I would have to guess we were basically eliminated when Fife got fired. I got zero hope for this one. Would have loved to get him, but we'll be just fine with Cupps and Jakai. I wish him the best and hope his college experience will be everything he's looking for.

Watching the game and I noticed the PU commit, Gibbs-Lawhorn, is playing for Monteverde. That kid was at Utah High School earlier this year. As a high school junior, he's on his 3rd school.

Lol, I know of the age difference. Pacers are looking to contribute next season. The front office is not one to go for a long term rebuild. Back to back years out the playoffs would be a surprise. So I don't consider their age to be a big factor. If they trade two $20+ Mil contracts, they are DEFINITELY gonna bring in another legit starter via free agency. Hell, they might even pack in that lotto pick. But I think it's more likely they draft a defensive 3/4. Ivey not ready to contribute for a team with playoff hopes. Ok. If your prediction comes true, then ya, they could do that. I don't know why they'd trade Buddy Hield then draft Jaden Ivey. They're strengths and weaknesses are very similar. Only key difference is Ivey's explosiveness, but he's no Morant. Buddy is already one of the most lethal shooters in the NBA. Trading Hield would be a cap move to sign a bonafide starter. Ivey's better off on a team like OKC alongside SGA and Giddey. Orlando would work too but they'll probably get the pick of Chet or Jabari. TBH, I think it'd be really sick to see him NOLA with CJ, Ingram and a healthy Zion. Edit: just realized NOLA traded their 1st rd pick, so nevermind about that. I recall Chris saying that when Cupp committed it wouldn't effect Miro's decision. But, doesn't really matter now. Reading between the lines, I'd speculate the Little family was one of the recruits to hear the alleged subordination from Fife. I love it. A couple young guys in Ya and Walsh make our coaching staff so much more relatable to this current generation. I imagine our recruiting is going to take off the next couple years

As far as downsides for Randy, I can't help but think of this clip from his NBA days:

Chet's physical build might be the only glaring downside to him. Anyone who can handle, shoot, pass, rebound and rim protect while being 7'0" will do great in college. If Duncomb could do just two of those things at Chet's level, we got a good player. Time will tell though...

It'll be hard to see Race go, but we've got to give JG his spot. I'd be happy to see Race go to a Minnesota/Creighton/Marquette level program.

Kopp and JG could play together at the 3 and 4. All depends on who is coming back though

I could compare Kofi to a less skilled Andre Drummond. Drummond's hardly an asset anymore. Came out of college super hyped, but now cash strapped finals contenders are the only teams that will give him a contract and he's only good for rebounds. If TJD leaves, then I think getting Race back is great. If TJD returns, I am not too pumped about starting them together again. If Race would accept the role as our backup big, behind TJD, that would be awesome. I doubt he would return just to come off the bench though. JG deserves to be the starting 4 next year, with or without Race.

I'd guess the org tree would place Thad under Dolson, but I was under the impression that he'd have some type of close day-to-day role with the team. I think Mark said on a different episode that Thad was definitely interested in being an AD down the road. It's a matter of time till the right position opens and he leaves. My wild guess is Butler

A few weeks back, Mark Titus was talking about Matta. Someone asked Mark what Matta did at IU and he said "Uhh, I don't even think Thad knows what his job is." Coming from someone really close to Thad, I feel like that shows Woody isn't really using him.

I can't really say I have a lot of experience reading Asst. Coaches farewell statements, but it seems like a snub to not even mention the fellow coaching staff. Even if he didn't mean it, I would assume that if there was any resemblance of a good relationship still there, he'd acknowledge them for all the work/time they put in together this season.
