The odds are definitely against him. Will he keep any of the "lay up or 3's only" offense or something else? No matter who the coach was going to be, they are between a rock and a hard place after the last two years. At the same time it is hard to see where their next coach would have came from if it were not Graves. I'll be interested to see how he does there. That is now TWO coaches in D1 from Greene County Indiana. Pretty amazing when you think about it or have lived in that area.

I think I have the right thread .... Is anyone keeping track what players Michigan is losing and what Dusty May has signed since he took the job. I have seen players leaving but having caught any twitter news on what players are going to Michigan. I KNOW it's UM and I would not be interested if May wasn't the HC.

Being from Greene County I doubt that Matthew will be looking for the next job that pays more money. Granted not likely to have the success ISU had this year but they could be consistent with him as a coach knowing he will be there long term.

That final scholarship left open because they were waiting for a guard to make a decision. I can't remember his name but they were waiting. In the meantime they have an OV from the Hart kid from Linton and didn't offer him. The following Monday or Tuesday he announces he is going to UK. 6'5, good shooter, poor defender, Indiana All-Star but IU thought they needed that last scholarship for the guard they were waiting on. I wish my memory was better on this at least the names of the players and too many posts to dig through to get to last May 2023. Is that they others remember the situation about the last scholarship?

Competition for the best portal transfers will make it tough for IU no matter how much NIL they have. But I agree with you NO !!!!!!

I have to disagree ... won't look up their names but ... one shooter went to UT ... one PF when to UT and then to St Johns before the season started. They "targeted" more than 0 last year, they only got Ware ... so that is at least one "targeted" portal player. Maybe I am confused by your word "Targeted" ... seeing your post after this one ... "Prioritized" might be what you mean.

I don't like the HC but someone on the staff did good things for Renau, especially Ware and Mgbako. In their cases it had to be both ... staff working with them and the time they spent in Cook Hall on their own.

You may have forgotten all the videos from Gunn last summer working out with "his personal coach" in Atlanta. The kid was an All-American in those videos and rarely missed a shot. So between your two choices for him I guess all that is left is "the staff". Banks is a mystery to me but based on his laidback appearance I would ONLY GUESS he didn't spend enough time in the gym. I loved that kid and thought he would do well. Has he picked a new school yet?

1. Let's don't forget that Gallo will spend some time this summer recouping from surgery. 2. I agree ... I expect to see MgBako to be a monster next year on both sides of the ball. 3. I'd rather count on Rice after he is in Bloomington working out this summer with his new teammates. Until then ????

It is just hard to wait for 10-12 more days after the confirmed visits to see what the roster is looking like. Let's just say that MM, MR, Cupps, Gallo improve over the summer ... other teams have players that have improved also. Can IU win next year with it's current "base" of "run it back" ... I don't think so. MR is a foul machine, that MIGHT not ever change. I look for MgBako to be a big time player next year. Even if Cupps improves he will not be as good as the guards IU is looking at and has dates set up for visits. What will happen if those confirmed visits commit somewhere else BEFORE they get to Bloomington. THAT would not surprise me. I have zero confidence things will be better next season. Either they don't get the players they want or if they do get them, they don't change the offense to fit the players they have. Watching guards even from ISU was an eye opener and the offense UCONN ran was a dream come true. Will either of those happen by next season for IU ?? I won't bet on it.

The staff or Woodson did close on the players we got in the last three years but damn they missed on a lot of them. I KNOW you can't sign everybody but it sure feels they have missed on more players they wanted then the players they got. It is not teams getting multiple players so far, it is those that played in the tournament that have already announced a commitment, P5 schools.

Seems to me a Center needs a Center to at least practice against. Yet 7'1 Ware practicing against 6'8 or 6'9 Sparks evidently worked out okay.

It does make you wonder what takes IU so long to get commitments. Are they waiting for some other big name they have heard MIGHT go into the portal? I don't think so. You would think with those players from Indiana a commitment would already be announced. I have never thought all 6 spots would be filled. How many of the walk-ons are returning? IU needs a PG, a couple of SG and a C or two ... I don't see them filling all of those spots. BUT I am confused about this as always, after all, until I saw a school bus drive by my window, I thought today was Sunday. LOL

I believe the addition to the title has now skewed the data for Fire Coach Woodson. :) His title for most pages a few years from now will need an asterisk beside it to note the additional change to the title. :) Plus "Tyme" is now getting his ego stroked even more. He will go down in history of the BTB. This is all written with "tongue in cheek" with a side of serious to it.

I bought the DVD before seeing the movie. I THINK the movie was good but it is one in my collection that I have not watched a 2nd time yet.
