IMO UCONN guards are quicker and stronger than the PUke guards. Of course the black hole will never have a foul called on him nor will he ever be in any kind of foul trouble. UCONN guards can hit those mid range jumpers and strong enough to drive all the way to the basket.

Honestly Woodson should have NO EXCUSES next year. HE will determine how the roster is filled. They will be HIS players. BUT like in horse racing, it is hard to teach a horse he can win when they are use to falling behind in the homestretch. Also, the "big three" should have no excuses. Let's get a center and a shooting guard and some quality bench players from the portal and see what happens. I am not betting a dollar on anything though ... except on the craps table and horses. You have a point there. I am not happy either way because I have learned my lesson with Woodson. Not until the B1G season and during that season will I personally know what his team will do. I don't care if they sign more 5-stars or rake in the top 5 portal players with money floating everywhere ... but I wonder. Would the players that would have replaced Galloway, Reneau and MgBako been better?? None of us know that but for some reason and it might be due to lack of sleep ... I think it's a good thing that all three of them are coming back. BUT BUT ... big shoes to fill in replacing Ware. Lot of open scholarships and lots of questions for next year's team. -
That is about all I know about him too. Looked like he has a quick release for his 3 point shot. That is about all I know about him. I wonder what he was told on the phone call or visit that got him to commit. I am sure NIL was a huge factor. I'd agree, as a MCD AA, his is starting. Is he IU's "shooter" they wanted?

Didn't Clifton do pretty well at the school he transferred to? He averaged 12ppg and 6rpg his last year at LaSalle, but didn't do much his 5th year at Providence. I think it was at Providence I saw him do well for a game or two.
-
Could you remind my failing brain cells why you and many others think he should come off the bench, now as a 5th year senior? Is it to get a spark off the bench?? Is it his poor shooting form or inconsistent shooing percentage? Or it is of the opinion that Woodson can go out and get a legit PG and a lights out shooter a the other guard position? Serious questions.

ah, thanks ... I knew there was less scolly's available. With that lineup I don't see Tucker doing anything but coming off the bench. Am I wrong?

There is always a lot of smoke surrounding the IU program. Some true some false. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out by September 2024. -
As of the MgBako announcement less than an hour ago. SF - MbBako PF - Reneau Center - TBD PG - TBD SG - Galloway Bench is Leal, Cupps, Newton ... not counting walk-ons. IMO besides a 5 and a 1 ... they still need "a natural born shooter". Still plenty of scholarships to fill. (thanks to cybergates ... Tucker needs to be added. I'll add him to the bench but am sure others will have him in the starting lineup. Not IMO.)

From what I have seen just in the past two weeks, college basketball is all high pick and rolls, penetrate and throw it out for a 3 attempt, some lobs if you have a tall center. Nevada and Purdue are the few that screen away from the ball SOMETIMES to create shots for their "shooter(s)". I will agree those other schools build a roster while Woodson seems to be buying his. Has any of his recruits in his only two recruiting classes worked out? Mgbako, Hood-Schifino and Reneau have. He is behind the eight-ball in recruiting so he doesn't have much choice than use the portal as much as possible. Times in college basketball are changing fast, not as fast as football but fast. We might be "wishful" thinking wanting an offense of any kind. -
From the start of the tourney I have always felt that UCONN's guards are the key factor and IMO they are better than the PUke guards. Let Edey get his 30 and slow down or stop everybody else. Last night it looked like Mark Few had watched the Hood-Schifino game at WestLaughy ... their guard was getting that jump shot at the elbow. UT might beat them, hell I want anyone to beat them. LOL

Last night's PUke game ... the general fan will look at total fouls of each team to see if it was fair. The problem was Gonzaga had two bigs in early foul trouble and were headed to the bench for the rest of the half. PUkes, no foul trouble. By the tend of the game Gonzaga had two bigs foul out and a third with 3 fouls. Gonzaga's front line was called for 13 fouls, starting front line ... Edey played 38 minutes and only had 2 fouls called on him. Many were missed. Plus I hate when officials smile while holding a conversation with a coach, any coach, during a game.

A story I was told from a Cook employee about the IU player's summer jobs surprised me. I was told this story while RMK was still coaching at IU. I will not go into detail but it was the exact same situation that a University of Washington QB, Bill Joe Hobert was busted for. He had other major violations but the summer job deal was identical to the story I heard. UW fired their FB coach over it, was put on NCAA probation and it took over a decade for UW football to recover.

Dusty May had a short interview with Dan Dakich on his radio show yesterday. I only listen to that interview this morning. Nothing surprising in his answers but did say how he deals with the NIL and current UM players that are in the transfer portal. He did not discuss his plan for recruiting. He did say though, after a loss in the tourney and that a new job gave him new energy. Was hard to break the news to current team but knows what needs to be done. It was short and for those interested, it starts at the start of the broadcast.

Same thing happened to the same player last year in the tourney and the results were the same. A loss.

It is reported that Brandon Huntley-Hatfield from UL will visit April 12-14. He is to visit NC State this weekend but with them in the Elite 8, how will that visit go? If it happens this weekend at all.
