Honest question because I don’t recall. Did anyone track and report on the flight when Dolson went to.meet with Woodson?

I know what you’re saying, but it’s actually much worse. Dayton and the A10 is much higher level than High Point and the Big South. Archie also had an Elite 8 appearance. The A10 has 5 teams in the Net top 100, including VCU at 29. The Big South has one, HP at 86. Every other team is 164 or higher, with half over 200.

I remember an article at the time where a journalist had anonymously polled a list of coaches as to the best hire in the B1G in 2017. About two-thirds said Archie, about 20% said Holtmann and about 10% said Underwood.

Wouldn't be shocking at all. He'd currently be at G League Ignite if they hadn't folded.

Correct. Easy to search. All graded an A. Most said it was a can't miss hire.

Wasn't being negative at all. I've never understood how posting factual stats is viewed as positive or negative. It's a true statement that there are similarities between Dayton and Creighton. Both have a long history of success and phenomenal fan support. Both have had numerous successful coaches there. Dayton is also a private Catholic school. They would actually fit in well in the Big East. It's also true that McDermott failed at ISU. Archie failed at IU. Anthony Grant failed at Alabama. Brian Gregory failed at GT and S FL. But Altman has been successtul at OR. Creighton is like Dayton. Everyone wins there. They've had a few clunkers, but not for long. There's a belief among some in the donor community that this season would have turned out differently if Malik hadn't been injured. They've made a big investment in a core group of players (Rice, Carlyle, Malik & Mgbako). They'd like to see that group return to maintain continuity and not have a total rebuild.

It’s Cronin. Everything Dolson is looking for. Both sophomore guard Eric Dailey Jr. and junior guard Skyy Clark are first-year transfers this offseason and are receiving their first seasons as a Mick Cronin-coached player. The way they both spoke about his coaching style proves that they are beyond grateful for the job he has done this year. “Since my first day here until now, I've definitely matured probably the most I have in a season," Clark said. "He's [Cronin] taught us a lot; he's taught us just about how the real world works and he's definitely tough on us. There's some days we walk into practice and he's just on us the whole day, but if you really sit back and look at it from a different perspective, you could tell that he does care about us and that he's looking out for our best interests.” "I feel like coach teaches a lot of lessons that don't pertain to basketball too," Dailey said. "A lot of life lessons, a lot of real-life situations. I know y'all so well, the media talks about how he coaches and everything, but I think that's real. "He's just a real coach, a real person, and that's really what you need to survive in this real world. He's taught us a lot, taught us to save money, he taught us how to manage money, taught us how to be a good person as well through basketball. "I think just the discipline side of it. He yells, but everything in the world is not going to be nice and pretty, so I think that's making us tough for the real world." https://www.si.com/college/ucla/men-s-basketball/bruins-mick-cronin-eric-dailey-jr-01jmz2e65cs0

We’re saying the same thing. Similar to a potential recruit. Someone may know something about one individual, but not about multiple potential candidates
  14. Motley's

    General Coach Candidate News

Exactly. There’s no such thing as an “insider” who has info on a coaching search. Certainly not multiple searches over many years. Sometimes someone knows something about a recruit because they may know the family, but that’s a one time deal. The speculation is fun, though

Hearing more names like this. Before it gets to unproven names like McCollum or McMillan, there’s a faction that sees a move to a Groce or Alford. John Groce, Akron Zips John Groce has turned the Akron Zips into a powerhouse in the Mid-American Conference. The Zips have won two of the last three MAC tournaments and have gone 157-86 under Groce. Prior to coaching at Akron, he spent five years in the Big Ten with Illinois, where he went 95-75 and reached the NCAA Tournament once. He also won two MAC tournament titles as head coach of the Ohio Bobcats from 2008 to 2012. His tenure with the Bobcats was highlighted by a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in 2012. Groce’s ties to the state of Indiana could make him an enticing candidate. A native of Muncie, Indiana, he started his coaching career at Taylor University in the NAIA before serving as an assistant for the Butler Bulldogs.

I think it just seems that way because there are a disproportionate number of posts saying Stevens is in play. What do you think would happen if you said Turgeon was in play.
