Then they'll hire Musselmen or Cronin, you know guys that have actually coached at the P5 level with a modicum of success. They tried the same stunt we did and got burned. But they won't let their problem linger for more than a year or two. -

Paid JUCO kids for years to get where Gonzaga is now. Also tried to drop the “do you know who I am” card after his DUI arrest last year. Theres a lot less good college basketball coaches than there are perfect people in this world. Trying to find both leads to a lot of double-digit losses. -

He’s a basketball coach paid to win games, something he’s extremely good at. Once people realize IU isn’t hiring Beard to become a priest, the type of person he is off the court is irrelevant so long as he does his job. But yes, we are a self-righteous bunch. -

Overpaying for a coach who isn’t coming here in the first place doesn’t mean we’re serious about winning. Hiring Pearl or Beard on the other hand is and it wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg either. Both want to be here.
