Only if we lose to Illinois again in an embarrassing fashion, and only if Brad Stevens’ wife approves. She loves Boston, you know.

Lou Watson quit at the end of the season, while Knight wasn’t fired during the season, nor was Davis, nor Dakich, nor Crean, nor Miller. Sampson was. In football, Pont, Corso, Cameron, DiNardo, Lynch, Wilson and Allen were all at the end of the season. Wyche left for the Bengals, Mal was let go the week before the season ended.

I can definitely state that I am not sleeping with Scott Dolson, though I should probably check with a couple of posters here to verify whether I am or not and whether there have been conversations about that and whether something is, in fact, in motion. Maybe this should be shared via DM?
-
I knew he wasn’t being fired after the Illinois game, and I knew that there wasn’t and hasn’t been any sort of discussion that carries Woodson’s fate from game to game in the course of the current season. I’ve been clear about where this is headed, and when, and I haven’t wavered.
-
No, I did not say that. In my opinion, he will be done when the season ends, but I haven’t heard one person say that decision has been made.
-
I think your first paragraph is a subjective one, but everyone can decide that through their own lens. But the culture of decision-making at IU is ingrained to such a degree that changes do not happen quickly, nor do they happen without input from people who often don’t have the slightest idea about what’s going on. Been that way for years all over the University and definitely been that way in the athletic department. Quite a few good coaches have come out of it but some really bad or ill-placed ones have resulted from it, too. I know it drives people here and everywhere nuts, but it isn’t changing anytime soon, in my opinion.

Ha ha. Like the stuff about him being out after the Illinois game? Whoever said that didn’t know about the process at all. Maybe it was Brad Stevens’ wife?
-
When did I say you didn’t understand how it works? I just called out the noise about him being done before Maryland, which was never a reality.
-
The process at this point, as it’s always been, is to evaluate and decide at season’s end. Nothing about that changed because we played poorly against Iowa or Illinois. Unless Woodson breaks whatever rules remain or has some sort of catastrophic health issue, nothing is going to happen.

LOL

That “flag” was planted quite awhile ago, and it stayed firmly in the ground after the Illinois debacle.
-
Remember, I specifically said “officially”. There’s a reason I did that, even after all of the nonsense about him already being let go after the Illinois game. Six weeks. Think of it as Lent.
-
Weren’t we told he’d already coached his last home game, even though that wasn’t in any way accurate?
-
Yes, the one and only process.
-
It will start officially in about six weeks.
-
Crean was a lot of things, but he actually worked extremely hard to try and clean up the mess he inherited, and he had a great respect for the University and our basketball program.
-
You couldn’t have been further from the truth, but that’s a “you” problem.
-
Actually, you did (it was your post where you managed to do this), but you knew that.
-
Nope. He threw it at Crean when Tom told him he was no longer welcome at IU. Dan put his foot down after watching all kinds of stuff happen for months. There was a reason the University never considered him as the permanent coach, and it was his total lack of credibility. Those bridges will burn on for years.
-
Nah, just having some fun after everyone got so upset earlier today.
-
Bravo - You were able to mischaracterize everything I said in one post.
-
Without question, and even when I’m not here, I’m always in your head and on your mind.
-
I came here to discuss the process and mindset within the University on matters such as this, and the “Fire Woodson” crowd didn’t care for that. The mistake I made was suggesting their reactions were emotional, which elicited an extremely emotional response from the unemotional and rational posters whom I called “emotional”.
-
I don’t understand screen names? That’s the road you’re going down now?
-
So why did he publicly dismiss his interest in IU and any possibility that he’d take the job? Why not say “They made an incredibly generous offer and I love it there, but our family decided that this is the place for us”? Instead, we got the “Masshole” soliloquy, which was dismissive to both IU and IU fans.
