    TOM CREAN FIRED

I'm just curious. If Coach Tom Crean is that bad, why is he the only coach to win the B1G outright two out of four years in the last eight or nine years?

#11 IU vs #2 Kansas Game Thread

Prior to the Bellarmine game our guys went hard for two straight days in practice per CTC. During the game the off the ball defensive footwork and extra small steps were tremendous. I'm stoked to see how well that energy is applied to a team like Kansas. I'm also anticipating more shot and pass fakes from our guys on the offensive end. This is a great group of guys! Go Hoosiers! Thanks to those who are serving or have served in our awesome armed forces.

  6. Dynamite comes in small packages. I believe hops come wrapped in this package as well.
  7. Maybe John is getting a little Antsy. Dean Francis ‏@OttosWorld365 12h12 hours ago Dean Francis Retweeted Evan Daniels Interesting. No wonder Kentucky started to make a big recent push on Tremont Waters in the PG department. Dean Francis added, Evan Daniels @EvanDaniels Five-star point guard Trae Young won't be signing early, per his father. Wants to watch the schools recruiting him during the season.
  8. Did anyone state that? I would not be surprised by what transpires with a UK recruitment, I just thought this was worth bringing back up as I feel CTC had developed a pretty good relationship with Tremont. Regardless of getting the desired result, I appreciate the fact that we are in a position to land this great lad.
  9. HoosierD had posted this youtube earlier in the thread. I think it is worthy of a review if you have viewed previously as I've quoted a couple of key questions here: Writer: You were talking about wanting to find the right fit. What is the right fit for you? What are the most important things in thinking of college? 4:07 Tremont: I would have to say.. not someone who is all about basketball, but someone who wants me to be a good man, and have a life after basketball. That would be the first part and going to a school where I can be the lead guard running the show and pretty much take over. Writer: When did Duke offer you? 4:24 Tremont: Duke offered me the same day Kentucky offered me. I think it was the last day they could offer kids. I don't remember, but they both offered the same day. ........Writer: The programs that have proven that they can be kind of a one and done factory ... if you will ... Do they have an advantage over schools that don't have that kind of track record? 5:26 Tremont: [Shaking his head no] ... not really, I would have to say it all falls on what I said before. Great man, great staff and they want to see me suceed not only on the court, but also off the court.
  10. This was great. Thanks for sharing! I wished the video would have kept rolling as it looked like the Shot Doc was going to bust a gasket from laughter when OG said "What they said".

    The Coaching Thread

I found this article interesting. Some coaches may pick up an idea or two from this as well. Crean’s thoughts on spacing, driving the ball and using the dribble to create 3-point opportunities Link

    Looking to next season

Nice read from Rick Bozich: Indiana's Thomas Bryant focused on building a basketball career, not a big splash "When the scoreboard clock signaled the end of the organized workout and the coaches dispersed, there was Bryant, shirtless, sweat streaming down his shoulders and cheeks. Bryant wrapped his right arm around Anunoby, his fellow sophomore. Both guys knew what that signaled. Their work was merely beginning, starting with a spirited game of one-on-one. “Those two guys live in this place,” one member of the IU basketball staff said. “They’re always here. They’ve got the same drive to succeed Victor had.”" Full Story
  17. For those who have not had a chance to see the video that mentions "Did you notice Coach Cal ... : http://usatodayhss.com/2016/mohamed-bamba-2017-recruit-kentucky-indiana-calipari-crean-thomas-bryant#sthash.5NErVqYg.uxfs&st_refDomain=t.co&st_refQuery=/TF3uyiV2Mh The video is worth a listen. This is one sharp lad. It's awesome that CTC and staff are putting us in a position to win with such a fine young man. "Mohamed Bamba, a 6-11 center from Harlem, N.Y. Bamba, who attends school at Westtown in Pennsylvania, is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the country by Rivals. Bamba has offers from Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina and many others. He said Indiana sophomore-to-be Thomas Bryant has impressed him. “His motor is incredible,” Bamba said. “If I can emulate his motor to get to where his is, it’d be crazy. To see that he’s going to stay at Indiana another year means that he really loves the program.” -- from Kyle Neddenriep of Indy Star
  18. Who were the top prospects regardless of class in the spring? There is only so much more that can be said about Romeo Langford. The 6-foot-4 combo guard leads the adidas Gauntlet in scoring, and then also is one of the top rebounders on the circuit. Overall Langford averages 23.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. What is even more impressive is that Langford is shooting nearly 59 percent from the floor showing significant efficiency to his game. continue Recruiting: It is still early for Langford, but Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, andKentucky have offered and are heavily involved Credit: EVAN DANIELS, BRIAN SNOW AND JOSH GERSHON of ScoutHoops
  19. Who were the top prospects regardless of class in the spring? It was an easy choice to put Mohamed Bamba on this list, as the 7-foot post player has had as good of a spring as any prospect in high school basketball. Not only has Bamba been productive with averages of 12.7 points, 13.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocks a game in the EYBL, but he’s shown flashes of his elite upside and long term potential. At his size with a 7-8 wingspan and a 9-6 standing reach, continue Recruiting: North Carolina, Duke, Indiana, Wake Forest, Connecticut, Kentucky, Villanova and others Credit: EVAN DANIELS, BRIAN SNOW AND JOSH GERSHON of ScoutHoops
  20. Link to Story by The Elkhart Truth “(Wife) Joani filmed it,” Crean beamed proudly, “but she dropped her phone before the thing cleared the fence because she got so excited.” - Quote from Tom Crean regarding missing Riley's first over the fence homerun. lol-x3 Not because of the misfortune of dropping the phone, but because of the joy in Tom's face as he tells the story. I like how he answered the question in regards to his biggest weakness as well.

IU's Tom Crean Charms His Audience

More from Anthony Anderson of The Elkhart Truth “Collin will get the cast off (his right wrist) soon, but the way he’s shooting it with the left hand, I’m not sure we’re in any rush with that,” Crean said only partially in jest, adding that Hartman is shooting over 50 percent on left-handed 3-pointers during workouts. Morgan is returning from a shoulder injury that caused off-and-on issues last season. “I’ve had kids cleared that don’t want to play, but Juwan always couldn’t wait to get back in,” Crean said. “That’s a tough young man, and people haven’t even begun to see what he’s capable of yet.” Regarding others on the roster, center Thomas Bryant and forward OG Anunoby, a pair of sophomores-to-be, garner the most excitement among pro scouts.Crean doesn’t disagree. “When he leaves, he’s going to leave for a very long and illustrious NBA career,” Crean projected of Bryant, “and I give him a lot of credit for understanding at age 18 that he could’ve (declared for the draft this year), but that he’s got a lot room for improvements. He’s having a great time. He knows he’s getting better and he knows he’s got a chance to be one of the best players in the country.” Said Crean of Anunoby, “Enjoy him. I’m not sure we’re going to have him a real long time,” either. Nice comments on Josh Newkirk. Interesting statement on MSB.
  22. I like how on each of the videos Jordan plays through contact. When he is 6'-8' away and directly in front of the rim, he picks a spot on the window and uses it well.
