When are the NIT participants announced?
I just hope he doesn't play Gordon. Let the freshman and will play. Gordon contributed nothing this year in my opinion. Should've of just kept mo creek. Hopefully we stop bringing in transfers that have nothing invested in the program. At least bring in guys that will be here a couple years not fifth year seniors that will hamper the development of the younger guys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Not saying Evan Gordon is amazing, but Mo Creek wouldn't have done much, if anything, playing Big Ten basketball this year. Yogi-"roller-coaster season"
All_Hoosiers replied to yogisballin's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I had heard that in a post game press conference, Yogi said that this season was a "roller coaster" season. Wonder he's referring to? Is it locker room/coach issues? Sounds like he may be questioning some of his coaches' decisions or lack thereof??
Grasping at straws. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I just have a hard time saying that's all of it. Let's face it, even with Cody for two years we struggled to get him the ball. 3 years with the exact same problem tells me it's systemic.
It's definitely not all of it, but I think it's part of it. I agree this team doesn't do a good job of getting big men the ball, but if Noah were better at getting good position and better in general offensively, he'd probably get the ball more. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
He didn't get many minutes until recently. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
There's a reason for that. He wasn't very good, and he's still not that good. He's better than the alternatives, but we shouldn't act like he's already a stud. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

If he leaves, Noah's gonna get eaten alive in the NBA next year. At least he has his rebounding to keep him around for a while so he might as well leave. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
Ok I honestly wish Crean wasn't as bad as a coach as he honestly is. The fact of the matter he just isn't as good at the Xs and Os as most elementary girls basketball coachs. We don't even run an offense. We just hand the ball off and there is no movement at all with anyone who doesn't have the ball until there is a few seconds left and we jack up a long shot. We can't even get the ball inbounds from out of bounds. Half the time we are throwing it 3/4 the court to try and get it in. No one sets pick or moves to try and get the ball in either but I assume the reason is the same as the 1/2 court offense they do not have any plays to run(at least none worth anything). The only time we look good is on fast breaks. Another thing I don't understand is if u ask a group of 7th graders how tobeat a zone they should be able to explain it to you. How can Crean or anyone on the coaching staff for that matter not understand how? If you don't understand something as simple as how to beat a zone why would you try and run a zone yourself...... Crean has to go for IU to every have a chance to be any good. We basically had a team that should have made the Final 4 with a 2 year old coaching them. Anyone who disagrees please watch all 4 guys on offense while Yogi is just dribbling around and they are all stagnant.
We should just hire this guy. Post-Season Prediction League: IU vs Illinois (03/13/2014)

I'm more worried about the opening game than a possible matchup with Michigan: Because 2014 Indiana basketball. Let's get this over with, and by that I mean: let's win this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Official Indiana vs Michigan Game Thread
All_Hoosiers replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I really like the group that started the game. Indiana controlled the half, and must continue to do so in the second. Tom Crean generally game plans well, leading to first half leads. It's the second half that gets him. Adjustments or no adjustments, I just want a W. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Prediction League Game 31 (Week 17) IU vs Michigan (03/08/14)

Noah Vonleh sort of reminds me of Andre Drummond, not in the way they play, but although Drummond wasn't amazing in his one year at UCONN, he had tons of potential and then some. It took a couple seasons, but he's starting to play really well against NBA competition. Vonleh has a lot of work to do to polish and expand his offensive game and also learn the intricacies of defense. He's not an incredible athlete, but that doesn't matter because his size makes up for that. I think Vonleh will and should stay, but he has the work ethic, body, and potential to excel at the next level. Might as well leave, especially if Embiid and Parker stay. I think he'll get three years: this year, next year, and the year after. If we have Indiana seasons that resemble much of what I've grown up with, then he'll be gone. If we succeed and win some, he'll stay unless we never make it past the second round or something. This is an endless debate that there isn't one solid good answer to. There's positives with Crean. There's negatives with Crean. Those negatives might sink him though. If it weren't for Cody Zeller and Yogi Ferrell, he completely misses on two recruiting classes and I think that's led to this season - mediocre play and coaching. Time will tell how good these freshmen and the 2014 class will be and I hope they're freaking amazing. And for his sake, he better hope they're freaking amazing. Crean will stay in good graces for a long time with tons of people because he brought the program back. He'll also never be in good graces with a ton people until he hangs a national championship banner. As for me, next year is make or break regarding my feelings for him. I don't think there was much more improving Cody could do and this year's draft was supposed to be stacked (false) so he left. Noah has exponentially more room to grow and develop compared to Cody. An extra year of college ball won't hurt, but that's his decision and I don't think there is a wrong one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
I think a change could be made in the spring of 2016 if we still haven't gone past the Sweet 16. That team will feature a senior Yogi (he isn't leaving early for the NBA, don't believe the hype our own fans have created), a senior Perea and juniors Troy and Stan. If Troy and Stan are anywhere close to VO on the development curve, that could be a pretty awesome team if we have a competent post player. Another early exit that season on top of what we've just gone through and I think the alumni will force Glass's hand.
Gotta have to agree with this. If we can't advance past a Sweet 16 with a senior Yogi and others, we probably need to make a change. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
