I wouldn’t go that far just yet, but yes the number of Indiana residents with no allegiance to either university who root for IU is dwindling. And it has everything to do with lack of success. If you were born in the year 2000, you’ve seen IU miss the tournament almost as many times as they’ve made it. Just unfathomable to comprehend for some of us.

If IU is Dusty’s “dream job”, he’ll take it whenever. Let him go coach at Miami for the next 6-8 years to get his feet wet in big boy basketball and let IU hire Bruce Pearl to right the ship. Auburn might win the national title this year.

Our sons are about the same age. He grew up watching IU because his dad loved watching IU games and went to a fair share of them, but I ended up cancelling my season tickets that I’ve held since 96 at the start of his junior year because he had no interest in going to the games anymore….and he was a student in Bloomington at the time. None of his buddies growing up or even in high school watched IU and many of them wound up going there. I strongly feel there’s a massive decline in IU fandom from our youth. I watched/listened to every IU game growing up starting around the age of 8 or 9. Mike Woodson believe it or not was the first IU player that I have any recollection of

Woody’s NBA connections and IU’s NIL budget are a much bigger selling point to 5* recruits than an Indiana or its basketball history. NIL will always allow IU to keep its head above water, but we’ve been treading for years. Need a coach and new administration leadership ASAP.

Indiana has a very loyal and strong fan base, nobody is denying that. But Indiana the last two decades is just another program in the hierarchy of college basketball. Nobody looks at Indiana the way they used too. You weren’t alive the last time Indiana had a relevant basketball team. It’s not something I’d expect you or many others on here to understand.

Sometime in 2010 or 2011, I watched the Indiana students storm the court after a win against unranked Minnesota. I remember sitting in my seat and burying my head in my hands thinking “this is it, there’s nowhere else to go but up from here, right”? That for me was the low point of my Indiana fandom and the first realization the IU program will never be the same again. It somehow one upped every year.

My “schtick”? Calling out unacceptable basketball?

Totally fair. And I would agree with you. We really are just another basketball program these days (Dakich’s words verbatim). But Dakich said it so it can’t be true lol. Some people are so soft.

You find the state of the program acceptable? Lol, do you then. It’s embarrassing.

Nothing Dakich has said about the state of the program is wrong. Hate him for a million other reasons, but the culture that is IU basketball is terrible and he’s been lamenting on it for years.

Buckner means well. But he absolutely abused his power and influence to get his buddy hired who had no business being hired in the first place. He needs to answer for this.

Every single one of these names are expendable and replaceable if they don’t want to stay good riddance.

Why would Scott Drew leave a program that he’s built from the ground up the last 20 years and won a title at no less, to come take on this shitshow? The shine this job once had is long gone. We’ve been passed by so many other programs these last 20 years.

He’d be like any other mid-major coach with a fluke tourney run. I don’t think many people understand how many things had to go right for FAU to get out of the first weekend. May would definitely be an upgrade from Woodson, but there’s no real concrete evidence he’d be able to win at a high level for an extended period of time here.

Who cares? If we lose McNeeley because it’s the end of the Woodson era it’s a win for everybody. We start three different 5* as is and are going to end playing on Wednesday of the BTT.

What a push

Because Woodson doesn’t know what he’s doing. And it wouldn’t matter if someone else started in place of Sparks because we don’t run an offense to begin with.

X isn’t starting because he sucks, not because he was ejected from the game. CJ Gunn doesn’t do what he did tonight if XJ was actually reprimanded. XJ turned right around the next game and forearm shoved Edey in a complete non-basketball play.

Sparks has been the least of our issues.

There’s been a flagrant foul in the last 3 games and 2 ejections. And you’re telling me guys are held accountable? No effing chance.

If you’re dumb enough to elbow another player in the face in a camera full of arenas covering every inch of the floor, you deserve all the smoke.

This is a systematic issue that starts and stops at the top. Mike Woodson has ZERO clue what he’s doing. There is zero accountability anywhere.

All facts. There isn’t a chance in hell IU was a signature away from signing Brad Stevens and ending up with this s***. Quinn Buckner took complete advantage of Shill Dolson (because Shill Dolson didn’t know any better) to get his buddy hired and here we are. The entire athletic department needs to be turned inside out. It’s ******** embarrassing. Makes me sick.

That’s what they refer to as an anomaly. He just flat out sucks and there’s no sugarcoating it.
