  1. You do realize that the model is changing in college sports in the next 2 years. The McD 1 and dones will be going straight to the NBA, not college. So you need guys who can develop over years. LD could average 15-8 his senior year, all depends on development. Think the Wisconsin model for big men, that’s what we are going to. Then sprinkle in a TJD and KL a yea. Then you have yourself a final four caliber team. But when those guys leave after 2 years, you need guys like LD ready to step in and produce. That’s how you sustain success and not have the highs and lows where you miss the NCAA’s. I highly doubt we are done recruiting big. Be happy we got a guy who could be a very solid piece down the road. Hell maybe he blows up over the next year and becomes a top 50 recruit. Who knows. Also, you expect LD to be a bench player but his actual rating score is higher than Leal who you have as a starter. Leal is a .9522 on 24/7, LD is a .9556 on 24/7. I think both will be starts by their junior years but not expecting it as freshmen.
  2. Duncomb will probably be a 10 to 12 pts and 8 rebounds a game player by his senior season. Leal is not good enough to be a starter as a freshman. You are underselling DL and overselling Leal. Leal will be lucky to average 5 pts a game a freshman.
  3. Yes and No. fall sports is a no. Spring sports that were just starting, yes.

    2019-2020 Season Review

Micro level there were issues on a game by game basis. Macro level there was progression in year 3 from year 2. So that’s two consecutive years of progress. Slowly building. Im optimistic for next season.
  5. If we make the NCAA Tournament, the pressure lowers immensely. If we miss the NCAA Tournament, then he is on the hot seat next season with a new AD in town. I think Archie knows this. Which is why we see a more intense, short fused Archie. He doesn’t want to be fighting for his job next year. Which will hurt recruiting. He wins and gets into the NCAA’s this year and all the noise goes away. He can just keep building.

Not going to win on the road with every calling going against you in the final minute of a tight game.

He cut his hair. First game after the new style was his first game he struggled. He hasn’t been the same since.

Go Rutgers. No fouls and milk the clock.
  10. I’m sorry but Al Durham is a junior captain and was a total no show. He is needed for leadership and he was scared in the moment. Sack up or sit on the bench. I thought Franklin needed for run tonight. He at least wasn’t afraid.
  11. I’m sorry but you can’t play 3 of Race, Trayce, Joey, and Smith at the same time. It’s just clogs everything up and makes it easy for the opposition to defend.

(2021) PG Khristian Lander to INDIANA

Rob is a sophomore and projected as, and still is, a 4 year player. He has shown flashes. I think he takes another step as a junior and will be a top 3 or 4 PG in the conference next year. Cowan, Winston, and Simpson all graduate. Carr, Phinisee, Frazier, Carton will be the top of the PG listing in the Big Ten next year.

    Sure, I guess.

How Far Can This Team Go?

It all depends on matchups and where we are seeded. If we are a 8/9, then opening weekend. If a 7/10 seed, then maybe sweet16 depending on the matchup.

But they will make the NCAA’s. Lol. I mean look at the metrics.
  16. Woj is reporting that Beilein and the Cavs are looking to part ways. If a big donor wanted to fork over the $$ to make a change after the season, that would be a big upgrade. I get Beilein just turned 67, but he could get this program back on track. Heck hire him and have him hire the HC in waiting as an assistant. I have said I’m not giving up on Archie, but if the opportunity arises to get who would be the top coach in the conference, you do it.
  17. I believe that is grad transfers. IU has to offer a program the previous school did not offer, if I remember correctly.
  18. This. I would expect Archie to go find the top Mid Major PG and Scorer and sell them on playing time.

    Starting lineup

Franklins lack of playing time is weird to me. He has shot 38% from 3 since the Nebraska game, but his minutes have dropped this month. The last 4 games he has logged 7, 10, 2, and 6 minutes. The 4 games before that he logged 23, 15, 10, and 18. When he was getting minutes he was the most productive.

Purdue needs to go 3/4 to end the regular season to have a shot come BTT. They could easily go 2-2 and need to make the BTT championship game.

    Starting lineup

Team still plays better with Phinisee. I’m starting to have my doubts about him and we need to get a Juco/grad transfer PG, regardless of Phinisee development. He is only a sophomore and we knew coming into college he was a 4 year player that needed to develop. I won’t give up on him before he is an upperclassman.

    Starting lineup

I like the combo of Race and Trayce, as they have been productive together. PG - Phinisee SG - Green (if he struggles to the bench) SF - Hunter PF - Race C - TJD

    Beilein will be available.....

If we want a young coach, stick with Archie as he is young and learning on the job. IU isn’t a learn on the job program. Need to be able to hit the ground running and know your ****. I want a coach with a track record of success. I went to USI and would love love love Pearl, but it isn’t going to happen.
