NBA. Another year of college will do much good for him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What are your feelings on Coach Crean?
It appears Vonleh is gone after this year, and the window may again close for IU. Why would any top tier big even consider playing in this offense? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Noah Vonleh needs at least one more year of development in college, and I hope he realizes that and stays. Crean can at least tell top tier bigs that Cody got the most shots in his two years here, but that was a different team and offense. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    The Rotation
I know this has been discussed on here before. There is no reason in this world we need to be playing 12-13 guys a game! We don't have 12-13 guys (right now) that are B1G basketball players. Love our walkons but they are walkons for a reason! I know Howard does somethings "decent" and doesn't make mistakes but other than not making mistakes does the kid give you? NOTHING!!! So let's keep him and JM on the bench where they belong. Here's the guys that need to play. Yogi Vonleh Sheehey Williams Robinson Perea (10 minutes at best, unless foul trouble) Gordon (same as Perea) Davis (would like to see get more time) Etherington (5-8 mins) and when/if Hollowell gets his head out of his butt, he takes Davis' spot.
Hanner should never play. Devin Davis should never play. Give me Jeff Howard all day over them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Indiana vs Michigan Post Game Thread
I had brought it up during the game thread and Jaybob wanted me to bring it over here. In the last minute when it was obvious we were going to win, the bench was cheering and just overall happy for their teammates. You seen 2 players noticeably pissed. They weren't happy. They weren't cheering their teammates. Jeremy and Devin just honestly looked like they could have cared less. I don't want to speculate on anything beyond that, but actions speak volumes. I sure as hell hope we don't lose either, and especially Devin. I think that dude can be an excellent 4 year player. Unfortunately, we all know transfers are a large part of College ball, and under Crean.
I'm worried about Hollowell because I think he can be good. I won't read too much into him because he never looks "happy" and I'm pretty sure that's just his look. If they want to transfer, then so be it. Devin Davis has a long way to go and will sit. Transferring wouldn't hurt him. I don't think Jeremy will or wants to transfer. He won't take the easy way out. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Indiana vs Michigan Post Game Thread

Good win. A lot more work to do, but a good win. It'll be a year before he can truly dominate college basketball, but Noah Vonleh is so good and has so much potential. Yogi was special today. Carried the team to victory. Aside from the questionable lineup involving Marlin, Etherington, Howard, AND Hanner, I was pleased. On to Minnesota. Big opportunity upcoming.       Crean is definitely at fault for this. No one can deny that.   Note: Hanner played 13 minutes last night. In three Big Ten wins, he averaged 4.3 minutes per game. In five losses, he averaged more than double, 9.6 MPG.

What are your feelings on Coach Crean?

That's my point. I have a problem with the few that want him fired this instant. He has to miss the tournament next year for me to start really considering it.       I think Cody got out because the weak 2013 draft class was his best shot at a high pick, and he still was a late lottery pick (projected) until Michael Jordan saved the day. How high would he realistically have gone if he stayed and entered the 2014 draft?

I think it's fine to criticize. I'll criticize too.   My only problem comes when people suggest he be fired.

I wouldn't necessarily call it "talent." It's talent, but not really basketball talent.
