You are listing the exact reasons you don’t build a roster in the portal. You do know that, right?

Who gives a flying %#* about the why. Both Love and Knecht would have helped this year. Period. The “reasons” are just excuses for failing to bring them in. And it’s this exact scenario why I am not confident the same mistakes won’t be made again. Being loyal to your players is what is sacrificed when you buy mercenaries in the portal.

Pushing back by the players and staff is never a good look. All it does is divide the fan base further. You also run the risk of alienating fans that were not part of the problem. There is literally nothing to gain for the staff or players to call out fans. What exactly did the players and staff gain by calling out fans? Just giving more ammunition to the haters if the staff fails in the portal or they don’t win next year. This isn’t the NBA, and Woodson hasn’t figured that out.

The IU fan base is massive. Got to take the good with the bad. Are some things inappropriate that the fans do? Yeah. But those same fans make it possible that the players get paid the way they do. Can’t handle the bad part of the IU fan base? Go to DePaul, Ball State, etc…..

And what if IU doesn’t win? For example, misses the NCAA. The staff needs to step down for the good of the program. Correct?

Do you think that gets better next year? Or worse?

Give me $4 million a year and people can impinge all they want….

Last time… wait until next year. You think this is “melting down”, just wait. I honestly hope the staff and players are prepared. Lord help them if they lose a couple early in the season. And especially if Woodson strikes out in the portal.

What is your connection to the IU staff?

Purdue is having the greatest moment in their entire history for the last 7 years. Think about it, this is it for them. It will never get better than being a 1 seed getting beat by a 16 in the first round. Oh….they had an elite 8 in there a couple sweet 16s, but it’s Purdue. Good for them.

Sorry man, the point was Kansas State didn’t bring in 9 transfers in one year. They brought in 4 one year and 5 the next.

Kansas State brought in FIVE 2 years ago, NOT 9. The other 4 were high school kids. And if I give you Kansas State, that’s ONE.

That would mean at least 7 players on every roster in the Sweet 16 were transfers. Thats not even close to true. And even if it was, none of them are bringing in 7 or even 6 transfers in one year.

Florida is the only team to bring in 6 or more transfers in one year and be successful. Illinois brought in 3 and Colorado State brought in 2 this year. Kansas State is 18-13 (8-10) this year.

Ok, what does the future look like? To me, next season isn’t based on player development, coaching, or promising high school players contributing. It’s based on if IU can buy enough talent. Thats it. IU’s season might be done by the end of spring. Also, do you know how many schools will make the NCAA with 6 or more transfers? I know. It’s not good. Did Michigan fans ruin Howard? Did UofL fans ruin Payne? Did OSU fans ruin Holtmann? No, they didn’t. Or is IU not at same level as those programs? You seem like you have a personal connection to the staff. Which, I get it, you need to defend them. But the bottom line, fans or not, Woodson is gone next year. Yes, Woodson and staff are killing it. They haven’t done a single thing wrong. You are right. I think Woodson should win Big Ten coach of the year. His brilliance is obvious.

What the hell does that even mean, “back off”??? OSU and Michigan fans aren’t “backing off” and they have had 10 times more success than IU in the last 5-10 years. Woodson is going to get fired next year because he is a TERRIBLE college basketball coach, not because of the “mean” fans.
